Owner is extremely knowledgable and a breath of fresh air. Thee ones were EXQUISITE. Never had an experience where I loved every single pour. Just fantastic! Must go especially if Pinot noir fanatic. I’ll be back! ;)

Loved the casual nature of this place. This is a hidden gem, unpretentious winery. We stayed at the Allison Inn & Spa and they recommended this winery. It isn’t high end but they make some good roses and pinots. Very inexpensive wines but good. The owner was very gracious and accommodating and shared some enjoyable stories with us. Definitely a must visit!

Easy to drink, fresh and bright Pinot. Had few bottles over Christmas, in a city boasting 30’sF temps… enjoyed the easy, fruit-forward drinkability. No complexity here, very smooth… Found without needing to go into WV — Pdx downtown store sold it. From what I understand, small batch producer, selling out of house in spacious and country-licious Newberg. PS i once had a friend from Mark Twain’s(SLC) birthplace with same surname, whom I met from Portland days. Mr. Clemens moved away to Hartford, and my friend got married, changing her name :)

Oregon pinot noir is my go-to favorite wine … and Ayres is hands-down my favorite provider. Every bottle we’ve sampled has had that perfect earthy-fruity quality I adore. If you can catch one of their open houses, do. Otherwise, do your best to get an appointment for a tasting. Or, if you’re fortunate enough to see their product on the shelf, just buy it. Ayres isn’t a big producer, which means you get to meet and talk to the people at its heart, each of whom is thrilled to share their passion with visitors. While my sister and I did a tasting this year, Brad(the winemaker) spent time explaining the winemaking process to my folks, showing off the grapes that were beginning the fermentation process. He also offered us a(very early!) sample of a rosé they’re planning to offer. It’s that kind of personal attention that makes me love Ayres all the more. I also love their liberal approach to a wine club. Rather than automatically shipping a predetermined selection on a regular schedule like other wineries, they let you build the case you want, and offer an ongoing discount so long as you order at least one case per year. This is not a hard hurdle for me to maintain; if anything, it’s harder for me to restrain myself to stay within what I can safely store once it arrives.

I can’t say enough about the gentleman(owner, who is now retired, but who still does the tastings) who provided our tasting. He was knowledgeable and friendly and a pleasure to chat with. The tasting room was very cool, although the space around the counter top was limited if there is a big crowd, we walked in just an a couple vacated a spot. Score! The wines were good — some of the better ones that I sampled in the Dundee area… I purchased a couple of bottles. In addition, the gentleman gave us a great recommendation for Dundee Bistro. We inquired about a place to grab lunch en route to the airport and he suggested that we stop at the Bistro and sit at the bar where we could watch the chef’s work. We were not disappointed! Thank you so much for such an enjoyable experience!

Love this place! Everyone makes you feel at home. Maybe because it is at a home. Makes it all the more better. Their wines especially the pioneer will knock your socks off! So amazing love the family. Thank you and cheers!

Rather than write a vintage review I just want to tell you that on the rare times this wonderful vineyard is open you should not miss the chance to go and taste some of Oregon’s very best wines. 2÷4÷2010
