Heads up — this place actually had a name change to Craft 60. Didn’t eat here — but came for drinks for my birthday while vacationing here. We went to a few different bars over this weekend, and hands down, the best atmosphere. But most importantly, if you want superior customer service compared to other bars in this area, this is the place to go! The patio is super chill, and even as settled down almost 30 year olds, my husband and I still had a good time. We rely on reviews on Unilocal when we travel, so I felt inclined to let everyone else know that if you just want to go somewhere and chill while throwing back some drinks, don’t bother anywhere else.

Sketchy location. Other than that, fantastic! The food was carefully thought of and prepared as ordered. Absolutely perfect shrimp. The beer selection was in depth and various. The bartender was very knowledgeable on all drinks and food. Their music selection was the best! Karl Werne jammed out everything from the Beatles, to his awesome originals. Best restaurant in Newport News!

Management change did this place some major good. The repaint really makes the place seem bigger airier, and the deck looks like it will great for warmer weather. Despite the name, it IS open week nights. Brandon is a great bartender, but he hid when I took the photos. Lol!

I went to this bar all the time. It was a great place to sit and chill with all the great regulars that came in. You had the around the world challenge. Mugs you could design and hang up to use when you came in. Awesome place before they changed it into something it wasn’t. I mean come on it was the only bar I had ever seen with shuffle board in it. Trivia night was great. Now it’s all gone. No plaques with your name on it from before. Its not the same.

This is now a whole new place! What a change from the old menu and environment. Definitely a recommend! The menu seems nicely focused but with good options that are nicely presented. I hope to work my way thru the menu to see what the chef does best!

I ‘ve only been twice, the first time I went I had to ask the bartender twice for a menu, then when I didn’t leave tip because of one bartender’s attitude another bartender actually came and asked me about it(TIPISSOMETHINGEARNEDNOTAUTOMATIC). The second time I went the female bartender said something about it even though that was water under the bridge by then. I can probably say I won’t be returning to this place.

Not a bad place, really. The food I had was pretty bad but it was really cheap during happy hour so I can’t complain really. Trivia night is pretty lame and it can get pretty packed but they have a good beer selection and a table shuffleboard which is pretty cool.

LMAO… the weekend pub is a LOCAL hangout. Donnie G from California is obviously a bit too stuck up to hang out here… and I guarantee you that NONE of the locals that hang out here will miss her presence. This place is like Cheers. To those of us that frequent the place, it is like home. It is not perfect. The employees are humans and they have personalities. If you are a douche, I recommend that you stay away from this place… mainly because I don’t like douches hanging out at my place… of course, if you are a douche, you probably don’t know that you are and you will show up anyway and fuck up my night.

What can I say. This place might not look like much, but it’s kind of a jewel in the rough. My disclaimer is that is my local watering hole. The food is pretty decent«bar food» Certainly not what you would call fine dining, but if you want a bar burger and onion rings… check it out. The real call is the beer selection. They have a nice assortment of bottled beers from around the world, and an inventive selection of draft beers from craft breweries across the country. What I like the best about this place is if you go more than twice, pretty much everyone remembers your name. Friendly wait staff. Very unpretencious place to let you guard down and just chill.

I love this place. It’s homey, small and fun with loads to keep the regular bar patron busy. I love the shuffle board, cornhole, the darts and the Thursday night Pub Quiz. They also occasionally do an open mic or a band on the weekends. Not entirely my style because the bar seems to get cramped really quickly and the music is too loud for such a small place. They have great beer, seriously, something to please everyone — except on tap. That selection is slightly lacking. The food is pretty good. I’ve had the chicken pot pie there and an appetizer sampler. It’s bar food, in a bar. Not exactly something I can complain about.

The Weekend Pub is one of those places that feels a bit like a secret or a secret organization. Like you would walk in and they’d say to you, «The first rule of The Weekend Pub is you do not talk about The weekend Pub.» But alas, this isn’t the case. The Weekend Pub is a cool, slightly quirky restaurant that features live music, pool, karaōke certain nights, and a huge menu of import bees from all over. In fact, they have a sort of drinking«game» you can play wherein you get a list of international beers checked off one-by-one until you’ve gone«around the world» or whatever. This I’d actually a really cool thing about the place, and you can tell you’re mostly amongst regulars when you walk in.

Best Trivia Night in Newport News, hands down. Norris, the bar owner, is one of the greatest guys I’ve ever met! He’s awesome, the bar is awesome, and the trivia will kick your a$$. Great Thursday nights! Lots of good drink deals too.

we arrived, walked in and sat down, our ding-bat waitress took our drink order and then proceeded to forget about us for about 5−7minutes. Not busy enough to merit this… I look at her, she then realizes that she has forgotten us, she brings the drinks over. my tequila sunrise was YUCKY. My friend said her whiskey sour was decent. My friend is an entertainer and was wanting to drop off a packet for the trash bag manager. The dingbat waitress took forever to tell the trash bag manager that we were there to see her and then the trash bag just looked at us for the next 10 min and never was able to tear herself from the cash register staring haze she was in to come talk to us. Dingbat waitress cashes us out, makes some weird comment about people staring at her butt and gives us a 10 dollar bill and .50 cents in change… u decide what her tip was. EPICFAIL

The Weekend Pub is a small bar/restaurant in Newport News VA. The owner and staff are always friendly while the food is tasty. The reason I go is for the beer, although they do have a liquor license. The selection is always in rotation — depending on the season. Usually 6 or 7 beers on tap and 50+ more in bottles. It’s the only place with table shuffle board, darts, a fireplace, outside seating, and corn hole in 757 I know about. There is something for everyone at this little bar. Check it out.
