I’ve been going to medcare express for a number of years for initial triage on my medical issues. I’ve found that the quality of service has degraded pretty severely. In July this past summer I was looking for a referral, went through the rigamarole and was told I needed blood labs and they wanted me to see a neurologist. Without specific knowledge of this field, I differed to the medical knowledge and expertise of the team working at medcare. Which is where things started to go wrong. My labs were supposed to be received within days, and I was promised a call by the end of week. This call never came. When I had called on day 7– I was told that my labs had not yet been received. Mere minutes later when I walked in to express my disapproval my paperwork suddenly materialized. I checked in regarding the appointment they were supposed to make me and was told they were going to book it around my schedule. I provided detailed information regarding availability and I awaited the call to confirm my appointment. Months later the phone call came– not from medcare but rather from the specialist’s office asking me if I was aware I missed my appointment! Flash forward to the present day. I went in to get checked out and was left in a waiting room for 60 minutes before I met my doctor. The triage was drawn out and over simplified– I didn’t need a briefer on human anatomy to understand that I was sick! I was put on a breathing treatment for«5 – 7 minutes» and was left in a room for nearly 30 while hooked up to this machine before someone checked in with me! Having written off my afternoon by this point, I was pleased to hear that my prescription was already delivered to my pharmacy and I would be able to pick it up in mere minutes! I got a quick bite of lunch and checked in at the local CVS where they hadn’t received this information. Furthermore, upon hearing who my prescribing doctor was there was an audible groan from a number of pharmacists. Apparently in their experience this location has been anything but reliable! I called and asked for a re confirmation of the prescription and was met with attitude over the phone«we already did it» was the report I received. TLDR: Expect to wait unreasonably long periods of time, have medical terminology broken down into painfully simplified language, and don’t expect your prescription to be filled as promised. In fact, you’ll be better off with a hard copy of your prescription to eliminate any hassle.

This is the best place ever!!! I love it so much that I made Dr. Patel my PCP! He’s kind, gentle, and VERY, VERY intelligent. He frequently has med students/interns follow him throughout the day, as he is a teacher at heart. His office staff is just as sweet. In response to the negative comment, it is completely unwarranted. Along with integrity comes responsibility. Opioid abuse IS rampant… and since this facility is NOT the reviewer’s PCP, how is the doctor supposed to know his history? He fully admitted to «should have done» several things for his back pain, but failed to do so. Why is this the facility’s fault, to the point where he trashes the whole practice? Dr. Patel IS conservative. He just doesn’t hand out scripts(esp. antibiotics) w/o a true medical need… which is a great thing! Please ignore the negative review. It’s the reviewers own fault for not following up w/his PCP… and then waiting a day b/f vaca to deal w/his pain. I applaud this office for not just handing over opiates to an unknown patient w/chronic pain. Dr. Patel is a first-rate doctor!

I don’t have insurance and needed to see a doctor so I went to Medcare Express Urgent Care Clinic. Upon entering the office I wasn’t sure what to expect but It’s only $ 75 to be seen so I gave it a shot which I’m glad I did! I was very pleased with my entire experience. The office staff is friendly and informative. The medical assistant was very thorough as was the Med Student who evaluated me before I was seen by the doctor. Dr. Patel was very professional and thorough. He talked to me like I was on his level and was very easy going. Both the doctor and student took the time to listen to me and I never felt uncomfortable. The only complaint I have is the waiting room is very dingy and unwelcoming. It doesn’t look the cleanest or well maintained which I believe is only due to the fact that the furniture is old and stained and the waiting room is not decorated at all but aside from that if I need urgent care, I’ll definitely be going back to Medcare Express.
