Ummmm, WOW! The flavors at Corner Café is a cross between that best feeling of your life and paradise. The setting of the café is New England charm. The energy in the establishment is everything I needed to start my day on a positive note. It’s like a bed and breakfast without the bed! I sampled the Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast and eggs benedict. My only regret is that I didn’t eat my breakfast slower to prolong my exceptional experience. BZ! Job well done, ladies!

The Quick: A true 5-star meal. Get the Vermont omelette, sweet, savory, and out of the ordinary. Enjoy endless coffee in big Instagram worthy mugs and a cozy atmosphere. Get here early, the line grows quickly. The Details: When there’s a line for a brunch spot at 10AM on a Saturday, you know it’s going to be good. The three of us absolutely loved our meals! The Vermont omelette was by far one of the most interesting and delicious breakfast items I’ve ever eaten; Sweet caramelized apples and walnuts with savory cheddar cheese and sausage. Plus their potatoes baked with homemade seasoning is basically some sort of drug. Addicting to say the least. The service was great and the restaurant was very homey and welcoming. The Damage: about $ 20 each after tax

Not only did this staff put up with our large(ish) group’s shenanigans, they have other commendable attributes. Here are just a few: Fresh on my mind is the pizza, since I just devoured the leftovers. The Deuce, which consists of smoked salmon, goat cheese, capers, zucchini, and DILL(What? Amazing.) is the best guilt-free pizza you will ever have. Order it on whole wheat … you won’t even taste it under all that flavor. My husband and I got out of there with a $ 37 bill, which rarely buys you a quality, healthy dinner around here. Included were both of our $ 2 corkage fees — reasonable. This, of course, means they are BYOB. They brought us a wine bucket full of ice for our white, folks! There are healthy options and pleasant servers. The cooks in the kitchen know how to prepare things … they do flavor/texture well. Breakfast is also delish here. *Just a note, the restaurant is tiny. There is a chance you’ll wait, but there’s a fireplace right inside the door :)

Quality food, fresh and hearty portions. The staff is wonderful, totally worth a 30 minute wait this morning the food moves as fast as the staff and tables open quick. The music is great! Sang the entire time! The only thing keeping this from a 5 is the extra charge for almond milk for the coffee. My girlfriend is allergic to dairy and we had to pay extra. The foods amazing and staff are super friendly I recommend if you’re in Newport stop in! You wont regret it D

Amazing spot for brunch! Just be prepared to wait if you plan to go on a weekend. We had a great service and delicious food and coffee.

Good breakfast spot, but very busy and the tables were really close together. They also serve dinner and you can bring your own wine. Be prepared to wait outside in the cold for a table.

The home fries will have me going back anytime I’m in the area – red potatoes with crispy edges and plenty of seasoning. The rashers were AMAZING – my first time having them! And I must find somewhere around me where I can buy them. The eggs were not cooked the way I like them but since the potatoes and rashers was so good, I kind of didn’t care. We went twice while we were in town. I ordered french toast one day and pancakes the other. Neither were good and I left both on the table after a couple bites. I like eggy french toast – this was just barely dipped in the egg and was basically bread on a plate. The pancakes were fine but nothing exciting. Admittedly, I am a pancake snob since I make them regularly at home and use a recipe I love made with sour cream. When we go back, I’ll know what to order. Even off season this place was busy. We are early risers so we were able to get seated right away but while we were eating there were people waiting as it got later.

This place was really great! Atmosphere and food were amazing. Maybe the best home fries I’ve ever had. They’re boiled, slightly fried, and then then covered with roast herbs and garlic.

Is there a line outside? Yes? Three words for you: worth the wait. Give them your name and wait. My husband and I had our first meal of 2016 here and would highly recommend checking it out when you are in town. We drove past it a few times while in town and there was always a crowd outside. We did make it in for brunch and ‘Twas TASTY! We both ordered the beast(eggs your style, toast, home fries, choice of two meats, and two plain pancakes) plus coffee. If you’re getting pancakes, pay an extra $ 1 for the maple pecan butter. YUMMMM! I could drool just thinking about it. The pancakes were just so lovely and homey! Go for the food, stay for the kind service. The only thing lacking was the coffee(just not strong enough). Plus, any place that gives you three hot sauces with your breakfast without asking if you want it is my kinda spot!

Totally hats off to Corner Café in getting 11 very hungry Senior Enlisted Academy students in their restaurant last minute! They were so great about getting us in. What’s great about it was that we got to all sit in the back corner of their restaurant, which was a tight fit, but awesome for our group. I’ve got the chance to eat here twice and I ended up getting the same thing: Portuguese Sweet Bread Scramble. It was unlike anything I had before, and it was delicious! I’m not sure if I could try anything else, it was that good. Coffee was amazing! I’m pretty sure the best cup of coffee during my trip to Newport! I’m not sure what kind it is or how it was brewed, but I guess I really don’t care. I could see myself coming here just to sit down for a cup of coffee and be totally okay with that. Well, I don’t think I could not order something to eat. Loved the way we were taken cared of! Not only that, but someone bought all of our drinks. If they could read this, I would tell them thank you from the bottom of my heart and thanks for the support for the military! Random act of kindness is amazing and we all need to pay it forward! The reviews are legit and this place is legit! Great food, great customer service, and great prices!

