The Children’s Orchard Store

The worst customer service I’ve experienced. I arrived for my appointment 20 minutes early and was told they weren’t accepting baby swings. Yet, last night they were. The woman behind the counter told me that she had 7 swings and counted them out for me. As if I couldn’t count. I responded «I wish you told me earlier. I just drove an hour and had to take it apart and load it in my car.» Her response was an aggravated sigh and rolled her eyes.
Then another lady came out and said «Let’s look at the things in your car.» She’s going through everything and saying «Nope, she won’t take this, won’t take that.» Now, I’m getting aggravated because I called the night before and they told me to bring everything there. Plus– I drove an hour.
She told me to get the clothes and bring them in. Which I did and she brought them back to the holy «Kate» who apparently is the God send to consignment stores.
So, I browsed the store and I hear this lady say is that her? So, this lady comes out to me, we go to my car, she proceeds to basically throw my stuff on the ground and say «We’re not going to take any of these.» No introduction, that’s it.
I ask her why not? She responds with «Maybe if they were in better condition.» I asked her what are you talking about. «She says they are soiled in spit up and poop.»
Let me make this perfectly clear. I am a Dreft nazi. If my children get something on their clothes, I change them and spray Dreft all over it and wash them immediately. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on my daughters clothes and they are all brand name so, I found this extremely insulting.
She takes out a pair of Carters pajamas and shows me the tiniest yellow mark which was clearly from storing them. At this point, she has gone too far and I have another hour to drive back home so, I tell her to f**k off. She clearly wasn’t thrilled about my response but, I think it was completely justified.
As I’m loading the stuff back into my car another lady storms out, throws more clothes on the hood of my car and storms off.
Save yourself a trip.
I went to Children’s Treasures in Revere and they bought everything from me, said it was in pristine condition and we had a laugh about them. Go check them out instead…

I was just in this store, and I can only say that the owner was outright hostile to me. Still scratching my head as to why, but she refused to speak to me, she refused to greet me, and when I said a cheerful goodbye, she stared at me – I said it again, and she continued to stare me down. She stared me down while I was in the store, too. I really am bewildered, but it made me feel terrible! I would never recommend this place to a friend (or enemy!)
