Stayed in Newport for the weekend and was looking for a place to eat for breakfast, came across this place on Unilocal and we couldn’t have been happier once we got there. This place hands down is a must go to. I’m looking forward to visiting Newport again just so I can eat here. My husband and myself both got a different breakfast burrito and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. It was all amazing. Can’t wait to visit again and the staff was super friendly and genuinely nice people. Pretty rare nowadays to find a place with both amazing food and excellent service.

Yum! Delicious vegan and gluten free options(tons of them), friendly staff, nice atmosphere. There’s something here for everyone: vegan and carnivores alike. A little pricey but worth it if you want super healthy, quality, ethical food done quickly.

YUM! Super tasty healthy food. It was great for us when we were visiting during the Newport Folk Festival, we really needed something healthy to rejuvenate us and this was perfect.

Had lunch here a few weeks ago. The food was great and atmosphere was very nice. A great place to grab a fast healthy lunch or breakfast! Staff was very friendly and I could tell the head cook took pride in his food.

Stopped into Keenwah after much intrigue over the photos and reviews. A much needed organic restaurant without the fluff in Newport. Stopped here for a quick lunch and upon reading the menu I was so pleased to see that nearly everything(around 95%) of what they offer is organic. This was such a welcomed sight to me. In RI we have a serious lack of Acai Bowls so I ordered myself a Purple People Pleaser and sat out on their patio to enjoy my brief lunch. All in all — any place that offers Acai bowls on this side of the country has my heart. It was a little small for what I paid(considering what $ 8 gets me for other acai bowls). But it was delicious nonetheless and paired graciously with amazing granola that you could truly tell was non-processed. I will definitely be back as the smell of the food when I entered was unforgettable(must be the grass fed burgers!)

First time decided to try for lunch. Had to wait about five mins for someone to come over to take order at register then they asked the two ladies that just came in the door for their order first completly looking past me. I didn’t worry about it too much, maybe I wasn’t doing the proper waiting to order stance. There were maybe about ten people in there and it didn’t take long to get my food. I ordered the organic burger, beware it comes without cheese, but it is still very good. They give you a few giant sweet potatoe fries which I believe we’re baked and very good also. Over all good, kinda weird at the begining but strong finish.

This place has the perfect vibe and wonderful customer service. All food is fresh and healthful and of course delicious. The have local, omnivore, vegetarian and vegan options as well as a juice bar. I highly recommend it to any one looking for a snack, meal, or just a beverage. They have a great little garden seating area outside as well as comfy living room style chairs and tables in side.

If you’re into vegan food or you want to fuel your body with a healthy meal, Keen-Wah is the place to go in Newport! Our friends visited during our time in Newport, and it was so good we came twice. We couldn’t get enough of the burritos and their vegan pastries.

Enjoy a healthy breakfast on the patio with an organic ice coffee! You can also bring your dog on the patio to enjoy the calm atmosphere. The local yokel is excellent!

Delicious, healthy food! I got an Original Burrito on a yummy Teff Gluten Free Wrap with tofu. So good and I loved the baked sweet potato home fries that come with it. I will be back many times.

Feels like a little taste of California. Love that I can walk here, have a healthy plate of food, and sit outside in the sun. Yes, it’s a little pricey — welcome to Newport. I haven’t had the service issues mentioned by others. Service has always been friendly and food has come out quickly, delivered with a smile. One of my go to places in town.

As another reviewer said, don’t love the name, but the selection of healthy bites is truly fantastic. And Anywhere that serves Yerba Maté on tap is my kind of place. I have had super fresh, tasty juices here and I recently tried a house salad with chicken. The greens were a tad wilted and the salad was smaller than I expected for the price but the homemade Keenwah cakes were delicious and I loved all the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and goji berries. The dressing was also excellent, a tangy blend of Goji berry, oil and vinegar. It was delicious! While waiting in line, the case of raw muesli with chia seeds called to me and I will definitely be back. It’s the muesli I’ve been too lazy to make but have seen prepared beautifully on Instagram. Haha. I find the prices a little high but that’s to be expected for high quality food. And it definitely wouldn’t stop me from returning or recommending. Yay Keenwah!

Best health food in Newport. Susie is there every time we go and love to say hi to her. Have had almost everything on the menu and always been impressed. Vegetarian and vegan options. Tempeh burger is great. So is the homemade veggie burger. Love the wraps and breakfast burritos. They toast the muffins which are delicious. Also had the acai bowl this last time and loved it. Love to go here and read the nytimes while nomming.