Manager/owner was very nice, but our waitress really sucked at her job! Two other parties seated after us and she took their order first. While placing our order, she began to rush us through the process. The food is great, something worth waiting for. We had the eggs Benedict, pastrami sandwich, and your basic breakfast for kids. The pastrami was served with mushrooms and onions, something I have never seen or eaten before. I must say, it was a winner!!!

I would try this place again for sure. We got really lucky with timing, no line, no wait for food and friendly service. The food and specials were different and interesting and good. I had bites of everyone else’s and they were likewise good but nothing over the top.

Came here to grab a bite to eat before heading back home after a weekend here. Let me tell you the food in the pictures definitely look simple and plain because that’s what I had thought at first but this place has mastered the art of simple and their food was far from plain. I had the Irishman omelette which was a huge delicious portion. Just like others have mentioned before, the potatoes were delicious and I ordered the spiral rye bread which paired wonderfully with the rest of my breakfast! My husband got the platter with the different Irish meats which was also super delicious! We would definitely love to come back. It was a wonderful and relaxing stop before heading home!

Not a bad little spot for breakfast, but get here early because the lines build up! I got the average omelette with feta and ham, and a side of home fries with toast. Really solid breakfast, but nothing out of the ordinary to make me go wild. I will say, however, that the portions are big — VERY filling meal!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. service was excellent until it was time to get the check– not too bad just took a while. Everyone’s dishes in our group were absolutely delicious. Just a heads up — the stuffed French toast is huge ! Lots of fresh fruit ! I had the eggs Benedict which were perfectly done and spiced excellently. The best part of the meal was the«homefries» which are really just roasted potatoes in an amazing herb blend with garlic and oil. Absolutely amazing. Small place had to wait 30 minutes for a table. I suggest getting there after the breakfast crowd around 11:30/11:45. The restaurant was decorated nicely and very open. Super comfortable seating.

When we pulled up to the Corner Café and there was a line out of the door at 10AM on a Friday, we knew it was something special. This cozy café has awesome food inspired by the employees’ Irish roots and some Portuguese influence. We were seated fairly quickly and the staff were amazing. They became fast friends with my Irish colleague and took the time to speak to us despite the morning rush. The food is fantastic. I had a Portuguese egg’s Benedict that was out of control(chorizo, fresh hollandaise, bolo bread) and my Irish compatriot had some french toast with some traditional rashers and potatoes. She was not disappointed. The iced coffee was great(they’ve got a number of specialty mixed coffee drinks, too), and the food came out super quickly. I’ll absolutely be back here if I’m in Newport. In fact, some locals we chatted with while in the town raved about this café as well. It was the perfect way to start off a morning after a late night, and I look forward to going back.

Cute cute cute and homey! I love small towns, small businesses, and big breakfasts. I love that this breakfast place was spot on! Exactly what you would expect — clean, warm, friendly waitresses, cozy décor, and a generous portion of food. I decided to build my own scramble and it was pretty tasty, but seems like something I could just make myself. It wasn’t fancy by any means, but this is a very solid option if you’re in town and want something hearty before you visit the fancy houses.

Today is my lady’s birthday so I wanted to do something special for her so we went to Newport! I was looking for a good breakfast place and found the corner café! This place was rated 8.9 so I had to gps it to see what the fuss was about! It was raining so we found parking and walked there near the police station! It was crowded and we just waited 10 minutes for our seats! The people are friendly and the place it super clean! Service was amazing and people are pleasant! The food arrived hot… All portions of it that is very special to me! Delicious Delicious Delicous! We will definitely be back!

A bit wait on a sunny summer Saturday morning, which is tolerable. The vibe was good — nice décor and atmosphere. The bistro scrambler was huge; I didn’t feel very hungry until late afternoon. They’re were quite a few hot sauces available and I enjoyed them. 2 hour free parking spots could be found along the street without difficulty.

By far one of the best brunch spots I’ve been to. I tried the portobello scrambler and the smoked salmon benny and both were amazing. Both dishes came with a side of homefries which was seasoned to perfection. The eggs laid beautifully on top a whole portobello mushroom creating the perfect ratio of eggs to mushroom with every bite. My friend’s salmon dish was the breakfast special and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The drinks were my only complaints. The quencher is a mix of grapefruit, lemonade and orange juice but I mainly tasted orange juice. The hazelnut turtle latte consisted of mocha, hazelnut, caramel, espresso and milk but the caramel overpowered all the other flavors. Overall, no wait, good service, excellent food. Definitely don’t hesitate to try it out!
