Another terrible visit. This time I did not get my food. Like the server never put my order in. I waited an hour, and finally he realized that my order never got put in(largely because he never seemed to come to our table) and then finally put it in when I had to leave to go to a meeting. Manager comped the one beer that I had. This visit occurred in April, and it will be my last. It’s a shame too. The food is great, but the service continues to be terrible. And to think, I invested in their mug club. Just one more thing about the Mug Club. I am currently waiting to hear back from them as to whether or not I can retrieve my mug and take it with me. I would not recommend joining the Mug Club as an investment. There’s zero accountability. In my three years of eating here I have never been asked to confirm that a mug was my mug, and friends have used friends mugs countless times without being asked to confirm themselves. Want proof? Next time you’re there just ask the server for a beer in a random 3 digit number mug. I can almost guarantee that they’ll bring it, no questions asked. I’ve emailed management on two separate occasions now, and nothing changed. Find someplace better to spend your money. There are plenty of choices in Newark. Good food can do nothing to overcome the lack of bar service that this sports bar has.

Service is always slow. Food is just ok. Takes a very long time to get your food. Didn’t have plates to eat the appetizers on till almost done eating.

I was here last Saturday and the only complaint I have is how long the apps and food took to come out. The appetizers were worth the wait though! We ordered buffalo chicken nachos and crab dip to start. The buffalo chicken nachos were probably one of the best nachos I have had. The crab dip… Well there is no explanation for that. Hands down would just go back for this. As an entrée I got the peanut butter & jelly burger. Yes, burger. It was awesome besides the fact that it was really really greasy where my burger bun was sopping wet from the grease and that I ordered a medium rare and got like a rare. I couldn’t use the bottom bun because it was literally soaked in grease, so I had to eat the top bun and the burger. My mother in law for the crab Mac & cheese with a side salad. That was pretty good also, I am not sure what dressing the salad came with but it was really good. The dressing was like a sweet dressing, which I am usually not a fan of. I would be back for sure for appetizers and drinks. Speaking of drinks I ordered a peach tea, that was awesome as week. See you soon Greene Turtle!

Loved this place when I use to live in Delaware. Now that I’ve been introduce to what you should expect from establishments you spend your money at. I have to say this place needs work mainly and service. They have a young staff who isn’t very attentive and don’t seem to have proper training on how to make sure guest are being taken care of. They just take order and leave without checking up on you. Food is ok kind of bland would suggest the lobster dip and the steak is good as well. Beer was crisp cold and fresh. They have alot of tv’s so if you come for sports you cant go wrong. Was at one point a regular however on my home comings I probably would have to scratch them off the to do list.

The manager and wait staff are very friendly here! My favorite things on the menu are the raspberry lemonade, the Maryland crab soup, and the monkey bread. Rest of the food is what you can expect for a sports bar. Not gourmet, but not bad.

Cowboy burger and pretzel/crab dip is amazing but some new dishes could be added to menu. Maybe some sizzling or Cajun spicy dishes. Just a suggestion.

I only get takeout from Greene turtle and it’s usually the same thing, which is the buffalo chicken nachos. They’re amazing! As long as you call at least an hour before close the chips are always hot and taste fresh as do all the other toppings. I made the mistake of calling around 12:20am once and the food was horrible meaning inedible. I had to throw burger sliders and the nachos out. However the other night was fight night(which I knew nothing about) so it was pretty busy but we called in a new take out order with the nachos but added a chx cheesesteak as well with extra provolone. It was sooooo good! Did take a little longer than usual and they did forget my condiments but It was delish. My only gripe would be the bowl of chilli I ordered instead of chips or fries. The chilli was horrible… in that weird way where the ground beef just tastes like meat and the kidney beans were surprisingly kind of hard. So in conclusion they make awesome buffalo chx nachos and they make a decent personal sized chx cheesesteak just stay away from any beef products from them.

Great food&beer selection! Can’t go wrong with the crab dip. Staff is always welcoming& personable yet professional. Great atmosphere, and live music on Wednesday’s is a plus! My only complaint is the women’s bathroom could use some tidying.

Hog Hammers are amazing! Bar area is a great casual place for food and drink. Wings are a soggy mess. Have tried them(3) times, and never again! Thanks for your reply. Wings fixed! Cooked perfect tonight and would not have ordered them without your feedback. Great job!

Extremely long wait for food 1 hour and 15 minutes from time we gave them our order and then they serve raw chicken! The plates and silver wear are filthy with old stained food. We spoke with a manager and he said he would take the raw chicken off our bill! Personally after this experience I don’t think we should have to pay a dime! Very disappointed and concerned that someone is going to actually get ill from eating at this establishment.

First time in a Greene Turtle! Wife loved her rare peanut butter & jelly burger! It sounded so gross but I tasted it and it was delicious! I had the chopped chicken barbecue salad and the onion straws on top of the salad really made this a great salad. We will definitely be going back! Had a great waiter that took great care of us and shared that with his manager! Overall a great place for a quick bite!!!

