This branch is small but extremely well organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is cozy and has comfortable areas to perch. We started using the library over 25 years ago. My children grew up in there with Story Time for toddlers, and the summer reading for middle schoolers. Our trips to the NP Library became a part of our family routine. They have earned the loyalty of their patrons-which is most of the Newbury Park community. We only go to the T.O. branch if we need a book right away and it’s available in T.O.

Smallest library I’ve been to that’s connected to a business plaza. It does the trick of giving you free wifi and individual desks to study. But there’s not many books or computers at this library and the lighting indoors could be better. There’s an open room with a long table that’s where I found a quiet space to study with lots of room to spread out my books and laptop until a few people decided to sit across me and have a full on loud conversation with each other in the library. After that I got up and just left for an individual desk. Calabasas and west lake village library is way bigger and better in comparison if you have 15 mins to spare I would suggest driving out to those libraries.

The interior of the NP library is by far not as nice and updated as that of the Thousand Oaks location. The staff too are not as friendly and helpful. I am closer to this library but prefer to drive farther to TO due to what I’ve stated above. Management should aim to maintain a staff that is both professional and congenial to visitors coming to the library. They seem to pick staff that have attitude problems and who would rather not be bothered just like this Asian woman who always sits by the counter, face down on her cellphone seriously texting the time away. How pathetic is that.

The Newbury Park Library is a smaller branch library of the larger Thousand Oaks Library. It’s conveniently located at the corner of Borchard Rd. and Michael Dr. near the Alamo and IHOP, a quick jump off the 101 freeway. Don’t let the size fool you. This library is a loved and cherished part of the Newbury Park community and has an extremely helpful and friendly staff who will bend over backwards to assist you. They have Wi-Fi throughout the facility, a 75-person meeting room available for groups and routine storytimes and programs for kids and families. The adequate parking, integrated art gallery, police resource center, safe haven for kids after school and nearby restaurants, bank, drug store, donut shop and other businesses make this a great place to spend a couple hours or the whole day. I highly recommend it!
