My most favorite winery in Oregon! The owner is a painter… he serves wine himself in the gallery. SUPERPLUS for that! Everyone here is just great. You won’t be disappointed. :)

The wine maker has stunning art that he painted through the tasting room. It was a lovely experience with really good wine!

We’ve been wine club for several years and just wanted to let everyone know how much we love it! We really recommend their club because(unlike many other wineries) these folks have many club perks: preview tastings, pick up parties, and good discounts and tasting comps. But even if you’re not club, they are very lovely folks. Alice and Jasmine have been there for years and they always provide A+ service. I recommend setting up one of the premium tasting experiences if they’re available. The wines are superb. James and Chris really make terrific riesling and pinot noir. They’ve also started producing great chardonnay.

We went into Trisaetum on Saturday with friends from California. Here are some notes. 1. Setting — this is a classic tasting room with some big extra bonuses, there is both an art gallery and an outdoor seating area. The views are incredible. You have to drive on a gravel road for a bit but this place is easy to get to. 2. Wines — great variety of wines. The flight options focus on Riesling and Pinot Noir. This place gets many 90+ point scores. The wines are as good as the scores indicate. If you have ever enjoyed an Oregon wine you will like the wines here. 3. Staff — The hospitality here is excellent. The team is smart and confident and they let you know what your options are. This is a special place and the host makes you feel special too. 4. Art — It looks good to me. This winery is definitely worth your time.

I visited Trisaetum located at 18401 Ribbon Ridge Road, Newberg, Oregon. Trisaetum is both a winery and an art gallery, and trust me you’ll know what I’m talking about when you visit. Whatever you do, don’t forget to taste the 2013 Chardonnay. It’s something else! Read more at

This was the first stop on our winery tour over this last weekend. The group was blown away how stunning the vineyard and tasting room was. There were only 8 of us but split into two groups as we wanted to see every view from every window. The wines were wonderful but the gla doing the tasting was very unfriendly. I wont go here again.

Trisaetum Winery was the prettiest winery we visited — we wandered around the vineyard and took lots of photos before they opened up. There’s art on the walls of the tasting room, it’s like a winery/gallery in one! We had a great time here and I highly recommend this beautiful winery to anyone in the area.

GREATWINES. Very nice offerings– 3 different flights. All white, white/red, all red, only $ 10 each. They waive with purchase of a bottle too. Nice policy. Nice gallery of the winemaker’s art. We saw him at Science Pub, and had to see the art and taste the wine. Both were beautiful! Nice patio too! I’d like to spend more time there with a packed picnic.

Did a tasting and Cant really speak too much for the wine as there were hundreds of Fruit Flies flying throughout the tasting room. So many that i had to keep covering my glass with the tasting menu. When i asked for some water she pointed to a vase on the counter that had flies in it and said«help youself» Uhhhh No thanks!

One of the best wineries in the Willamette valley, good Pinots. The owners paintings are equally worth experiencing, they use the artwork for their wine labels. The Willamette Valley & Coastal Range Pinots are good value wines to try. A must see in the Valley!

It was the end of the wine tour and I had tasted some amazing Pinots. So I wasn’t totally impressed with all of the wines. Only the dry Riesling stood out as a must have. The owner’s art was beautiful but not necessarily a draw to the winery itself.

We visited Tristaetum on a Thursday afternoon after driving down a narrow dirt road. The grounds are stunning and the tasting area is tastefully decorated with the winemaker’s artwork. Our pourer was friendly but had some trouble tending to us once other guests arrived. Overall, I thought the wines were OK. I don’t think this winery weathered the 2010-11 vintages well. I could taste the craftsmanship but most wines were overshadowed by an acidic/acrid flavor most likely brought on by the bad years. At $ 40+ a bottle, I struggled to find a wine to purchase. I need to come back here after the 2012 vintages are released. I’d expect my rating to improve dramatically.

I was able to try their dry Riesling at Higgin’s Restaurant in Portland. I enjoyed it so much that we made a point of stopping by their winery when we returned to Willamette. We were glad we did. Their focus is on Pinot’s and Riesling — 2 of my faves! My husband isn’t really a Riesling fan, but even he enjoyed their take on Riesling. I especially liked comparing their Coast Range vs Ribbon Ridge. So unique in their own ways and yet equally delicious. I really liked the Artist Series Pinot and thought it was creative and unique to print the owner/winemaker/artist paintings on their bottles. Their tasting room is also beautiful if you enjoy art. It has nice views of their surrounding vineyards. Our server, I believe her name was Jasmine, was so knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our experience and found it so welcoming. I literally wanted to buy a bottle of everything we tasted — which was a good indicator to me that joining their wine club was a good idea. So, without planning to, we became wine club members during our first visit. Given the quality of their wines, the wine club options and their price point — it made total sense. It’s worth the drive down the dusty, windy road to Trisaetum!

This place was off the beaten path in the valley but totally worth the trip. This was one of my favorite places that we visited in the valley. This winery focuses strictly on pinots and Riesling. If I remember correctly our pourers name was Alice and she was so knowledgeable about the vineyard and the wine making that it made me really respect the effort that went into the wine here. It is a family owned estate and they started it from the ground up. The winery itself is named after their 2 kids. The tasting room is gorgeous and is filled with a lot of art that is interesting to look at while you sip on your wine. They also had a nice deck out the back that overlooked the vineyard. It was amazing outside. It was so serene and quiet you could have heard a pin drop out there. The pinots here were really, really good. They were full of flavor and complexity. By far my favorite pinot was the Artist Series. These bottles are select clones from the estate. Let me tell you something, these are fantastically interesting pinots and were recommended for aging. I definitely left with a bottle of this specifically for a special occasion.(NOTE: The label painting was done by one of the owners. Pretty cool touch if you ask me.)The Rieslings were also very tasty and I am not a big Riesling fan. I highly recommend this winery to stop in at, you will not be disappointed in the service, the wine, or the artwork for that matter!

