Lobster tacos, salmon tacos, oysters, EVERYTHING is amazing here. Great beers on tap, servers are friendly and food is fast. Definitely best tacos I’ve ever had, hands down!

I’ve been to Wild Taco at least a half dozen times and I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. However here are a couple things to note: 1. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, their carne asada is the best. Doesn’t matter what you get it on, just get it. 2. Their fish of the day is always solid. If yellowtail is an option do yourself a favor and get it. 3. The Peruvian ceviche is amazing. 4. Gluten/grain free people rejoice because you can get your tacos in lettuce instead of tortillas!!! For everyone else, there’s also corn, flour, or wheat tortillas. 5. They don’t have their liquor license yet, so beware that their margaritas are made with soju, not tequila. :(That being said, their sangria is on point. 6. If you’re not in the mood for a taco, don’t fret. You can get a burrito, quesadilla, nachos etc.

This place is bomb. Ordered four tacos… Two on corn and two lettuce wrapped(great option!) Didn’t really care for the chicken, but the al pastor, Carne and Swordfish special were amazing!!! Super flavorful and fresh! $ 3 mimosas were great too.

Awesome newest restaurant by same owner as Wild Fish. Carnitas is amazing! The salads are gorgeously loaded with fresh ingredients for only $ 9.

Nachos were bomb but you might want to order a side of guacamole because they give u like one scoop for an entire platter of nachos. The Carne Asada tacos had fetta cheese and I was like Damm this is good. Lobster tacos I do not recommned. I was like. is this even lobster. The al pastor was . eh… if you’ve eaten it from tacos el gordo in San Diego and u know how gooooood it is. u wouldn’t want it from here. My sisters had the shrimp tacos and they said it was their favorite. And the shrimp ceviche was a PARTY in my mouth.

This place is a must when you’re in Newport Beach. I loved the variety of meat available and the option to go without the tortillas with lettuce wrapped tacos! All of types of meat I ordered came out perfectly cooked, each garnished with different veggies that compliment the meat. I had the carnitas, lobster, and scallops — I’ve never had scallop tacos before — and it was so tasty! Such a treat!

Went on a hunt for some great tacos. and that’s what we got. Hypes: — Can you say delicioso 5 times fast? that’s all that was going through my head as I was inhaling these tacos. — We ordered the Al Pastor(amazing), Carne asada(amazing), Fish of the day(okay), Mexi cauli(amazing), pollo asado(delicioso), carnitas(amazing). — Definitely get the grilled Cuban corn — Salsas — their house standard for the chips is fresh, refreshing, and flavorful… but don’t miss out on the salsa self self station in the back. From roasted onion salsa, creamy chipotle, tomatillo… they are all mind blowing. — Kid friendly. They have high chairs, seating outside, seating in the grass, and will even adjust high chairs to accommodate your kid at the higher tables. But no changing table. Gripes: — SLOW service. We waiting 40 minutes for our tacos. They weren’t really hot either, and we got our order of corn late. — I knocked off stars for the lack of organization for our order and the slow slow service for the tacos… otherwise the food here is legit and it was worth the wait

This place is freaking amazing! Once you walk in, you get a vibe that not many restaurants have. The décor sets it off as well as the simple menu. I saw Unilocal photos of the nachos and personally, I’m not a nacho person ATALL. I prefer fries, but when I saw the heaping mountain, I haaaaaad to try it! It came out ooey gooey yums with cheese and jalapeños, I got the order of half al pastor and half chicken. The nachos were so freaking good! Let me tell you bout their in house sauces. That shit takes the food to another LEVEL. It’s right when you walk in to the left, the creamy chipotle sauce, red and green sauce, omg. I’m sure that station is for to go orders but I couldn’t resist. I LOVESAUCES. Also +1 for cholula. I was with a table for 5 with my friends, 1 ordered tacos and the chamango on a stick, the other quesadilla, and the rest of us nachos. Needless to say, my fatass finished the nachos(sry i was hungry) and the others took em home. I tried a little bit of my friends’ pineapple agua and it was super good and refreshing as well! I would totally come back here.

