Did not eat here, but went to a birthday party with around 50 guests and they did a wonderful job, and it is definitely somewhere I would like to go again.

Awful! It took 40 minutes to get lunch for 3 people. When the food finaly came, mine was overcooked and my boyfriend’s was soggy. We both got really, really sick that night! Never again will I step foot in a Claddagh’s! Disgusting!

Claddagh was a great choice for my birthday dinner! I have been here a few times for work get togethers and we’ve brought my grandma here in the summer to sit on the awesome patio so I was excited to come here for my birthday. Of course it was to cold and rainy to sit outside last night but sitting inside is just as good. We started with drinks and the pretzels with beer cheese. I’m more of a mixed drink person then a beer person so I got a blackberry lemon drop with was so good! The pretzels never disappoint, they are always soft and fresh. For dinner I got the Irish beef stew and I added a cup of clam chowder. The chowder was super thick and very delicious. The helping you get with the beef stew is crazy! I could only eat like half of it! All around we had a great time at dinner and it made for a really good birthday!

Orded one drink and the manager decided my friend had to much to drink and cut him off so we left and went to anther bar. So we canceled the $ 75 worth of food we orderd. The lady at the end of the bar couldn’t keep her head off the bar but my friend needed to be example so we left.

No matter what your ordered, you’ll enjoy it. I always order the Corned beef and cabbage but the Sheppard’s pie and Gaelic chicken are great too.

Decent pub food. AMAZING views if you sit outside. Good service, good drinks and happy hour. On Mondays: fish&chips are 2for1, nice! It is good to stop by when you are in the area, but I cannot say I dream of coming back to this place. The fish sandwich or fish and chips are OK for a quick dinner, same for Shepherd’s pie. Some weeks ago my husband ordered half broiled chicken and it came raw, which kept us away for a while. The manager dealt with it very well, but I will be coming back mostly for the fish ;)

Claddagh Irish Pub has standard pub fare with an Irish flare. Claddagh is very conveniently located at Newport on the Levee. If it is a nice day they have a nice outdoor seating area with a view. Service is generally good. They have a full bar with delicious greasy appetizers. They have some very Irish dishes(like Sheppard’s Pie) and general pub food like burgers and sandwiches. Of note, they do have delicious homemade veggie burgers. The Monte Cristo is a sweet and savory option. Lunch/dinner might not be very healthy hear but it is pretty good.

Brought my visiting parents here for lunch the day after labor day. Had a fantastic lunch sitting on the patio listening to the cicadas. I had the sausage stew, mom, the Irish stew and the old man ate the shepherd’s pie, all lunch portions, with the corned beef and cabbage rolls as a starter. The good was excellent, beautifully presented and well flavored. Washed down with a few choice drafts and combined with perfect weather, we could not have made a better choice for a lunch. Kudos to Andy, our bartender/waiter for the day who made our visit exceptional. Highly recommended to anyone within driving distance or visitors to the levee and aquarium, our even downtown Cincinnati across the purple people bridge

Decided to stop by here after the Geotta Fest there having in Newport. I was with my friend Steve and girlfriend Toey. I drank here long time ago, got waisted and tried to run down the hill on Newport wall on the levee and fell and rolled down the rest of the way, but that was a long time ago. Onto what we ordered. We already ate at the Goetta Fest. So Toey and I ordered a glass of Cabernet Washington 6 dollar not too bad price. We also order a cheese cake. Steve order just wine. I will come back here for dinner next time.

We came here to celebrate J’s 27th birthday it was a beautiful night so we decided to sit on the patio which was nice however the tables we very crammed together I felt as if we were right on top of the people next to us. For the drinks I got the«berry sexy» which was so not worth the $ 7.50 it tasted like water and tequila no berry flavor what so ever. Should have just stuck with the beer like everyone else. For food we got the loaded pub chips for an app and they were okay at best the cheese sauce they put on it had absolutely no flavor the«seasoned“sour cream was not seasoned what so ever. For dinners Jon and Dave got the fish and chips(by far the best thing we got here) Linda got the goat cheese salad which she said was not very good the deep fried the goat cheese into something that looked like a veggie burger. I got the Gaelic chicken then veggies were good however everything else was under seasoned… However there portions are HUGE. But I think next time I’m on the levee I will try some place else before I got back to the pub.

We stopped by hoping to grab a quick bite and some drinks one night. We had about 35 minutes and thought we could maybe get an appetizer and a drink before we had to go. We were seated and waited about 5 minutes to be helped initially. We sat outside, they have a beautiful patio facing the Ohio river. Our drink order took over 10 minutes and in fact the table next to us were seated and served waters by another waiter before our drinks were brought out. Our waitress disappeared for another 10 minutes or so and by then we asked for our check so that we could make our other plans. We also let the waitress know we had a time limit and she was back with the check quickly. However, we were paying cash and had to wait another 5 – 6 minutes for her come back for it. Now we were much more critical of the time than we would usually be because we had somewhere to be — but we just didn’t feel like our business was all that appreciated. Our waitress was nice, just not all that attentive. That being said our drinks were wonderful and the patio beautiful.

