I tuly love the ambience. I’ve been disappointed twice with the deserts. At Stomatitis In Astoria Queens NY, I’ve gotten use to the well heated and syrupy flavor drenched over and around. I hope they can begin doing the same.

I grew up eating Greek and Middle Eastern food. This is the second time I have eaten here. Yes, the gyro platter is HUGE, but if you enjoy wilted old salad, dry meat, and a ton of fries. We ordered Saganaki, the(slow– No Personality waitress) brought us Shrimp. After explaining what Saganaki is… she returned with the correct cheese-fried– but swimming in alcohol– Which is NOT supposed to be there. Moussaka had NOFLAVOR, and was burned on the bottom. We love good Greek food, and will not go back here.

Below average humus and service is super slow! We went in on a weekday for lunch and there were only two other customers at the time. But our orders were delayed by 40mins. We ordered humus, tzaziki, grilled calamari, chicken kabob. Humus and pita: this is the worst restaurant humus and pita I’ve had. It’s overly dry and humus is too chunky. Tzaziki: too citrusy. Grilled calamari: very fresh and deliciously cooked. Would recommend this as an appetizer. Chicken kabob: it took about 40min before we had our chicken kabob and it was unremarkable. However, the atmosphere and ambience were nice cause it’s next to a harbor.

We came here on Mother’s Day all the way from New Jersey because of its gorgeous location on the water and the reviews. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, ribeye and pork chops as entrées. All the food came out cold. The calamari had an after taste like it was fried yesterday and reheated before it was served to us. Pork chops were dry and tasteless. Also cold. The ribeye was so greasy and the only recognizable taste was the butter! Our waiter barely showed his sorrow with a simple apology. The 2 stars are the pita bread and the location. We were really disappointed for we wanted to have a nice lunch in a nice place.

I’ve eaten a lot of Greek and Mediterranean food in my lifetime. Probably more than others because I grew up in a place that had these restaurants and not much else. And I was privileged that it was all pretty good. This place is on par with those. It makes me think about the Greek food I grew up with. I usually eat very clean except for my cheat days, but I came to Mykonos on a day I was NOT cheating and had not a single problem finding something to eat. A great portion of grilled chicken, a Greek salad without dressing(sooo many vegetables FTW) and this really amazing cold steamed spinach made the perfect meal. I went in the cold weather but really would like to enjoy the waterfront seating soon!

I love nothing more then an affordable delicious meal with a great view! Randomly ended up dinning here with my boyfriend after finding out Billy Joe’s Ribworks had an hour long wait for a table for two… We sat immediately and were welcomed by several extremely friendly waitress’s. Gave us a basket full of soft warm pita bread with a side of olives in oil… Super yummy… We ordered some chicken and pork gyros that came on a plate with the ingredients separate so you put it together yourself like a fajita but with pita! All the parts were so fresh, well seasoned and just absolutely delicious with a side of fresh made fries… This amazing food while looking out at the water just made for a perfect date night!

We love Mykonos and it’s hard to beat the view! I cannot believe we finally have a real Greek restaurant in the area. We eat at Mykonos almost every week. The traditional Greek dishes like Moussaka and Spanakopita are as good as they come. They give you healthy portions which are reasonably priced. The Bronzino and Red Snapper are also fresh and very good, and we love the seasoned fries and oven roasted potatoes. The Greek desserts are also great and authentic. We have NOT had a need to go to the City or Astoria Queens for good Greek food since we discovered Mykonos. By far the best Greek food in the lower Hudson Valley. The owner George is a great guy and will make sure you leave happy and full :-) You should also know that many restaurants at the Newburgh waterfront have drafty windows and doors. We feel a cold draft when we sit by the window to enjoy the view at many other restaurants, but NOT at Mykonos! We have sat at most of the tables up against the large windows this winter at Mykonos, and never felt a draft. Almost all the other restaurants there have multiple drafts and we feel cold and have to move further inside and sacrifice the view. My wife is a draft magnet and always complains(I can feel them too) about it, but we never have that problem at Mykonos. It always feels perfect and the music is not loud. I don’t have to yell to have a conversation. As long as they make good food we will keep going back to Mykonos.

Food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Easily the best Greek restaurant I’ve ever been to and manager George and server Tiffany were so attentive and hospitable. Definitely will be back and would highly recommend.

This restaurant is traditional excellent Greek food, with many recipes actually coming from the managers mother in Greece. This is a small family owned business(which shoots it right up in my book) I would much rather help one family make their dreams come true than eat at a chain. I highly recommend this place to everyone! I also suggest those that have left negative reviews to research Greek food and try again. Some of these reviews I’ve read are absolutely amazing to me. In some of them half the descriptive words are spelled wrong, which makes me wonder how they expect someone to respect their opinion when they can’t even use spell check. Additionally many of them have unreasonable expectations of «Greek food» I’m guessing they’re referring to the food you get from a truck at a fair since they have no actual idea what they’re looking for.

