Food was good but the service was so bad that I just have to give it 2 stars. Went three times and each time the service some how was worser than the last time. Went different times of the day also. But my favorite part is each time I was given the check the servers passive aggressive attitude conveniently disappeared when it was time to get their tip. I’ve had better service at McDonalds

As a family dealing with Celiac Disease, finding restaurants that accommodate gluten-free dining can be a challenge. A group of us ate here before a Red Bulls match and had a great time. There was some confusion about the gluten-free menu when we were seated(they couldn’t find the GF menus); but I just brought their site up on my phone and we read it from there until the menus arrived. The staff is reasonably knowledgeable about GF dining, and the only slip-up was from the kitchen, when they put a piece of non-GF cornbread on my daughter’s plate. We knew to avoid it, because it wasn’t on the GF menu, and the manager confirmed that we made the right decision by avoiding it. For us, that is a forgivable oversight because it was so obvious and easy to avoid. Good variety, friendly staff, good service. We will be back.

Absolutely phenomenal. Sure, I wouldn’t be writing this review if our server hadn’t asked me to, but the food is absolutely phenomenal. Delicious brisket, the«BBQ rice with BBQ meats» for my side was just that savory taste I can’t quite identify, and they gave us awesome beer and mixed drinks to go with. The portion sizes were comfortably small, and just to top it off, they gave me a slice of cheesecake better than I can make at home(and that’s pretty freaking good). Enjoyed it a bunch. Admittedly, I’ve never been to the South for barbecue, so maybe I’m just missing out, but I really enjoyed it.

This place is awesome. The BBQ beans are the best. Great selection of sauce. Pulled pork was delicious. Great atmosphere. Music not too loud.

This place is pretty cool. I ordered the deviled eggs, and sweetheart rib special. It came with sides, we chose: sweet potatoes, ride and beans, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. It was nice. The ribs were decent. I’d come back.

Fun place. Service was good. Food was great if you like ribs and/or pulled pork. Try the baked beans as well. Not too noisy. Only complaint is they don’t give wet ones after the meal.

We had dinner here on a Saturday night before seeing a show at NJPAC. It’s a short walk from the parking garage at NCPAC. The host staff was friendly and we were quickly sat in the dining room. The restaurant was clean and busy. We ordered two sandwich platters; the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich. They were delicious! The meat had so much flavor and the rolls were so good. The platters came with sides, we got macaroni and cheese, rice and beans, French fries and corn bread. Which were all delicious. If we had time I might have asked for more corn bread. The mac and cheese was so good and the meals were well priced. The highlight of our visit was our server, Mel. He was courteous, prompt and probably the best server I have had in a long time. He seemed to anticipate anything that we needed throughout our dinner, for example, he brought refills to the table without anyone having to say a word. He was very attentive to all of his tables and made pleasant conversation with all of them. I worked in the restaurant industry all throughout college and grad school. I was very impressed with his service. He was very polite and funny and knew the menu well. We are definitely requesting him when we come back!

Just went to Dinosaur BBQ. DELICIOUS!!! I started with a nice pint of Ommegang Brewery Rare Vos. For my appetizer I had the Swag Platter which was great. A delicious Deviled Egg, Fried Green Tomato, Garlic Chipotle Wing and three Drunken Spicy Shrimp Boil For my second appetizer I had three Wango Tango Wings For my Entrée I had a Full Rack of BBQ Pork Ribs with the four sides of Mash Potatoes with Gravy, Gumbo, Fresh Cut Fries and BBQ Fried Rice with BBQ Meats. Our server Jamel was awesome. He offered us gluten free options for my daughter who has Celiac Disease. He was friendly, food was prompt, and was informative on what to order/what not to order. *Note, do not park in lot directly across. Apparently it is only for frequent visitors that have a monthly pass. We attempted to park here for a good 15 minutes before giving up and parking on the street. Best Part: Awesome food, great service, clean and fun environment– surprisingly good for a family even though it is a bar atmosphere. Worst Part: Homeless man harassing us for«A Subway Sandwich, Please.» while enroute.

