I got a coupon in the mail from my realtor for $ 10 off of $ 20. It was empty for lunch so that may be a better time to go if you can. The salsa and chips were fresh and delicious. I went with the enchiladas and they were so fresh and the black beans as a side were excellent. I think it would be a great place for a happy hour or margarita as well, I just couldn’t do it while working… All in all, it was a very good place and I will definitely be back!

I went to lunch at Redondo Taqueria with some co-workers today. We arrived at noon and there was only one more table that was occupied. That should have been a sign to us, but we ate there anyway. I wanted to order the chicken tortilla soup but was told it hadn’t been made today as they don’t make some items everyday. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were very greasy and the chicken looked(and tasted) to be of poor quality. All of my co-workers said that their food was mediocre at best. It might be a good place for drinks, but I would strongly recommend against eating there!

Party of 5 and everyone thought the food tasted like hot garbage, coupled with high prices and slow service.

I was a bit hesitant based on other reviews, but the place was top notch! We had the salsa sampler, which was very good and the chips were great. The inside out tamales are AMAZING and the ceviche is perfection. Prices are great, drinks are good and service was very good. We will definitely go back.

Great location. Open to outside and fun music. The chips were fresh but the salsa, just ok. The queso fundido was somewhat tasty but broken. I got tres tacos: fish, pork belly and short rib. Fish was greasy and bland. Pork belly was a little better but didn’t wow me in the way that pork belly should. The short rib was relatively tender and the salsa hot as fire. His burrito was«alright» and«it’s no chipotle». Black beans and rice were both virtually tasteless. I won’t be back.

Absolutely horrible! From the service being at a snails pace, to the waitress not going back to get my food, to the food sitting under heat laps until the plate was red hot and the tacos soggy, to even receiving something other than what I ordered!!! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! There’s a reason why this place has such a bad rating … listen to the reviews!!!

I am hoping that the third time is a charm with this place, because the first and second leave me with a resounding, «meh.» The salsa trio on my first visit was bland and without any spice or punch. One of the trio, a pineapple and corn combo, was literally just pineapple and corn in a cup. No spices, no juice, just pineapple and corn. However, the margarita was quite tasty. It is this drink that warrants a first star. On my second visit I experienced the queso, which is delicious and the second star in my rating. The tacos are alright, but for the price tag they should be out of this world. The service both times was decent, but it takes the servers an exceptionally long time to return to the table after getting everyone seated, and then you almost want to shout, «STAY!» so that you can give them your order before they disappear for 20 minutes. Overall, I would say a quick drink and meet up spot is all this place has to currently offer. But be sure to order that quick drink as soon as the waiter comes over, or be prepared to flag them down.

After reading the reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect when meeting a friend here for a weeknight dinner. I was a bit taken aback by the fact that there was not another soul in the place. Seriously, just the two of us and all the empty tables. But, we got over it and ordered. I had the Sangria which was on happy hour special. Maybe it was my low expectations going in, but I was pretty surprised/happy with the drink. I had one of the ‘chef’s specials’ listed on a table tent: deconstructed tamales. Again, I was surprised. While, the corn cake was much sweeter than what I would expect in a tamale, it was topped with an assortment of fresh ingredients that complimented each other well. And for $ 7, it was a pretty good deal-I got a salad because I was expecting something small, and ended up taking half the salad and one of the corn cakes home for lunch. The salad, however, was 100% arugula, which maybe was stated on the menu and I missed, but that makes for one peppery salad! What lost a star here was the service. So, again, not.a.soul. in the place; and our waiter joked about it that he would be easy to find-and he was for the most part. But, he couldn’t answer any questions. When I asked if both sangrias were on special, he wasn’t sure and gave some uncertain, «I think it’s just the one,» sort of answer. After we sat with the menu awhile, he came back to take orders and I asked for a suggestion between two options. He then revealed that he really doesn’t like mexican and really hasn’t had anything on the menu, but that the queso and desserts are pretty good. I asked about the portion size of the dish and of the house salad to determine if I should get both or not, again, he was less than helpful. I get it, serving isn’t your end game, but at a place on the Levy where there are so many other options close by, service needs to bring the a-game. Given the other reviews, I’m thinking that some(re)training could really benefit this place!

