Mango Arts is an interesting art store on the lower level near the Newport Aquarium. The motif appears to be mostly Mexican/American Southwest art and it has a number of interesting pieces. A wide variety of vases, sculptures and pottery adorn the insides. There seems to be almost a focus on small desert animals and this store certainly has the largest Day of the Dead collection outside of the Crescent City. If I ever need to decorate for that holiday, this will be the place that I shop. As an aside, the prices seemed affordable compared to a number of arts places I’ve been(and from others at the Levee).

Mango Arts is a unique store located in the Newport on the Levee shopping center. It’s located on the outside area of the mall on the lower level. It’s a unique home furnishings and imports store. However, it’s indigenous. There are a lot of vases from glass to ceramic. Actually vases seem to be their specialty. Some of them were very large. Most of it seemed to be traditional Mexican craft work. They also have gorgeous lamps and tables as well. There were pretty decorations like fake flowers and other such home decorations. The furniture as well as the displays were all for sale. Prices are reasonable. Bookcases made out of really nice wood are around $ 300 dollars. It’s no Ikea, but it’s really nice.

Mango Arts, a nifty home dcor shop on the Plaza Level of the Levee, has a Latin American influence. They sell bright, cheery handmade items, some of which are one of a kind, including vases, jewelry, paper flowers, artwork, pottery and more. I’ve stopped in there on several occasions and spotted many interesting items. I’m especially attracted to the paper flowers and the gecko-themed wall hangings. The employees are friendly and helpful, also.