I’ve kinda of a bbq snob and really only eat my family bbq but came here with a friend because they loved. Food is just okay but the drinks were good. Staff was friendly and gave good recommendations.

This is pretty good for BBQ this far N and E. I first tried their BBQ from a truck at the tulip festival in Albany on a terribly blustery spring day, and the brisket sandwich was just what I needed. We’d usually order a smokehouse chop salad(with brisket) to share plus a tres ninos combo plate. The beans, mac and cheese, and Harlem potato salad are probably your best bet for sides. I’d give this place a 3.5 if I could, and keep in mind that we moved to NJ from the Austin area. That said, this is the best ‘cue we found in these parts(outside of our own smoker).

Went for dinner after a graduation last week. I was utterly disappointed. I had some Mississippi sauced fried smoked chicken. It was ok. The coleslaw was too tangy. The cornbread tasted like it was left out for a week and then microwaved. I’ve had better Mac and cheese. Maybe all the good reviews are from those who went to the one in Harlem. This trip was a no go for me!

The ribs were so delicious the first night we dined here, we came back the very next night! As a visitor to Newark, this place was recommended to me by several locals, and I was not disappointed. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, especially our waiter, Mel, who made us feel welcomed and gave great menu suggestions. If I fond myself in Newark again, I will definitely hit this place up for more of those ribs!!!(The slaw was great too.)

Get ready to rib-rack ‘n’ roll! Been waiting to try this one out for a while, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que of Newark, located right next to the Prudential Center, definitely brings your protein intake up to snuff with that of The Rock. Stepping in from the street the eclectic atmosphere of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is very open with an earthy-tone texture to the walls and a sizable bar right in front of you as soon as you step in, boasting 27 different beers and local and exclusive micro brews. I would have loved to have seen them all for some pairing suggestions with the menu options as a few I was not familiar with but unfortunately that was not the case and had pair things I knew of instead of trying something new. The staff was very kind and ready to take your order, making all suggestions as needed for how much you might want to eat as to not overindulge upon the savory feast you are about to have. Opting to go with a 3-meat combo of pulled pork, brisket, and spare ribs; the slow cooked and smoked meats of Dinosaur made for some of the tender and mouthwatering chow, topped with a savory sauces that is only met by true Southern cooking styles. The gravy and sauce were not over abundant, giving you the real texture and essence from the proteins. We paired-off with a few side dishes of some very cheesy mac and cheese not to mention cornbread(worth murdering for) and a broccoli and celery coleslaw cold bowl that had an interesting zing to it but without being a big celery fan, I left it alone for the most part. The beer prices are certainly reasonable ranging between 3 — $ 7 a piece but they do offer bucket prices as well which can save you a buck or two if you’re ordering for a group. The service is fantastic and now they have lots of to choose from as well. If you’re coming up to the Prudential Center, I would highly recommend making plans to stop in to Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, offering specials for pre-game beverages plus the most delectable food option you are going to find.

We had a great dinner experience. The food as always was outrageously good. Not to mention our server MEL. He went out of his way for little things. He was pay attention to details when you didn’t realize. My grandson was watching a children’s birthday party and saw the cake. Mel heard him mention something about the cake and when the party was over asked if he could have a piece and when we had finished eating brought the cake to my grandson. None of us knew he was going to do that. For all you servers out there, I’ve been there and done that and the little things are what will get you the 30−40% tip from customers. Paying attention to what is going on at your tables without having to be asked. Really a great place to go. I would recommend it to everyone.