I like coming here for the drinks. We had a margarita and appetizers. The service was good. We sat outside in the patio. We got our drinks and appetizers on the house because there was a huge rain storm and we got soaking wet outside. It was generous and nice of them to do that.

Went on a thursday evening. Not busy at all but the waiter was very absent. The food was good the 2 adults had the build your own burrito. The crispy pork belly was really good. Kids meals were a bit pricy at about $ 6 and werent really anything special. Our kids dont drink soda and they had no milk or juice options. Chips were good but salsa was just ok. This place wasnt that bad. If we didnt have our kids with us and the waiter came around more often i probably would have given one more star.

The food was extremely bland. We started with the chips and queso which came out cold and when we told the waitress she took it and brought the exact same queso back that had just been microwaved. I ordered the burrito and after paying extra to have queso added there was barely any in it at all, couldn’t even taste it. Could hardly taste mostly anything besides rice and the sauce that was so bland. My girlfriend had the tacos which were equally as tasteless. Overall the service wasn’t awful but really nothing to write home about. We will not be returning solely based on how terrible the food was.

Wow… what a disappointment… I really wanted to enjoy this place but it was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in some time. Our server, though strangely distracted all the time, was fine for the most part. Not particularly efficient and needed to be reminded of everything we ordered seconds after we ordered it but he seemed like a nice enough guy. The location is great and it is a nice environment but I’m sorry — the food just sucks. We ordered the Ceviche and it was really sad. It was obvious it had been made days in advance(and come on — this was a saturday night — you should be serving quality food on the biggest night of the week) the cucumber slices had begun to go translucent and the cherry tomato halves were wilted… I really think that they made them days earlier and put them into the sundae-style cups 2 – 3 days earlier and then just pull them out, throw some lime juice on it(which did not taste fresh btw) and serve it… it really sucked… I had prok-belly tacos… maybe 6 ½ inch square pieces of pork belly — no lie — seriously, no more than 6 on each of the 3 tiny tacos. Covered way too heavy by some sort of slaw and some very lime-flavord guac… I love tacos and couldn’t finish one of them. also had the 3-salsa and chips. Honestly none of them were particularly good. The avocado and tomatillo was lacking any flavor other than line, the pineapple was ok but nothing to write home about and the roasted corn was almost laughable… I mean come on, if this is what you do then at least make the salsas special. I kind of get the impression that they are now trying to be some sort of upscale chipotle and it is a miserable failure… too bad… the menu could be great if they actually produced the items as described. In my experience, they do not… I have no intention of revisiting the place… They get the second star because my GF’s margarita was not horrible…

Bottom line: I didn’t enjoy the food experience here. I’ve actually not had worse tacos… Ever. The corn tortillas weren’t good and neither was the short rib. I was so happy I still had queso sauce leftover from the appetizer so I could dress up the tacos with it. The queso sauce was good, I’ll admit, and so was my pomerita. Probably wouldn’t go back for a meal, but would consider returning for the queso and chips or drinks.

Food is okay but probably overcharged for what you receive. I wouldn’t plan to go out of the way to come here.

Redondo is a taqueria style Mexican restaurant with a casual, eclectic environment that provides a social gathering place for friends. I was preparing for an afternoon of shopping with my pal Todd but first we needed nutrition and a drink so it seemed like a perfect time to try Redondo. They opened about two months ago at Newport on the Levee. It was the first really cold day of the year and as much as I wanted to sit outside by the fire, we decided against it. Next time though-It looks very cozy! It’s a beautiful, colorful place and I really loved the atmosphere. No tacky sombreros in sight! There were only a few diners enjoying lunch so I hope that business picks up so we don’t lose another great place at the Levee. Our server was wonderful and after much deliberation we finally settled on taco trios and(fish, short rib & chicken) yum to all except the fish and we both prefer grilled fish tacos versus fried. I picked the Carnitas. Carnitas means little meats and is usually a tender, juicy simmered pork dish. Delish! I liked it but didn’t love it. It was not as tender and juicy as I would have liked but it still had great flavor and I would definitely try it again. Keep in mind this is not a traditional fast food Mexican joint. Think Bakersfield or Nada’s… fresh, inventive and delightful. You don’t spoil your appetite on chips and salsa and are able to appreciate the meal! Give it a try and keep an open mind, I’m sure you will love it. Adiós Red Pearl