I went to this place because I wanted Irish fare. I stupidly ignored a lot of the reviews and went in with an open mind. It took seven minutes for a server to take our drink order. We ordered pretzels as an appetizer(the only review I didn’t ignore raved about them). They came out stale and lukewarm. The cheese was extremely thin and runny. My Monte Cristo sandwich was okay. At least the breading was hot. The middle was a little cooler than I’d like. My partner ordered«loaded pub chips». I have no other words for them other than«Dear Lord why?» They were terrible! The Buffalo wings were small(which seems to be Cincinnati standard) and extremely dry. I did not taste them as I do not like Buffalo sauce, but judging by my partner’s face while eating them(a perpetual look of someone who can smell nothing but fart), I am guessing they didn’t taste very good. Also, on a side note, the bathroom was a nightmare. What stalls that weren’t occupied has clogged toilets and made me feel filmy and disgusting just walking into it. I won’t be returning!

the best thing about this place has to be their hours and their wait. i believe that every time i’ve been here, i’ve been avoiding the wait at brio’s, hofbrauhaus, or just looking for a place still serving food late in newport. its especially handy when hungry and getting out of a movie. its in the mall and about what you’d expect from an irish pub. i haven’t had a bad meal here and have even enjoyed their appetizers. guiness, flights of whiskey, an irish server to talk to us about our trip to ireland, a nice view of the river/fireworks after a reds win from the patio, and live music have been some of the highlights for me. it isn’t cheap and service isn’t always quick, there is almost always a seat for you right away. perhaps i’m biased from my irish heritage but this is a pretty good place.

This review is shamefully for«college night» last Wednesday. I have no idea what any other night is like and the only reason we ended up here was because it was almost 1:00am and nothing else was open. This night was $ 2 anythings I am pretty sure. It was one of those nights when everyone was ordering rounds and somehow when it was my turn to order, our bill was only $ 10 for like 10 people. I have no idea how that happened all I know is that it was a super fun, hilarious night! The DJ was crankin’ all the new tunes, peoples butts were literally hanging out of their skirts and at one point the bouncer came over to smoke a cig at our table. The people watching alone is enough reason to come here. Not a place I would seek out every night, and couldn’t(the hangover will kill you) but sometimes you need to throw a night like this into the mix.

Worst dining experience ever!!! Where do I even begin with this one… in all of my life I have never had worse service. To start, we sit down near the back bar close to the doors to the patio; and ask for a water and drink menu. Our waitress returns with the waters and no drink menu… we order an appetizer and ask again to see a drink menu. 15 minutes later a man from the kitchen brings us our appetizer, with no plates and still no drink menu or sight of our waitress. Five minutes after this she arrives to check on us, and we have to remind her AGAIN for a f*cking drink menu!!! She returns with plates and a dirty folded up piece of paper that she presets to me as my drink menu… Being that we were at an Irish establishment, I ask for a Harp… and what do you know?! They’re out… of frickin Harp, at an Irish restaurant!!! I then ask for a Sam Adams and my wife asks for a Miller Lite… They gave her a Bud Light. We place our order with her(Fish sandwich and a chicken salad, and 2 kid meals) and the wait begins. 45 minutes later we get her attention and ask what is going on with the food… They were not even that busy! We ask to please speed up the kid meals because they were getting restless…10−15 minutes later she arrives with the 2 kid meals… one of which had an incorrect side item. I start to cut up my daughter’s meal(she ordered the kid’s banger dogs). What would a night be without RAWPORK! So we wait for an hour and a half for poisonous food, FOR A 3YEAROLD! Not to mention my wife and I still have not received our meal. At this point, we decided to give up on this disgusting adventure and cut our losses. The«manager» offered to comp our«meal»(if you want to give it that much credit), but we decided our time was more valuable and left. DONOTEVERGOHERE… If you value your time and health stay as far away from this hell hole as possible! Oh, and to end on a funny side note, one of the 2TV’s at the bar was tuned to black screen with a floating DIRECTV logo the entire time haha… What a horribly run place… What a joke!