Went here for dinner with friends. What’s up with the little tvs at each table? That to me is distracting because I’m not there to watch tv. I’m there to socialize with friends and eat. The food was delicious! The service was not really that good. Couldn’t get our waitress sometimes. She didn’t automatically refill our drinks. Couldn’t find her to get sugar.

Worst service at Green Turtle tonight. Waiter Kenny was awful. Took forever to get to our table to take drink order, when we asked for a refill, he finally brought it 20 minutes later. Got eastern Mac and cheese, which I love but it was COLD! Fries were cold, service and food just not good. You suck Green Turtle.

I’ve visited this establishment in Newark 2x in the past month while visiting other locations in Dover, Lewes, Ocean City and the famous Fell’s Point location over the years. Yesterday I had lunch in Newark with a business associate and we both ordered a chicken caesar salad with MD crab soup. The soup was pretty good but not as good as what you will get at a Turtle in MD and the salad was just bad. I asked for my chicken to be blackened and it wasn’t even seasoned. I’ve tasted better out of a can. Maybe this is a decent spot to watch a game, but don’t go for the food.

Had lunch with the family on Sunday. Overall, it was a very good experience. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was decent. Good wraps, chicken skewers were great. Fresh salads. Great place to bring kids. Super loud. TV’s everywhere. We will be back. I am really more like 3.5 stars but rounded up!

The food sucks, I’ve been here multiple times and I’ve never liked anything I’ve ordered. I’m not picky and I usually like everything so I don’t understand this. There aren’t really any specials unless you like terrible beer — coors light and miller light… And I think even those are $ 4. Bleh.

Stopped here on a snowy Sunday afternoon. It was pretty empty and we had the bar to ourselves. I had a great vodka strawberry lemonade, and we ordered Bavarian pretzels with warm queso and stout dijon, and Eastern Shore macaroni and cheese. The pretzels were fine, but the macaroni and cheese was supposed to be Turtle’s own mac & cheese with lump crab, sharp cheddar, chopped bacon, Old Bay® and scallions, then baked to order. There was ham instead of bacon, and absolutely no crab or scallions. We questioned the bartender if we got the right order and he could not have cared less. He just said oh its in there… UMNO it was not. We also had a monkey bread ala mode and the monkey bread was overcooked and way too hard.

TV at table didn’t work to watch the game. No one tried to fix it, all they said was some little girl played with it. Under the tv is a ton of dust and even a cucumber.

This place is all right. It’s close to my apartment so I have been here a couple of times. I’ll admit, I get a kick out of the personal TVs at every table– Especially when everyone else is watching sports and I’m watching Full House on Nick at Nite ;-) The food is okay. I really enjoy their buffalo dip in a bread bowl. It’s delicious and I’ve made sure to get it every time I have had dinner here. I’ve had a few of the burgers, all of which were pretty good. I’ve also had their Greek salad, which was a let down, as its usually one of my favorite meals. However, it was probably my own mistake for ordering a salad at a sports bar-ish place like this. The real issue I’ve had with the Greene Turtle was the service. The hosts weren’t all too friendly and the waitstaff is really here nor there. The first time I came here, we had a great server. She was friendly and pretty attentive. The second time I stopped by, the server was nice enough, but stopped at our table a whopping total of 2 times. I looked over and he was flirting with a table of two girls. At least he was nice. The third time, the server was rude and hardly showed up at our table. I’ll probably keep coming for burgers and apps. Hopefully the service will improve!

Been to many Greene Turtles in Central Maryland, but now they have moved into Northern Delaware, less than 40 miles from Philadelphia. Yet when you walk in the door, your are greeted with wall to wall Baltimore sports memorabilia. Hello? Who in Newark, DE wants to look at pictures of Ray Lewis, framed Orioles jerseys and Redskins stuff. Saw one tiny Eagles and Steelers display. To add insult to injury, they have the nerve to have a «Philly Cheese Steak» on the menu. Is this a joke? It was more like a «mis-steakj.» Hint, don’t call it a Philly Cheese Steak, nobody in Philadelphia adds the word Philly. Seeing the moniker«Philly» is a giveaway that it is an imposter and not a genuine cheese steak. More like a fugazi cheese steak. Other than that, it is just a sports bar in the greater Philadelphia metro area tuned into Baltimore and D.C. sports channels. The micro brew selection is also heavily skewed towards Baltimore breweries, but they did have some Yards, Dogfish Head and one from Victory. But again, know where you are at… this isn’t Baltimore or D. C, Anyway, if you fled the Peoples Republic of Maryland to live in the tax haven of Delaware and want a little slice of Maryland without the 6% sales tax, this is your place. If you are the typical Delawarean and want to watch the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers or Flyers, probably not your joint… unless you want to stare at a photo of Ray Lewis or Ray Rice. I’d give this place 3 stars on merit(even with the fugazi cheese steak on the menu), but I am greatly insulted by the Ray Lewis pic. It’s a family place, right? So what parent wants to explain to their kid about what happened on the streets of Atlanta in 2000? If they want to be true to their Maryland roots, maybe have 1 or 2 small Baltimore photos, but not the whole restaurant. Know who your customers are!
