We tried the the chili dog, the slaw dog, the falafel, and the burgers. Great slaw on the falafel, although the burgers were by far everyone’s favorite. The bacon on the burgers was AMAZING! But OMG the Fries!!! Crispy, crunchy, hand cut, delicious. Seating was a bit tight, but we had a big party and came at a busy time.
Ten/ten; would recommend to a friend.

From scratch… everything. And it shows! Are the owners Johnson & Wales U grads? Their culinary expertise shines throughout the menu. If my family craves a burger or a dog, we find it near impossible to order one any place but HERE. Folks complain about the communal seating… I see it as a feature, not a drawback. The Newport locals enjoy catching up with each other over a meal. Friendly atmosphere.

These are freakin awesome burgers. Somehow they seared the outside with a good crust & the inside is cooked to perfection, & juicy. I’m sure these are the best burgers I have ever had. WOW, AMAZING. Get into my belly, stomach is happy.

We are waiting for our food now and based off the «table order identifier» (Captain America Action figure) this place has got to be amazing and unique.
… 5 minutes later… holy fetch! Just inhaled the best burger of my entire life. Make sure you add bacon, cheese and The fried EGG to the burger. Man, that was awesome!

Woohoo! As good as it gets! I highly recommend anyone visiting Newport check out MISSION. They have a cool concept, fresh food, and a great selection of beer.
MISSION has a unique and fun order identification system; instead of table numbers or tickets, the customer is given a retro toy. We had an old-school Captain America! How sweet is that!?!
The place is kin of small, but we didn’t have to wait for our seats. We actually lucked out –it was starting to get very crowded just as we were finishing up our meals.
Next time I am in town, I will definitely be back in for one of their spectacular burgers! MISSION is home to some seriously tasty grub!

We tried Mission for lunch based on the reviews and the recommendation of hotel staff. My husband and I both had the bacon cheeseburger, and split an order of fries. Maybe my expectations were too high based on the hype, but I thought it was just an OK burger. Definitely good, but it didn’t rock my world. For the record, though they advertise all burgers cooked medium, ours were both medium-well. This didn’t bother me, but I know some people are very particular about this. The fries however were quite excellent! I don’t know if I’ve ever had such a perfectly crispy thick-cut french fry. I was intrigued by the falafel on the menu, and would have tried if the burgers hadn’t been talked up so much, so if I find myself there again I will give that a try.

The classic burger was bleeding… well, that’s an exaggeration, a little oil with a bit of pink came out. It was a tasty burger, the meat was very good. The burger was topped with lettuce, onion, sprouts, and a creamy sauce.
I liked the hot dog even more. The classic dog was very plain, just a hot dog in a bun with some chopped onions on top. The hot dog meat was very tasty.

Mission was recommended to our group from a local. We are in town for Star Customer Service training and we’re looking to apply our classroom teachings.
Cute place but small. We got there 20 minutes before the dinner rush.
Their menu isn’t huge and I find that comforting. A restaurant with 100’s of menu items, usually fails to make great food.
All 9 of us ordered burgers and fries.
Mine was missing the fries but when I brought it up to the front, they quickly gave me some.
One of our group members requested medium well and her burger was bleeding.
Another asked for no onions and had onions on hers.
I ordered a cheeseburger with avocado, fries and a box of water= $ 17.50
Overall, tiny mistakes in the grand scheme of food service and the food was good. However, I wasn’t «wowed.» Three stars for being average.

I came here based on coworker recommendations and the excellent Unilocal rating. I would like to think my experience was a fluke but the burger was still mooing (even for a medium temperature) and the Citizen Cider did not warrant the $ 7.50 price let alone deliver on satisfaction.
I consider myself a foodie but am seriously considering whether to come back and try again. The atmosphere was great and the range of customers varied from young and hip to retired. It s just unfortunate that my group had such a poor experience.