Firstly I am bias toward a well maintained, clean, service oriented restaurant next to the Hudson River. Suffice that a seat on the patio is a must. Secondly the service was excellent. The hostess was prompt and courteous. The waitress provided just the ‘right amount’ of service, frequent enough not to feel neglected but not so frequent that I felt I was being hustled out the door. The food, in my case grilled octopus and eggplant appetizers were exquisitely prepared. In particular the octopus was grilled perfectly remaining tender and it was lightly seasoned. The eggplant was flavorful but not over salted. In point of fact rather than become a simple mass of flavor I could appreciate the flavor of eggplant amongst the additional flavors. Very, very good and I would highly recommend it.

Had lunch with my parents on the patio for under $ 80. They have Stella in bottles and Guinness on tap. The mousakka, spanikopita, and baklava are HUGE and tasty. Our waitress Samantha was quick and attentive and won my mom over by recommending the rice pudding.

I was a little anxious having read the other reviews however it was fantastic! Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Large portions all around so everyone in our party was pleasantly surprised pleased with their meals. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes Greek cuisiyor who would like to try it. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. Will definitely be on my list of restaurants to visit in Newburgh! Kudos to the kitchen and wait staff.

Good food, but sloooow kitchen. My spouse and I stopped by for lunch yesterday(a Sunday) at 1:40 pm and got our meals to go when they finally arrived at our table a bit more than an hour later. The complementary pita bread and Greek olives sustained us during our long wait. We did get our appetizer fairly quickly, but the Gigantes were unevenly heated. As for our entrees, the portions were huge, but my side of horta, boiled wild greens, was part warm and part cold. The Greek coffee was strong, but not served piping hot. My spouse doesn’t want to give Mykonos another try once they’ve been open longer and get into their groove, since the prices were rather high. Truly, we wish we’d gone for sushi next door at Akasaka.

Came here on a Saturday night because every other restaurant on the water front had an hour and a half wait. We were seated right away — a little worried that it was the only restaurant without a wait. Waiter was very nice and quick with everything. They had live music which set a nice mood in the restaurant. The food was very good — didn’t blow me away but very good. Started with the fried zucchini appetizer and then had the pork chops with lemon potatoes. I would definitely go back to avoid the long waits elsewhere.

We were looking forward to our first visit to Mykonos, as there’s not a lot of Greek choices here in the area, and they have a nice spot on the Waterfront in the former home of Havana. The grilled octopus appetizer was quite good, with tender chunks that had a nice crust on the outside with just the right touch of vinegar/citrus and Greek spices. A great start. Was looking forward to trying the Greek beer but they were strangely out of it(on a Friday night no less)-so went for one of the many choices they had on tap. Beer was fresh, but could have been colder. Ordered the traditional moussaka and souvlaki; the former was a very small portion, with way too much mashed potato and almost no eggplant or zucchini. Meat was well seasoned, and overall it was tasty but not what I expected. The Souvlaki wasn’t bad, but half the pork was very fatty, and the greek salad it came with had little greens and overloaded with tomatoes and cucumbers. Tzatziki sauce tasted pretty good, but was so thick it was hard to spread on anything. Fries were actually not bad, but shouldn’t have been the highlight of the dish. For $ 13 you do get a lot on the gyro or souvlaki platter, but most of our plate was hit or miss. Overall, a cheap night out on the Waterfront, but as far as Greek cuisine goes, Mykonos was ‘ok’, but not overly memorable. They are new, so hopefully quality will improve.

We were looking forward to a fine Greek Restaurant opening on the Hudson but were very disappointed in the quality and presentation of the food as well as the service. Although the salad and Saganaki appeitizer was ok, the taramasalata lacked the distinct flavor of this traditional Greek dish due to what appeared to be a lack of sufficient fish roe and salt. In addition, it was discolored. The chicken shish kebob was extremely tough, lacked flavor and appeared to have been refrigerated and then reheated. The Server was unfamiliar with the dishes and contrary to our request to not bring all the food at one time, continued to hurriedly bring one dish after another prior to our completing our appetizers, making our entire dinner feel rushed and uncomfortable. If there were lines of customers waiting to be seated this may be understandable but there was only one other couple having dinner at the time we were dining.

I’m a little disappointed in the place but perhaps it is because it just opened and needs to find its groove. Pros– –massive gyro platter, enough for two. –beautiful setting-right on the water. –tzatziki sauce is very good. –saganaki is good. Cons– –gyro slices are thick, just like meatloaf, and they taste a bit like meatloaf too. –There are no gyros, just gyro platters. –The gyro meat at the local Greek church festival is much better. –There are no Greek drinks on the menu except perhaps one. –No online menu(wow). –No online website(double wow) other than Facebook comments from others asking where the online menu is located. –Only two desserts listed on the menu. –Portions are too big for one person but unfortunately, so are the prices so you are really buying two meals in one. –The pulsating and loud American music does not mesh with the Greek taverna theme. This was the most disappointing aspect of the place for me. Overall, I may try Mykonos again in six months but for now, it’s got a ways to go.
