Unfortunately, this is the closest one to where I live. I will from now on drive rather than stop in here. They don’t understand the concept of a meal including hash browns. I have ordered a breakfast sandwich meal from here three times and been given just the sandwich. If this just happened once I could understand but almost every time I’ve ordered from here? Something is wrong with the workers at that point. One time I had to wait longer than needed for a breakfast sandwich. I believe that was the only time they actually got my meal order correct though. There were several workers there but it seemed like Lorenzo(I think that was his name) was the only one who actually knew what he was doing. He seemed frustrated at that fact as well and I don’t blame him. So, I’ve given this Dunkin donuts several chances to prove to me the previous times were just mistakes. I think I’ve only been happy with my experience once or twice and that was in May when I first started going to this one. I don’t recommend wasting your time at this location.

I love Duncan… but, this one is awful. I go out of my way to get to a different Duncan D. The place smells like old sour milk. The people in the drive thru are rude. The donuts taste like day-old. The place needs to be cleaned up!

Dunkin’ Donuts is perhaps the hallmark chain one thinks of when they think donuts. And as of yet I’ve never been disappointed whenever I eat my all time fave donut-the boston crème. So this negative review is not about the product, nor the location because they are smartly situated next door to CNU and Riverside hospital. This location is clean although very small with a tight squeeze continuing into the parking lots. My review is about the customer service here… or rather the way the employees treat each other. I can somewhat tolerate when one or two employees are moody or snappy but its another thing when employees behave so poorly that it just becomes straight up awkward for customers. The manager or supervisor chick here is just plain mean. I went here with my mom and sister to order a dozen donuts already on display. I should have known something was up when I came in and one customer was avoiding eye contact with the dude at the register. It was eerily quite. Anyway, to make things short one of the employees got an order wrong and the paying client pointed it out shyly saying he didn’t mind waiting for a new batch. The supervisor was pissed off at the cashier and just threw the new donuts in the trash. She exchanged some angry words and stormed off. She returned to ring us up and just threw the donuts into the box and shoved the box at us, storming off again. The original cashier just stood there in shock… like what the hell just happened. Overall, I know people have tough days but making a scene doesn’t help.

Waited for a solid 3 minutes in the drivethru at the speaker until someone was able to take my order. Placed my order and was given a price. Drove around where the same gentleman who had taken my order had to ask me again for my order and put it in the register. Then waited and was handed a to-go bag. Drove off and had someone else’s meal in my bag. I am very understanding that these mix up’s happen, so I ran back inside with the bag explaining that I was accidentally handed the wrong meal. The Manager was whom I was speaking to, she grabbed the bag out of my hand, said nothing, ran back and told someone in the kitchen to make my order, then came back out to the register without saying anything. I finally got my meal and received no apologies for any inconvenience, despite the fact that I waited almost 30 minutes for a drive-thru bagel. Disappointing service, to say the least.

I don’t come here expecting homemade, fresh-from-the-oven food. I come here expecting Dunkin Donuts. Maybe my lowered expectations are what make each visit such a joy. I’ve been through the drive-through here several times on my way to work. My service has always been impeccable. Cheery, polite employees are happy to serve. One time, they were out of my favorite coffee syrup, but we laughed through it as I rattled off more flavors that they were simply out of(due to a late shipment). They ended up giving me a free flavor and the whole experience just brightened my day. Breakfast sandwiches have consistently been delicious. I am a hoity toity foodie, but I love me some DD’s on a fast-paced day. Where else will you find unsweetened blueberry coffee???

The key word here, for me(not even going to the Blueberry cake donut part of this equation.) is turkey sausage. Cracker Barrel has excellent turkey sausage. I know what you are thinking. Turkey? Sausage? Who in the hell eats that? Isn’t that like faux pearls? I do. Usually it is not even close by horseshoes and hand grenade standards. I had given up on pork sausage, years ago, because it gives me a terrible belly ache whenever I eat it. So, turkey sausage is a compromise that I occasionally make for breakfast. Found the TS/E/C sammich that Dunkin offers by accident. It is OK. It is not great. Nor is it worth writing home about. I had my suspicions, that after this trip here, were made abundantly clear. Our visit today was not that inspiring. This unit is in a remodeled new style McAwful’s(they opened and closed it, to relocate to a better location). The dining area is small. Very loud. The free wifi makes the place a hangout for the college hipsters. The 2 cash registers are very close, resulting in a funnel effect. Customers get jammed together in the center of the small dining area. Resulting in their jumping in line ahead of others, and a lot of confusing noise, from the trying to talk over the noise level order taking interactions. I am not sure if Dunkin bakes their donuts here. One storefront, that I knew that they were made at, closed. It’s no secret here; Dunkin makes their donuts at a central location(as do many other donut chains), and ships them out to retail places. The place smelled of donuts. It did *not* smell of cooking eggs, bacon, sausage and the like. We ordered 2 of their TS/E/C sammichs, and requested that they be put on bagels, instead of English muffins. Our inattentive server, decided I did not need the mustard that I requested. Maybe she did not hear me, in the roar of the dining area. After we sat, and I discovered the missing items, the line at the order area had returned to being another cone of people. I got back into this line, and eventually gave up. It was the smell that made me finally think this through. I took my sammich apart, to put salt(no pepper to be found. Must be in the back with the mustard), on it, and noticed lots of things: Everything was dry; the eggs, sausage and the cheese. The cheese was dried out enough to be discolored(it was clear. You could see through it. A good sign that it had been microwaved into submission). Noting looked to have been cooked(eggs will have crisp edges. Sausage will have bits of cooked items from the grill on it). Everything looked sterile. Then it hit me. This sammich reminded me, terribly so, of the ‘free’ breakfast that we get offered at any given hotel. Frozen bags of ‘omlets’ and bland scrambled eggs; none of which offer any look of having been cooked(unless microwaving something burns the edges to a crisp). I can’t say for sure. I could not stick my head into the kitchen, or to take a look behind the counter. I highly suspect that the items, in my Turkey sausage /egg /cheese sammich all came pre-cooked in bags, that were microwaved, and tossed together. It was the smell, or lack there of, that gave it away. Had the place smelled of cooking bacon, I could have been served Charlie Chaplin’s shoes, and I would have been happy as could be. … Dear Dunkin Donuts: Take a hint from the Pepperidge Farm store in Williamsburg. They toast a piece of raisin bread, and set it in front of a fan. It fills the store with the smell of cinnamon toast. People walk out of there thinking they had gone to bread hebbin. Put some bacon on, in the back. Fan the smell into the lobby… Damn it. That’s a shame. I had such high hopes for this. The Bluebery cake donuts will keep me coming back. Those I can smell… Your mileage may vary. Mine, unfortunately, did. @Removeyourhat