I was unsure of the hype when I walked through the door.
Mission was typical of the arrogantly trendy no-frills restaurants of New England but met all expectations in the food department. The burgers were of the highest quality, cooked perfectly and the homemade fries were absolutely divine. The only detractors for me was the lack of seating (you may have to wait a few minutes because it a small restaurant and draws quite a crowd), wait time (worth the wait) and that they did not take AMEX (Visa/MC only).

I would never think to put sprouts on a burger but they do and it’s amazing.
Hailing from the land of sunny San Diego I am custom to amazing burgers everywhere. But the island is a little smaller and options are a little slimmer.
My first bite into their burger sealed the deal with the squirt of juice that stained my jeans when I bit into it. (It was worth it)
Everything about their burgers is delicious, from their meat to fresh veggies, I’m not sure what’s all in their house sauce but they give it just the right kick.
Not to be forgotten are their fries and hot dogs. One hot dog is more than enough to fill you for a day and then some.
We always split the fries and always end up with more than we can eat.
I also love the little touch of giving you toys as you place number. It adds a really fun element

No really, that’s all you need to know. Everything on this menu is delicious, I urge you to try one of their special burgers and a Chicago dog with fries. It’s gonna be a lot of food but you won’t regret it, I promise.

YESSSS it really is as good as it gets! I got a fricken dinosaur as my table number and I am an adult and I got excited about it so what!!!
All burgers all around were amazing. I also got the falafel wrap and it was outstanding! The fries (of course) were a yes!
It is set up as an order at the counter, with beer, and in the seat yourself sort of fashion. So do what we did and just stare at people until they get up.

Let’s get this out of the way quick! Burger was fantastic! What I loved about it was that the beef was cooked perfectly to order, the bacon was amazing, and the mission sauce was slightly tangy! Definitely a unique burger unlike any burger I’ve ever had! Their fries were to die for as well!
The ambiance was very chill and relaxing. I got the opportunity to eat here twice and I would definitely come back again and again! Burger and beers during a mild winter in Newport? Yes please!

Super yummy. Eating a burger from here has probably made me unable to eat one anywhere else. The patty is made of fresh ground meat and was inexplicably juicy. I’ve never had a burger so juicy that each bite was absolutely mouthwatering. The patties are thick and no joke. This is applied to their fries as well. They are cut very thick, almost like a steak fry. The potatoes are grown in Newport and you can taste a real potato instead of freezer fries. They are lightly fried to a magnificent crisp and lightly salted. The perfect fry. Better yet, the perfect meal. Don’t hesitate to eat one of the best burgers of your life.

Good burgers, great beers — what more is there to want from a burger joint?
Just solid, all around. All burgers and dogs are ground in-house and are cooked medium. The hand-cut fries are bomb diggity. All burgers come with lettuce, raw-onion and mission sauce (aioli w/ketchup/cornichons/capers/herbs/brandy) Extra toppings range from $ 0.50−1.00
Haven’t had the chance to inhale their falafel or try the dogs, but judging by what came out of the kitchen — they looked gooood.
Quirky, very reasonably priced, solid food — check these guys out!

Cheeseburger, sadly dry. And because it was overcooked it didn’t merit the 8.50 cost
Liked the cheeseburger better than the Chicago dog.

It was my first visit to this lil gem of a place. Enjoyed the cheeseburger with hand cut crispy fries! the special sauce on the burger was fantastic. The décor is inviting and cool. It was pretty busy but they kept up.
The counter service was friendly and helpful. I like that! Personality with a smile! I recommend going and enjoy there special made burger and a cool drink it’s good and affordable. Not bad for the Newport area. I’ll be back soon!!!

I travelled from Chile in 2012 to stay in America. Since then and because in my country we have such good beef, I’ve been looking for the perfect Burger. I have to say, that today I found it. Mission Burgers are for me, the BEST BURGER OF AMERICA. Tasty, juicy, with lovely ingredients and of course we have to mention that the hand cut fries are simply delicious! I love this place! Definitely one of my favorites in Newport.