Long time, no Dino! Prompted by an old Hofstra buddy who was visiting from Queens, we made the 18 minute drive from West Orange to The Rock to get our«Rib Fix!» To our surprise and delight, DBQ was half empty on a recent Monday evening, in May. Despite the relatively quiet atmosphere, the front of the house was a bit disorganized. It took us a couple of minutes to locate the Hostess, but we were finally led to a booth within eyeshot of one of the Small HDTV’s, so that we could watch Lebron & Co. battle the Toronto Raptors. Our server, Steve was friendly, if not particularly attentive to our needs. Fortunately, he took our drink orders, and served our food promptly. But our table was missing a place setting, and he never once offered to re-fill our water glasses. Fortunately, our large order of 13 Chicken Wings(2 sauces), and the full rack of Ribs w/4 sides that we ordered, were predictably Dino-licious. So, we pigged out, nodded to each other in agreement, and left the restaurant satisfied. Way better than fighting the din and crowds, on the weekend! Note: We got a free bottle of WangoTango BBQ Sauce, just for completing an online survey.

Was in town to see a show at the PAC, heard good things about the ribs and decided to give Dinosaurs a try. Walked in the door a little after 6:00, place was busy but far from packed. We immediately got a table and the waiter came over and took our drink order, then came back a short time later to take our food order, all good so far. 20 mins later no drinks, flag the waiter down and ask about the drinks, he comes back with two warm, watered down drinks, makes an excuse that the bartender had to go downstairs for more vodka. Food comes a short time later and the Ribs are awesome but the fries are soggy, other sides are cold. Five stars on the ribs, two stars on the service, two stars on the sides for an overall three star review.

We had take out for my nephew’s birthday. They delivered to Montclair, which was awesome, and they were on time with the correct, exceptionally large, order. And of course, the food was delicious. The Mac and cheese was a bit hit with the littles, and the pulled pork was a favorite with the parents. The baked beans are my favorite — they aren’t sweet. Just as good as the Syracuse one I grew up with.

Dino BBQ is right next to the Prudential Center. It has a very rustic interior, definitely feels like a BBQ joint. I have been here a few times, and I usually split the half rack and 4 sides with a friend. My preferred sides are the mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, fries, and rice. From my experience, the service is a little inconsistent. Sometimes the ribs are tender and juicy, other times it’s a little dry. I don’t really mind it as long as they are willing to correct the problem and give me a new order of ribs. To their credit, they did bring out another order, but they made us feel like we were another bunch of annoying customers who are being fussy, even though it was obvious that the ribs were overcooked. Once that was corrected, I thought the food was delicious, especially with the variety of sides to choose from. They also have lunch specials where you can get a pulled pork sandwich and 2 sides for around $ 9 which is a great deal. Aside from a couple service issues, I enjoyed the food here.

I had Dinosaur BBQ over three years ago at a corporate catering event. From that day I knew Dinosaur BBQ had something good. I finally visited the holy Oasis of slow cooked spice encrusted meat Palace and was instantly reminded why I enjoy barbecue so much . I ordered the create your own three meats platter consisting of ribs you peel shrimp and pulled pork. Pulled pork is something not all places do well! dinosaur does a good job at it and an even better job at the ribs. If you enjoy your barbecue with sweet and spicy sauces then you are in for a treat. Also they did a great job on the starter of wings. I ordered mine plain, sauce on the side. the wings where crispy and hot. The sides were turkey neck greens and whipped sweet potato. The greens we’re amazing. I could have had 5 more orders of the greens!!. I would have happily traded the dull sweet potatoes for greens. I just love their dreams! Unfortunately their cornbread was not available. We were told the batch was wrong. Not quite sure how that happens at a place that makes the same batches of cornbread day in and day out but I will not judge. I was disappointed by this and must get some the next time I go and there will be a next time, best believe that! Our server was very friendly, funny, accurate and nice. They also have a decent bar area with tons of beers on tap, craft beers, domestics for all. BBQ& Beers pre or post Prudential Center games in Newark? What do you have to lose

Surly bartender: check 25 minute wait for wings: check Half of order missing: check Plastic wrapping in food: CHECK Undercooked/pink(RED??!) wings: CHECK! Wtf would anyone come here is beyond my comprehension other than the fact that it’s Newark and there’s nowhere else to eat in a five mile radius that you won’t risk getting mugged. A serious blemish on the Dinosaur BBQ name. The one in Harlem rocks while this one fails on all fronts.