I didn’t want to like this place. Mainly because, quite simply, I hate the name. I lived down the street from it for a year and never went there… somewhat in protest because of the name. I know… petty. Sometimes I am petty. But, if you see, I gave it 5 stars. Here is why, the servers are always lovely – very personable, cute and quirky in an ETSY sort of way. Anyhow, I have gotten a few of the smoothies(yum) but really, it doesn’t get much better than the edamame hummus wrap. Seriously, it is so good. It is multidimensional(the dried edamame might put it over the top for me). So so good, I couldn’t even take a star away for the horrible name. it is Quinoa… I realize you make light of it on your menu for haters like me but come one… ehg. This may be the only begrudging 5 stars I have given. Damn you delicious edamame wrap…

June 20, 2014 Working in Newport has been strange. Although I enjoy the city, I think it’s more on a «wouldn’t want to live there» scale. I’m more of a Cape Cod gal at heart. I find it much less pretentious. For this edition of Laura’s Lunch, I decided to take myself to a place that all the cool kids at work like to frequent — Keenwah(that’s «quinoa» in hipster). At first I thought the purposeful misspelling was cute, but now it just irks me — especially after eating there. I pulled into the parking lot and stepped inside to look over the menu since they don’t have a working website(annoying when you just want to pop in and out during a lunch break). There was a lot to choose from, but it was all … odd. Now please don’t think that my fat ass has never been in a «super food eatery» before. I’ve eaten healthy food; I’ve seen healthy food. My problem was that there were SO many ingredients in each item that I had a funny feeling the overall taste would be flavorless. I decided to order an acai energy smoothie($ 7) which consisted of organic acai purée and powder, strawberries, bananas, green tea and soymilk. I also chose«The Macchu Picchu» burrito($ 8), which was organic quinoa, spinach, sundried tomatoes, non-dairy walnut pesto, feta cheese and choice of scrambled eggs, tofu or tempeh in a sprouted wheat wrap served with sweet potato home fries or fries and orange wedges. My total came to $ 16.20, which shocked the hell out of me because I hadn’t been paying attention to the prices. I know that’s an insane amount for one person’s lunch, but I was hoping for a good experience. I waited quite a while because they were making everything fresh, which was a good thing. I looked over the menu and noticed that they seem to cater to people with food allergies or those on restrictive diets(i.e., gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.). I should mention that the interior was very cute and trendy and outdoor seating is also available. The staff was also very friendly, especially when I had realized at the last minute that I never did choose between scrambled eggs, tofu or tempeh in my burrito. The waitress informed me that scrambled eggs(which I don’t even like) were going in by default. My mistake. When my food arrived, the waitress brought it over to me in a little cardboard box. I took a quick sip of the acai smoothie and it was very thick and had a strong berry taste. I couldn’t recognize any other flavor. It was like a mixed berry yogurt, but that’s pretty tasty so I had no problems with the smoothie. I did think it was a little small for $ 7. I returned to work and opened the box of food. It seemed like they kind of just threw everything inside, but whatever. I was hungry. For my sides they gave me sweet potato home fries and orange wedges. The orange wedges were OK, but I’m not really a fan. The sweet potato home fries were good, but they were cold and a little too mushy. This actually could have been an awesome side dish if they had been cooked a little more because I love the taste of sweet potatoes. As for my burrito — bleh. I mean, I wasn’t disgusted or anything. It wasn’t the worst thing that I’ve ever had. I just didn’t like the flavor combination and unfortunately I found out that I don’t like quinoa! It looked like fish eggs and had a gritty/grainy taste and texture. My mouth had a weird aftertaste for the entire day. There was almost no feta cheese(my favorite) except for one pathetic attempt to include a piece at the very bottom of the burrito. The eggs were eggs(nothing special, but they were a little cold) and everything else tasted strange. I will say that for $ 8, you do get a pretty large burrito. I was full until the evening and I guess the only good thing that came out of my lunch is that it kept me from snacking before dinner. * Minutes from the office: One. * Cost of the meal with drink: $ 16.20(ridiculous!) Will I be going to Keenwah again? Only for the smoothies. There are a couple of other ones I’d like to try but I definitely won’t be ordering the food again. It’s just not my style. If I’m doing healthy, I’d want a piece of fish with a side of vegetables or a big salad with grilled chicken. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I think this place is great in theory. I walked in and was super excited about the menu, but my breakfast burrito was disappointing. It lacked flavor despite it’s appealing description, they were not very generous with the feta sun dried tomatoes and pesto. I did enjoy the green smoothie. Pricey as well, but expected.
