My second time here in the morning to grab breakfast before flight and once again an awful experience. 1. No Salmon — had to chew dry baked bagel 2. No skimmed milk(forget about anything other than regular creamer with coffee) 3. Rude service — you’ll keep chasing them for every small thing. I think all positive ratings are paid ones. There are much better services available in restaurants closer to gates 100 and further.

Yikes!!! Never again! My friend and I stopped at this Bar while waiting for my plane home. You have to already realize that it’s going to be a bit pricey because it is a bar in the airport, but for the quality and quantity of the food, the prices were outrageous. The customer service was very poor, basically our waitress greeted us with«what do you want» slapped our food and drinks down and didn’t come back to check on us. The food was awful! I ordered the popcorn shrimp and ended up getting some kind of sandwich popcorn shrimp and the waitress looked at me and said«that’s what you ordered» nowhere on the menu did it was it was a sandwich with 3 pieces of popcorn shrimp in it. The shrimp was also, burnt and tasteless and very chewy! My friend had the claim chowder and she said it was«meh». I wish I would have read the reviews before spending $ 40 here on water and a meal! Not worth it! Eat in the food court!

Oh, why does the first restaurant I see(and go into) in the airport this morning turn out to be about the lowest rated of all? Because it isn’t very good. The breakfast menu looked good — seafood variations such as the crab hash I ordered. There was a reasonable amount of crab but it was tasteless. It was on top of a pile of those greasy potatoes found only at airports. The service wasn’t all that good either – where’s my coffee refill? Look elsewhere.

I did not have a problem with the service, which was fine for me. But the food was way below the standards of the Grand Central restaurant, which was one of my favorite NY establishments. It pains me if that has gone downhill as well. It could be that the only thing to order is the raw oysters. Those were fine and I did not get sick. Manhattan chowder is not good(ok, acceptable if you are ok with canned soup). The salad is edible but uninteresting.

The oysters were pretty good, the service was quick and the ambiance was quick but classy. I’d recommend to friends. However, it’s a bit cramped so expect to wait for a table or get close with your neighbor at the bar.

Ate here during a layover on the way to Canada. Overpriced, service was so-so, and the quality is not great. Had fish n chips. Was not breaded well, fish had some dark spots on it and tasted fishy, and the texture was not good. The outside of the restaurant looks cool, but don’t be fooled, skip this place.

AVOIDAVOIDAVOID Extremely overpriced. My bloody mary, which was pretty dreadful(it should be called a Salty Mary) was $ 12.75(buyer beware — cocktail prices not on the menu). Crab cake sandwich was $ 12.75. It was OK, a little cold in the center(but cooked). The waitress asked me if I wanted fries with it, and again, I had assumed that at $ 12.75 it would include them… wrong! They charged me $ 5.99 for a plate of so-so fries! Are they kidding me? I asked them to remove the fries and they did. But I think their menu and tactics are extremely deceptive. Go elsewhere at EWR or ask them what each item costs and includes. This place may look nice but it just plain sucks.

I’d give it a four but it is way too expensive for airport food. Having said that, I love oysters. I was there for a quick stop before catching a flight to Chicago. I was with 2 people who work with me. We ordered 2 dozen oysters, french fries, a lobster roll, and fried calamari. The oysters were as expected clean, tasty and delicious. Loved the red wine vinegar and onion sauce. Yummy. Will come again whenever I am in around this terminal…

Good food in an airport? Really? Yup, and it came in the form of this off-shoot to the famed Oyster Bar in Grand Central. While I was completely surprised to find it there in Terminal C, it makes sense. If a train station can have one, why not an airport. There they were shucking oysters(in an airport), packing trays with crushed ice(in an airport), and shaking up the biggest martini I have ever had(in or out of an airport! Seriously, it was like a bird bath of gin!) Given the short time before my flight, I only had the fried calamari and oysters Rockerfeller. Both were delicious, although a wee bit salty.(Hey, I’m assuming it was sea salt, and therefore meant to mentally transport me to the ocean.) Actually, the oysters, which had just been shucked to order, were some of the best I’ve had. Light, frothy, with a hint of vermouth in the sauce. Plus, at $ 14 I got 6 big’uns, and was happy to see the portion size and price in an airport, which can often have exhorbitant prices for food. I know this is a stretch, but I might actually arrange to fly into Newark vs. NYC in the future just because this is there. Yup, I just might!