My close friend took me here before I left for a flight. He is the pickiest eater you will ever meet — he pretty much only eats American junk food. So when he says this place has some really good BBQ. I listened. We came out on a Sunday afternoon for dinner and there was no line. The BBQ was above average but I have had better for the same price range. The ribs are very good but brisket and chicken were okay. My friend loves the pulled pork but I have yet to try it. The sides were surprisingly good, especially the mac and cheese. Overall, it would be difficult to find a place that is much better than BBQ Dinosaur in the Northeast area.

Dinosaur BBQ has a clutch location, right outside the Prudential Center. They definitely get awesome foot traffic from all the events that are held there. It’s a pretty big space, larger than I thought it was just by looking outside. They do some happy hour specials until 7PM but you have to be seated at the bar or high tops to take advantage. The menu itself is really big and there’s plenty of options to please any crowd. They have a pretty good beer selection as well. I went with the you pick combination, with 2 choices. This platter is accompanied with your choice of 2 sides and cornbread. I decided I had to try the ribs and for my second choice I picked the ¼ chicken and requested breast meat. My sides were the creamy coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. The food as a whole was just ok. The ribs were not meaty at all and the little meat that was there was not fall off the bone edible. It took some work to get that meat off. The flavor of the sauce was very good though. The chicken was the highlight of the dish, it was moist and flavorful. The sides were blahhhhhh, coleslaw was good but not creamy and the mashed potatoes were pretty bland and tasteless. My dad got the BBQ catfish and sweet potatoes with potato salad. I tried both of his sides and they were awesome, guess I know for next time(if there ever is a next time). Didn’t get a chance to taste the catfish but my dad said it was good. I wouldn’t rush back here but I also wouldn’t avoid it, like I said earlier, the location is key for Dinosaur BBQ. People like conveience.

Nice place. But little cold inside. Love the décor and the sevice was in point. Spacious place where ever you are seated. The ribs were meaty and tasty. I like the runs best. The tango sauce was very good. Not to hit but it has a kick to it. The bbq beans was good. But the greens was without taste. The sweet tea was a very good beverage. Not to sweet and still a good taste with the lemon in it. I can see myself returning. For the guys. Be careful. There is much eye candy for a guys hang out moment.

We came across this place while looking for a place to have lunch before a show at Prudential Center. The location cannot be beat it’s just a step away. We were seated promptly it last a pretty large place and reminded me of a BBQ like setting that you would see in Texas. The menu has a variety of ideas. The BBQ chicken is delicious! Each meal comes with your choice of sides. They also offer a large variety of drinks. We came about an hour and a half before the show and this place was pretty crowded however, they had as in and out with perfect timing! Great place for kids and groups.

The Story: Always wanted to come here since I’ve heard good things about their Bronx location. I’m too cheap to pay $ 15 to get into NYC so this will have to do. Came here with boyfriend and friends for Pre-game(woo! Go Devils) drinks and food. Food: They have decent specials. I enjoyed one of their specialty drinks… I think it was called the«Donkey Kong». I ordered the skirt steak and unfortunately it came out cold(I know they were busy but still.). The chimichuri sauce was great though. Price: Pretty average price. It’s comparable with restaurants of the same tier. Décor: Bar flare. I haven’t spot a dino though =( Service: Service was decent because of the amount of people that was at the establishment. I cannot really pick on the staff members on this one lol. Parking & Finding the Place: Located next to the Prudential center in Newark NJ. Additional Thoughts: If you’re coming for a game, come here before 5pm… it gets crazy. If you’re just dining, do not come here when theres a game. Either come way before or after the game.
