I wasn’t sure what to expect so… when you look for it, it appears to be at the end of a shipping yard near a pier. It was a foggy morning but I expect on clear days the view is amazing. Speaking of amazing, I had a ham omelette with cheddar, tomato and onion. It was fantastic. I was the only one here for much of my breakfast. You order at the counter and find your seat. The gentleman who cooked my food was very friendly and gave excellent service.

This place is a hidden jewel. Great views, excellent food, and fantastic service in the middle of a working shipyard. We had breakfast but the lunch menu looks just as good. FYI you have to order at the counter then wait at your table for them to call you.

Loved this place! We were making a quick visit to Newport and were eager to see more of the Newport Shipyard. Who knew that a wonderful lunch spot was located just where we wanted to be, which was inside the shipyard. We were enthralled with the ships and the building going on there. Wow. Huge. We loved having a reason to enter and even happier once we found Belle’s. We enjoyed a bowl of the chef’s clam chowder, more than enough to satisfy our hunger, while watching some of the local goings-on. Prices are decent especially considering the location. Highly recommend!

With its beautiful setting on Newport’s waterfront, its the perfect spot to enjoy a lobster roll chocked full of sweet, tasty meat.

Interesting location in the shipyard, definitely off the beaten path. Loved sitting outside with the large yachts and sailboats docked in front of me. There are no waiters/waitresses, order your food and beverages at the counter. I went with a group of 7 and all of our food came out hot and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It’s not your typical restaurant but the location makes up for not having a server, just be sure to go on a day with nice weather as the inside seating is rather limited.

Overall, great location to have a tasty breakfast in Newport. Nothing too complicated and everything was tasty. Tables right by the ships made the longer walk to the shipyard worth it. The granola, eggs and coffee did the trick. Opt for one of the omelettes if you need a bit more. Would go back.

Hard-to-find, it’s in the actual shipyard on the water but there is no sit down service, there are tables next to the water. Croissant, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was extremely greasy and overpriced, double to triple anywhere else you would get one. The croissant was extremely stale and the fruit cup was dried and semi-rotten. Coffee was terrible, acidic and bitter. The staff was extremely rude from the second you walk up to the counter. Huge attitude, especially from the chef, no courtesy whatsoever.

Came here w 5 of my girlfriends and we all enjoyed our breakfast experience. There was a line to order but it was well worth the wait. The food was delicious. Only complaint is that they don’t have mimosas but we were probably better off without! Great juice selection and anywhere with fresh squeezed orange juice is good in my book. It has a nice view of the harbor and fun people watching. There was a a paddle boarding competition going on the day we were here but still plenty of seating. All in all a good experience. We will definitely be back.

Loved this place. You sit outside amongst the boats in the shipyard. Dog friendly. We had the crab cake Benedict which was amazing and the ricotta pancakes(was the special) these were good but a bit dry. Everything was reasonably priced. A good go to breakfast place!

This is a great addition to breakfast/brunch options in downtown Newport! The food was yummy and reasonably priced(well, kinda — details below), and the location is totally unique: tables right next to docked yachts! Very informal, very cool. They get 4 stars instead of 5 because of the detective pricing: the food rings up at 20% more than he posted price! I had to ask to learn that it’s due to a 12% service charge and 8% tax. This fact is not clearly posted and none of the employees volunteer the information. They really ought to be more clear about it – a sign on the register and another one next to the chalkboard menu would do it. In summary: this is a lovely place to spend a summer morning with friends and tasty food. Even with the surreptitious price inflation, it’s not going to break the bank.

To be honest, given the surroundings, I would not have expected so affordable an establishment; in the shadow of yacht after yacht is this nice little dinerish joint(although an unmistakably fishy brackish odor permeates the parking lot and street outside) However, the sunny pier and the lounge-y chairs and basking in the glow of yachts owned by people who could buy and sell me a few times over made for a relaxing sunday morning. As it was Sunday brunchtime, the line was long and we were told it would take 30 minutes for food to be ready. We wandered off to starbucks but when we came back some 30 minutes and change later, the food was off to the side wrapped in aluminum foil, so I guess the service goes faster than they expect? Not exactly their fault, so not kicking em, just noting that you probably don’t need to wander off even if the line is pretty big The food was quite good. The homefries were highly highly beloved by my friend(just for emphasis, HIGHLY). The croissant-egg-mozzarella sandwich I had was, as one might expect from delicious ingredients of croissant, egg, and mozzarella, quite good. The fruit cup was pricey at 4 $ but the fruit was quite good. On the topic of portion sizes, my only complaint would be is that the portion sizes are on the small side; perhaps it is just the intended audience is not twentysomething hungry eater, but breakfast to me, is a meal of plenty. Dainty meals are great, but not dainty eggs or dainty homefries portions. It is probably worth it to double down on the side dishes In the end, I guess the experience is 5 star even if the parts were not all 5 star each; whole being greater than the sum of the parts and all.

Had a great breakfast at Belle’s! The omelette was fantastic and the home fries were incredible! They have tons of choices there and you cannot beat the view! 100% suggest coming here!

The location is amazing, next to beautiful,(very) large boats, and in the now-fashionable Newport Shipyard. The breakfast food is very good, although the people taking the orders could benefit from some customer service training.

Great atmosphere, love the food, highly recommend it. The restaurant sits on the pier, set up for rich boaters. You order on line and are handed a beeper to pick up your food. The outdoor seating is communal or not. The price was reasonable the help was friendly, the mandatory tip I get but don’t understand. Go and enjoy the food, love the view and atmosphere. Only open for breakfast and lunch. I had the stuffed cream filled French toast, great.

I loved my lunch at Belle’s Café. It is clean, comfy and the food is delicious. An added plus is that there is practically no wait. We ordered and got our food within fifteen minutes.

Hidden in the shipyard, so low traffic and no wait, and tasty brunch! GETTHEHOMEFRIES! It was loud in there — music was playing loudly and ESPN highlights playing on both televisions — Husband was loving it! It wasn’t crowded, and had a very«shipyard-ish» vibe — felt like we were surrounded by regulars, and were identified as «first-timers» as soon as we walked to the wrong side of the counter to place our order(we were kindly shown to the correct side). I ordered scrambled eggs and pancakes. The eggs were standard scrambled eggs, and the pancakes looked really good, but were a bit undercooked! Though they were still delicious! Husband ordered the breakfast burrito. Which came with the fries. Just the right amount of seasoning on these little gems… delish! I’d go back for these alone. Overall was a great spot off the main drag. Would go back.

Undoubtedly the best place for breakfast in Newport. The location is wonderful and outdoor sitting on the dock with huge ships docked around you is quite a look. The service was fast and all the order was delicious. Go for it.

Be aware that Belle’s Café adds a 12% tip automatically to every bill without telling you. I think this is actually illegal. They then also have a tip jar, this is just gall. Food? Is only ok. It’s very overpriced though. Crab cakes were okay. Lobster rolls were very small and bland. No flavor. Pass on them. Place might have gotten 3 stars(two for location and one for food) but I deducted one due to their shady billing practices. If not for the view it’s a one star place that doesn’t warrant repeat business.