May be it is my fault. May be you should not go to an Irish pub for lunch. But, there we were — on the levee going to a movie, but we had to get lunch somewhere first. With our last experience Brio was not an option, so we decided to check out Clad. During the St. Patrick’s Day i had checked out the menu, and had seen some lent special fish entrees which i wanted to check out. But the menu we got did not contain any of these items. I kept probing the waiter’s brain for a lent special menu, which he was completely oblivious to. So we ordered a fish n chips and Yuengling Battered Shrimp, also a Walnut Crusted Goat Cheese Salad. The waiter was not at all knowledgeable about the menu choices or beer choices. Also he was not in a helping mood. Fish and Chips were pretty good. but i am still looking the for that flavor i used to get in California. Shrimp entrée reminded us of some Chinese dishes, without the heat. While we were chatting, my wife was able to pull up the lent special menu on her smartphone from the restaurant website. Now when we showed this to the waiter, he said, yes he can get it for us. It was an awkward moment at best. I got the Panko crusted tilapia which felt under-cooked and just-thawed. And we learned one lesson — unfilling pub food is no good at lunch, and we were hungry soon after.

Claddagh has a pretty cool atmosphere. Decorated like an old castle and dimly lit like one too. Good menu selection and plenty to choose from on tap. The dinning room is divided into different areas, most of which are big enough to host large parties of 12 or more. The outside patio is great in the warmer months and offers one of the many views from the Newport Levee. The service and food here have always been consistently good.

Stopped by here on a whim while visiting a friend in OH for Thanksgiving. We walked across the Purple People Bridge from downtown Cincinnati and were just hanging around Newport deciding what to do for the night since we were already full from dinner. We ended up in this pub for drinks and dessert. FOOD/DRINKS — Hot Apple Cider: hmmm, I love warm apple cider on cold nights. And it had a touch of rum in it, which made it even better! I would’ve loved if they put longer cinnamon sticks in the drink so I could stir it around for fun. — Irish coffee: it looked like a mocha with the extra whipped cream on top, but it was definitely laced with a good amount of rum. This was actually a pretty strong drink. — Warm & Tipsy Bread Pudding: the whiskey cream sauce definitely made this a decadent dessert! I want to recreate that sauce. You can easily split one of these between 2 or 3 people so you don’t feel too full from the richness. SERVICE While we had our drinks and snacks, we sat outside and played Monopoly Deal for about an hour. The staff was friendly in checking in to make sure that we didn’t want more food or drinks, but didn’t hassle us to leave. I would definitely come here again if I’m in town. The drinks and food seemed great, if a bit on the pricier side for Kentucky. But you get a wonderful view of the Ohio River and the skyline of downtown Cincinnati from their patio. If you want a place to eat with a view, I’d check this out!

I’ve always thought that Claddagh is that chain that kind of breaks the mold. Yes, it’s a chain, and you can pretty much tell when you walk in the door. Everything has that sort of clean, yet mass-produced feel. The Irish theme is pervasive and they did their best to cover the all the bases of what Ireland is, though it never really feels like you’re in an Irish pub per-say. Never-the-less this is a relaxing atmosphere. It may not feel like the most authentic Irish place in the world, but maybe that’s a good thing. There is a nice patio outside that can be taken advantage of when weather permits. From the patio you get a fantastic view of Cincinnati. There’s also no pressure to be trendy here, and the bar staff is quite friendly(though they could stand to be more attentive). The menu puts a spin on traditional Irish meals, which is great, because if you’ve ever had traditional Irish meals, you know that they leave a lot to be desired. But not Claddagh. Most of the menu items are a home run, rather than a swing and a miss, which is another reason to find yourself at Claddagh from time to time.

As you may or may not know from past reviews, I’m not that big a fan of Newport on the Levee. It often seems like a sad glorified shopping mall filled with kids and full of places I don’t enjoy buying things. Not my cup of tea. However, sometimes, when I’m looking to eat or drink in a comfortable, familiar, shopping-mall-like environment(and it happens from time to time), I don’t mind coming here. And when I do, I’ve always enjoyed my time at Claddagh. Yeah, it’s a chain and it can feel that way when you walk in(if it wasn’t apparent by the name, it’s a themed Irish bar, with stone walls, wooden bars and signs for things like Guinness everywhere.) So be it, they make np excuses for what they are — they’re a family-friendly Irish restaurant all the way. And in a place like Newport, with many bars and restaurant trying to push late-night drinking or dancing or clubbing … in a mall … it’s actually kind of refreshing for a place like Claddagh to be up front and honest. The food here is solid. I’ve had their corned beef sandwich and it was delicious. Thinly sliced and flavorful. Little coleslaw and cheese on that, and it’s pretty damn good. Last night, I also tried their goat cheese and mozzarella sauce that goes on top of baked bread as an appetizer? Damn, that was amazing! I’m not kidding, I almost ate the sauce without the bread it was so good … Ok, honesty: I did eat the sauce without the bread it. And it was delicious! It can get kind of crowded and crazy here, especially on the weekend as the night goes on, and service can suffer. Don’t worry too much about it. Don’t be in a hurry, grab a drink and enjoy. I do whenever I’m in the mood for eating in a shopping mall. One last thing: yesterday, I learned the restaurant is actually pronounced clah-dah, not clau-dah. Just for your notes!
