It’s a cute little coffee shop! Nothing too special, nothing too horrible, just average. They do have almond and soy milk for the vegans out there, but no other food choices really. Overall: it was an average place. I would go again but would likely try another coffee shop.

Cute little coffee shop with friendly service. Always a fan of the mom and pops. Delish iced coffee hit the spot after a fun filled evening the night before. I can’t remember if I made it a Red Eye or a Black Eye. Learned that 3 shots is a Green Eye. I hope I never need that much caffeine. lol… Will definitely give it another Joe Go when in the area.

Super friendly and fast service here. We were looking for iced coffee in the afternoon and after a few failed attempts we stumbled upon Mokka. Check it out if you need a coffee/tea or pastry.

Totally cute coffee shop! The hubby and I indulged in 2 flat whites(espresso with steamed, not frothy milk) and we were totally blown away. They have a large assortment of different types of coffee and sugars(honey, agave and liquid sugar). You can also find a decent variety of sweet treats. The space is tiny so I can see where it could get very crowed. There are only a handful of tables. Also this is a cash only establishment.

Mokka is cozy, charming, and fun both inside the coffee house and in the small outdoor seating area right on Thames(good people watching!). As the coffee lover that I am, I was excited to finally try this place after walking by it about a millions times on various trips to Newport over the years. It had always caught my eye with its great signage(WELOVETHECAMELS) but it wasn’t until a recent weekend in Newport that I finally made it in. We were about to go sailing for the day and wanted to pick up some coffee and snacks. Right away I noticed the pastries on the counter to the right of the entrance and picked up a chocolate croissant and a bacon and cheddar scone. The large handwritten menu on the wall was colorful and easy to read. I was thrilled when I saw they had cold brewed coffee and immediately knew that was what I would be getting. I was also curious about some of the more unique flavor shots they had available, like the marshmallow, so I tried it(only a ½ shot though, so it wouldn’t be too sweet). The pastries were delicious, especially the chocolate croissant. I can’t remember the last time I had a chocolate croissant that was that good! My cold brew was disappointing though. It was very weak and tasted watered down. I wondered if it was even cold brew. My friend’s Icehouse(cold brew with shots of espresso) was much more my pace and I stole a few sips after throwing out my coffee. Also, the girls behind the counter were snappy and unpleasant to everyone. They looked overwhelmed. Still, I’m willing to give this place another to see if maybe it was an off day… especially for another chocolate croissant.