This place is awesome. Wild Taco has taken the time to think through the entire menu and provide the best taco experience based on your primary choice of filler. Each taco option whether it be meat, seafood to garden has a special sauce and topping to go with it. Making your taco more than just a filler exchange. The taste sensations are a real experience not to be missed.!! Service is exceptional. Servers with real experience and opinions on the menu. What a refreshing compliment to such a tasty menu. The menu has more than just tacos. Try the corn and burritos! Oh, did I mention they have a bar??? World class Horchata and tropical mixed drinks to ensure something for everyone. Come and enjoy with confidence.

Wicked awesome find a block from the pier in Newport. Looks like a tin outhouse, but it’s filled with delicious spicy tacos and free foosball. Brilliant! We washed the carnitas, lobster, and kale(!) tacos down with something malted. Perfect.

Wow. This place was beyond delicious and a steal! Dylan was very welcoming and made sure everything came out fast! The fish taco(yellowtail) was extremely flavorful. My favorite were the lobster and al pastor tacos! Don’t miss the salsa bar like I did! Definitely coming back!

What’s the best thing after a run on the Newport Boardwalk? Fresh tacos and beer! It was a great way to cap off the day. Small, clean place with a cool beach feel. There was surprisingly no wait for our group of 8 for brunch on a Sunday. I got a carne asada, shrimp, and lobster taco. The carne asada wasn’t very good but the other two were solid, shrimp was probably the best. They give you the option of flour or corn tortillas. Also great customer service, no entitled waiters here!

I love Wild Taco! My favorite thing to order here is the Taco Salad. I recommend getting the grilled calamari on top. I’ve never had calamari this good before and would normally be hesitant to get it as a preferred protein topper to a salad but it’s an amazing combination!!! I also love the micheladas to drink. They had a homemade Bloody Mary mixed base that they add beer to and it’s delicious. I’m also a big fan of condiments and their selection of salsas makes a spicy fanatic like myself a happy girl. Not to mention the décor of this place is pretty unique too. They even have a foosball table to play with while you wait. Great addition to kill time since the place gets pretty packed around dinner time. I’m already a regular here but this place gets better and better each time! The staff makes each experience awesome as well. Felipe and Connor have waited my table a few times already and they really know how to provide great customer service.

Had the best summer day ending with WILDTACOS! Afternoon paddleboarding on the beach and ended up here with the help of my fellow Unilocalers. Came here and it was pretty packed at 6pm. There was luckily a few seats left and we didn’t have to wait. Ordered the food at the bar then sat down and waited for the food. There was a foosball table in the middle of the restaurant. The waitresses/bartenders were nice and fun. Very young and lively/loud vibe. RECOMMEND! Everything **Street Tacos: especially Loved the grilled fish & shrimp ones tasted so so good **Nachose were bomb and filling ***had to order the Mango on a stick + the Cuban style corn which made my day! They also have a selection of fresh juice & a full bar! Can’t wait to go again when I’m in the area!

I wound up here after seeing it’s from the same people as Bear Flag. It’s a small but pretty cozy space, and if you’re dining in you just sit yourself anywhere in the dining or bar areas. Service was rather slow on a Wednesday during lunch time, so don’t come here expecting a quick meal. The fish of the day was yellowtail, so I got one yellowtail taco, one al pastor, and one carne. The former two were impressive. The yellowtail($ 3.50) was cooked perfectly and definitely tasted fresh; the taco was also refined enough to not take away from highlighting the fish. I wasn’t keen at first on the abundance of diced pineapple in the al pastor taco($ 2.50), but I’ve since learned to trust the homie Rick Ross in these matters. The end result was a well-balanced flavor to complement the pork’s tenderness. The carne($ 2.50) was pretty standard, though, and I wouldn’t order it next time. I would definitely come back to Wild Taco if I’m in south Newport, especially when there are surprisingly few other enticing taco options here that I know of. I might get my tacos to-go though and enjoy them closer to the beach and without the slow service here.

Well I had heard good things so I had high expectations. I’m sad that it didn’t meet them. Upon entering the restaurant we weren’t greeted or told to sit. We eventually found a worker and they were not friendly at all. We found a seat and after a few minutes someone came and took our order. Each of the girls working came across annoyed and slightly rude. It made me feel slightly uncomfortable and not really welcome. When the food came they brought the salad and tacos, and forgot the corn. I eventually had to hunt them down 10 minutes later to get the corn, and the girl again acted very annoyed. Not how one should act ever. The food… Was really good. Which is kinda a bummer because the service was so horrible I don’t ever want to go back even though the food was great. If this place could work on service then it would be a killer restaurant. Until then a disappointment
