Bipolar Bob Pool table Budweiser No Truck Pain killers No Money Weed If I’m not here I’ll be at Fastnet If I’m not there, just keep looking in every bar that has a pool table. I steal money off my girlfriend and pretend I’m going for a walk and go to this bar and that bar. I was fired from work today because I’m always late for work and fight with my boss Dave.

Went there for a Paint Nite, was looking for a good draft beer since all they really serve there is alcohol, the bar menu is very limited. Beer on tap was the basics and even their bottle beer had no craft beer. They had one bartender even though they had 20 people for the Paint Nite. Very poor planning on their end as the bartender had to keep running into the back if people ordered food so to just get a drink took an awfully long time. The beer was cheap, about $ 5 for a draft but I don’t see what the desire would be to visit this business again. There is no perk to coming here, just a basic bar with some pool tables and boring beer selection. Even their food is so limited, I wouldn’t suggest it.

It was slow but it was snowing like crazy. Not too many people in the bar. It was nice. The bartender was cool. The food was good too. I notice they close early then supposed to. Which is a bummer if you want to stay.

I threw my boyfriend’s surprise 30th birthday here last month and they were super awesome! The back room was a great space, they let me come really early to decorate, helped with food and set up, very accommodating to my requests, and the bartenders were great. Perfect spot for a get together and not have to worry about everyone being able to afford to drink and eat. We had a couple of party crashers, but they were harmless and funny. Absolutely supporting them in the future!

We heard Jimmy’s Saloon had reggae on Sunday nights and decided to try it out. After entering and paying our $ 5 cover, we realized it wasn’t live music(boo) and didn’t have quite the following yet. On the plus side, the drinks were pretty cheap, but after receiving my drink with a fruit fly in it, I was turned off. Add to that, the loud and obnoxious promoter who spent the night swearing and chatting about drugs to the girls at the bar. They didn’t seem to mind, but we did!

Was walking from the transportation center to the cliff walk(yea…no parking whatsoever on July 4th weekend… no surprise) when I made a mental note of the Yuengling sign in front of this joint. On the way back to the wharf later the same day we stopped in to find said Yuengling on tap as well as clean and tasty fried stuff like chips and chicken tenders. Nice back patio and good prices. Probably going to try to park behind this place next time through ;-7.

Every once and a while me and a friend stop by here to grab a drink and it’s great. We only tend to go during the winter when it is slow. Over the summer and while school is in session it can get very packed because it is right up the street from the beached and a few blocks away from Salve Regina. They have pool tables, video games, and live music on some nights. The crowd is always fun and the usually have drink specials. I have never had the food but the prices look very reasonable. I always enjoy stopping by Jimmy’s Saloon

Great spot! Cheap drinks, friendly service, surprisingly amazing food. We hosted an event there for my husband’s coworkers with a high tab, and management was great to work with. From start to finish, they made it super easy and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual bar environment for a get together. The back room was perfect for our private party to start the night, and the buffet of pizza, ribs, and meatball subs was a BIG hit! Even our barbecue snob friends were really impressed with their ribs, and the pizzas were nearly unanimously considered to be better than any other pizza in Newport by the crowd. The cover band came in at 9pm and did a great job. People enjoyed the darts, punching bag game, and pool, as well as the patio to cool off. Even when some of our party got a bit sloppy towards the end of the night, the management, bartenders, and bouncers handled it well(which I am very grateful for!)

If you just want a beer then it’s ok $ 11.50 pitchers of draft beer(bud light). However DONOT order a shot from them. The kamikaze was the worst I’ve ever had and I’m not even sure how you screw that up. Just plain nasty. The jäger bomb was also flat awful. Luke warm jäger served with«Rebel» not Red Bull but REBEL. We asked and although better than monster it’s not red bull. Just another horrible shot when a jäger bomb is a simple shot to get right. Overall just not a place I’d go back to with a choice.

This is a good local bar in Newport. It’s bigger than it appears from the outside with a large room with pool tables in back and a great outdoor patio. Live music on Friday nights. All in all I would say check it out.

Great end to a walk A ton of room to hang out Not so good for games If you park at Easton’s Beach, Jimmy’s is the perfect place to grab a beer and a hearty lunch after a round trip on the Cliff Walk. Ask the bartender for the Jimmy’s Special(not sure what it’s called) but it’s pretty much the best thing you can stuff in your stomach after an afternoon of hiking. Although I’ve never been there in the evening, it’s a large bar despite the frontage appearance, with pool tables, darts, and plenty of space to hang out with friends.