One thing I noticed about Cincinnati Unilocal Reviews(no offense Cincinnati), is that when I see a business with 2 – 3 stars, I don’t immediately count it out. It looks like a lot of the«hipster”-y restaurants are just really ahead of the gentrification curve that’s been going around the Greater Cincinnati and Newport area. Wow. that makes me sound like a snob, but I feel like this place deserves so much more than the two stars that everyone’s been giving it. If you are looking for huge portions with smothered cheese(think Don Pablo’s or Taco Bell), this is not your place. If you are looking for authentic tacos with bursting all natural flavors(traditionally, lettuce, tomatos, and shredded cheese don’t even go in tacos), then please try this place out. I ordered the short rib tacos, and was pleasantly surprised. I got mine on the corn tortillas and it was freaking fantastic. Each taco had a bit of jalapeño pepper with cilantro and onion, which made it flavorful without being ridiculously salty. The tacos come with a side of chips seasoned with sea salt. Amazeballs. Portions look small but surprisingly filling. To the person who said they were charged for water – what the hell? I checked my bill – they didn’t charge us for water. They also brought out free refills of our sodas without us even asking. Service was great – they were helpful, checked up on us, and I believe the owner/manager of the restaurant came over to ask about our experience. If this place had bad service in the past, that is clearly not the case anymore. The music wasn’t even loud, and I went on a day with great weather, and the open air seating just made the place feel like I was taking a vacation day. Interior décor is nice too. Yes it’s pricey, but its worth it in flavor and ambiance. tl;dr food was full of flavor and authentic. Boyfriend literally said«man I can totally see LA folks falling in love with this place» Service was great for me and I had a great date night here.

What a disappointment this adorable little place was! My friend and I were so excited to try this place when it opened. When we entered, we were greeted by the hostess. She was pretty nice and offered us a seat outside. Since it was such a pretty day, we decided to sit outside on their adorable patio. Unfortunately, our warm and fuzzy feelings toward Redondo Taqueria stopped there. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer, thinking that would be a safe choice, while we reviewed the rest of the menu. It was only $ 2 during happy hour and we also ordered margaritas which I believe were $ 4. While the prices were great, we were so disappointed by the margaritas, chips and salsa. The chips were completely stale and bland and the salsa was awful, bland, boring and pretty gross. The margaritas were bland as well, watered down and barely had any tequila in them. We were so disappointed with the chips/salsa & margaritas that we decided not to order anything else. This place might be worth a try, however; if you’re looking for some really great Mexican food, try somewhere else.

Sorry to write it, but not worth recommending. We took away some flour and corn tacos and quesadilla. The tortillas for tacos were extremely small. Since we were ordering out, they were wrapped in alu foil and after unpacking the tortillas themelves were sticky and slimy on the outside from sitting in the foil. The meat(short rib, beef and chicken) had some artificial flavour imitating smoked meat. The fish was the best of all, but it was a battered deep fried fish, so it was pretty greasy. Quesadilla was very dry and was just OK. We got some tortilla chips that were so fat that the paper bag they were in was all soaked in fat. All in all, nothing special and for the money I was expecting something better. Seemed like a nice addition to the Newport on the Levee, but I will not be back.

Redondo was just OK. We arrived and were quickly seated outside which was great because it was a mild night. It was happy hour which meant they had half price drinks and cheap chips and salsa. They wouldn’t let us trade out the offered salsa for something less spicy without and extra $ 2 charge so we passed. I was excited to try the tacos. I mixed and matched with a Fish, Carne Asada, and Pork Belly Taco. I think the fish is the only one I can recommend. The other two didn’t have much flavor and the spice was a bit overwhelming. It was also more expensive than other places in the city with larger tacos. I paid $ 11 for compared to $ 9 at other places that have larger tacos. Feel free to stop by for a drink but don’t plan on being wowed by the tacos.