Despite being a ways off the beaten path, Trisaetum is well worth the detour. The wines wowed, with several delicious Rieslings(their speciality) landing nicely and inexpensive to purchase, I might add. The show-stopper, though, was a pinot noir at the end of the flight – the most impressive of the wines we tasted all day! We received great service from the staff, and I especially enjoyed the gallery within the tasting room, which featured art work by the vineyard proprietor. Tasting there was a lovely experience all-around!

We came here on recommendation from someone in the wine business that we trust, and boy am I glad they recommended Trisaetum! First of all, the tasting room is more like a gallery than your average tasting room. The staff is very friendly, and remembers you — even after one visit. The wines here are outstanding! Trisaetum is one of the only places that does Rieslings in Oregon, and they’re outstanding. But for me, it’s the Pinots that keeps bringing us back. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you have only one or two stops to make in the Oregon wine country, make sure Trisaetum is on your list!

Our favorite stop on our wine tour: best pinots and fantastic art, staff, and view as bonuses. I was waiting all day for a really amazing pinot in pinot land, and found it on our last stop of the day. Highlights: — Staff: Owner is living the good life making wines that he loves and producing art. With this small staff of 7, all we talked to were wonderful. — Art: colorful canvases with clever use of Pinot skins and vines — Pinots: best all around pinots we tasted that day. Had 4 and loved them all — View: up in the hill with an amazing patio area Lowlights: — Other varietal of wine they make was gewurztraminer: they were good versions, so no fault of theirs as I’m just not a fan of the varietal We’re now wine club members so we might be back. 8-)

My husband and I went to this tasting room for the first time last month for three reasons. We left Trisaetum’s tasting room in agreement that it and their wines were two of the most fun discoveries of our three days of Newberg area exploration. If you’re going to be in the area, we recommend simply«go here» for three reasons — wine, art and tasting room hospitality WINES The first reason for our visit to Trisaetum is we heard they make good Riesling. We found that to be so. About five different Rieslings, in fact, each distinctly luscious. We liked them all and bought several bottles. These wines seemed to us to be the most in the style of our favorite Rieslings from Mosel(Germany) of any in Oregon and presented much like those in the range of kabinett and spaetlese.. But the winemakers here also add their own twist and of course the terroir adds what it adds too. An insert on terroir — very cool that you walk into the lovely lobby of the art filled(literally — more on that in a moment) tasting room to see wine glasses on a table filled with the various soils of the region. Soil that is the key to growing good grapes that are the foundation of making great wine. Love it when tasting rooms reinforce that connection for wine drinkers. In addition to wonderful Riesling, Trisaetum also produces several good Pinot Noir, a white Pinot Noir they call Nuit Blanche Pinot Noir and also a Rose. Prices per bottle run about $ 20(Rose) to $ 40 — $ 75(Pinot Noir) retail. The Rieslings clocked in at about $ 24 /bottle. ART The second reason we went to Trisaetum is we learned the winery’s co-owner and wine maker, James Frey, was also the artist whose work we admired among many works of original Oregon artists that were displayed in The Allison where we were staying. We heard that the Trisaetum tasting room also serves as a gallery to display more of Mr. Frey’s contemporary paintings as well as his photographic art. It was delightful to be able to taste wine and wander around the gallery at the same time. HOSPITALITY The third reason we went to Trisaetum is we heard the tasting room had an unpretentious, «all people are welcome» vibe. We found that was true too. The knowledgeable staff tries to make wine approachable for all people. They could answer questions and make recommendations and in a way that we think would make seasoned wine collectors or rank beginner wine drinkers feel equally at home. We’re somewhere between those two bookends and we know we felt most welcome. Also, the tasting fee structure and refund policy here rate a big thumbs up. While tasting fees are good things for many reasons(as one tasting room host at another location said, and we knew what was meant in the kindest translation of the phrase, «fees keep out the riff-raff») it also seems right that fees should be kept reasonable and refunded with a minimal purchase. Very nice to have Trisaetum’s fee low enough to not be a barrier to participation for the«average guy» and also to be refunded with a small purchase.(We bought several bottles, but it may have been just one that triggered fee refund.) THIS N THAT 1) Accessibility: Marked accessible parking in the paved lot. Paved access to the level in door. Entire tasting room is accessible. Very well done to allow winos using wheels as seamlessly equal access as winos using feet. 2) Outdoor Seating: The tasting room has a patio /deck outside it that looks out onto vineyards. They sell wine by the glass(I asked) as well as the bottle so this patio seems like a lovely place to sit and sip a glass(or two) when(if) it stops raining(as it was during our visit). 3) Trisaetum, along with about three dozen other Willamette Valley wineries that bottle Riesling, has joined in the Oregon Riesling Alliance( ) and are tied into the International Riesling Foundation. This is good news as it will almost certainly mean more great Riesling bottled in this region for all of us to enjoy. 4) Great Riesling is NOT an oxymoron. If you think you don’t like Riesling, you may think of it as the awful stuff sold in the US a couple of decades ago that came in blue bottles. Try this Riesling and try some from other producers in the Valley to find your favorite for style. You’ll be glad you did. 5) Trisaetum has $ 10 Flat Rate Shipping to all states to which Oregon wineries can legally ship wine. There’s an incentive for you to try their wine! 6) The winery name is a composite of the owner’s daughter and son’s name. I knew you wondered. :-)
