We finally found the best Carne Asada burrito in Oregon!!! It’s taken us a year of living in Oregon from California, and MANY attempts, but we finally found it at Oscar’s(Newport AND Lincoln City). Now… if only they would just build one in SALEMOREGON!!! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!!! The beef rolled tacos are good too… but the Carne Asada Burrito is THEBEST!!!

Very nice staff, but that’s where the pluses end. The seats are torn and dingy, many of them needed to be bussed. I’m not expecting fancy décor, but a few repairs and maintenance would go a long way. I ordered one fish taco and two chicken tacos. The fish was an unnatural color and shape. The chicken tacos came in store bought hard shells — yuck! And the morsels vaguely resembled poultry. Even the hot sauce bottles were super greasy. C’mon guys — wipe down some tables and condiments every blue moon.

What a hidden gem. The food is fantastic and the prices are amazing. It may look like a dive on the outside but is definitely worth the stop

Great place to stop in for a Loco burrito. Hits the spot every time. I’ve tried many other items on the menu which have been good but my favorite is easily the Loco burrito.

I’m not quite sure how this place got past four stars. I had read previous Unilocal reviews before trying it. So I had a small idea of what I was walking into. The service at the drive thru was quick. The girl that took our order was very nice. My boyfriend and I both got the same thing. The taco and cheese enchilada plate. Beans were a little bland. I still digged them though. Rice was a tad dry too. But hey we all have different preferences when it comes to Mexican food. The sauce on the enchilada was the only thing I liked. It was on the salty side. On something else it might have been better but on the enchilada it was too much. I didn’t eat the taco. The beef was too tough and not appealing flavor wise. My boyfriend got a chicken taco. He said the meat was very fatty. He couldn’t finish it. I wish I hadn’t spent the money I did on this meal. You live and learn though. I’m sure there’s a gem somewhere on the menu. But if we come back in town we won’t be coming back to find out.

If the food was consistently the same, I’d rate Super Oscar’s higher. Unfortunately, my experiences have been hit and miss. The first time that I had the Chili Rellenos, I thought that I’d never want to try anything else. My plate came with a super simple, but superb Cheese Enchilada that automatically became my second favorite item to order. But Super Oscar’s doesn’t always produce what they’ve led me to expect. One to go order was completely missing the Chili Rellenos. Another had the Relleno but it was missing its all important cheese innards. The cheese enchilada in that order seemed to have been made without a ytortilla, the container just had cheese and sauce. I find the meat in the burritos to usually be tasty, even if it isn’t always seasoned consistently. There’s more than one cook in this kitchen and they don’t necessarily agree on portions, spicing, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I keep going because I think they do Mexican better than the other two places in town. I’d just like it to be as good every time

My wife and I were in the mood for tacos while staying in Newport. Unfortunately, our options in the area seemed kind of limited. We chose this place over the other nearby option, but weren’t really that impressed. We both ordered the carne asada taco specials(two steak tacos, rice, and beans). For the price, I am used to getting three tacos back at home — but the tacos were filled nicely with extra tortillas. I wouldn’t say the food was bad — I was just hoping it would be better. The rice was ok, but the tacos seemed to lack any real flavor. I also was disappointed in the fact that there were no public bathrooms(coming in from a long drive), and the place was a bit too fast-food style. We were hoping for a nice little sit-down restaurant where somebody would come take our order. Instead, this place has a menu behind the counter — you place your order and they call your order over a microphone when it is ready to pick up. If we are ever in the need for Mexican food while travelling through Newport again, I might consider giving them a second shot — just because there are so few options in the area. Until then, I will stick with two stars.

Place is run down. But the food is ok. I’ve had better. The lettuce is fresh and finely shredded. Everything else is mediocre.

Decent food to grab on the go. I loved their chicken and their hot sauces were great! They are open 24 hours too which is nice. Their bathroom is on the outside of the building, so they do have one.

Giant Chicken fajita burrito(6.50) + rice(.90) + beans(.90) — sour cream = delicious($ 8.30). Burrito diameter: 3 inches with a standard deviation of ½ an inch Tortilla: excellent(homemade?) Favorite aspect: generous amount of fajitas If space/time allows I will come here again! No worries though, time/space will allow me to come here whenever I want!(;

If you’re from Utah, you’ve most likely driven past or dined at a Beto’s Mexican or Rancherito’s Mexican restaurant. I made many a trips there and after moving to Oregon, I knew those would be establishments I would miss. Luckily for me, upon a weekend stay in Newport, I came across Super Oscar’s and went there with my big family. It did not disappoint! Just like the two Mexican restaurants I missed from home and we all left satisfied. Reasonably priced, big burritos and platters. Perfect to feed a hungry crowd who’s on a budget. Food made fresh, perfectly seasoned carne asada, fresh pico de gallo, hot and delicious flour tortillas and local seafood for tacos and burritos. Great to satisfy a hangover! If you’re looking to have ambiance and a upscale experience, you should look elsewhere. This would be considered a fast food establishment. The esthetics of the restaurant does not compare to the quality of food and for the cost. So happy we found Super Oscars… p. s The carne asada fries, shrimp burrito(I get mine with pico added) and Oregon burrito(like a California burrito) are our faves.

Hmmm, Oscars is a bit shady from the outside and the inside looks filthy. And no restrooms. I get it, low budget place and probably not a ton of cash for improvements but there is no reason for having a dirty place. Other than the look and feel the food is quite good and fairly inexpensive.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food and lots of it at a good price Super Oscar’s is the place to go! It’s perfect for travelers on a limited budget. This is where the locals go for good Mexican food. You won’t have the ambiance of the other Mexican restaurants in town but you’ll have friendly and fast service with good food.

The torta I got was cold, and the service was awful! When I pulled up in the drive thru the lady never once said thank you. Customer service here is not good at all. I will not be going there again…

Bad. Cold food. No flavor. Way over priced for what you get. I guess they’re still in business because they’re on the main street.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time! For shear value alone you just can’t beat Oscar’s! I had the 5 rolled tacos special and a carna asada giant burrito, and my wife ordered the carnitas chimichanga special. I couldn’t believe how much meat my giant burrito had in it! There was no beans or rice filler at all, just meat, cheese, guacamole, and pico. My wife’s chimichanga was the same way, all meat no filler! The carna asada and the carnitas were spiced perfectly, and very delicious and juicy. My 5 rolled tacos were very good as well, crunchy, delicious, and drenched in guacamole, cheese and lettuce. They definitely don’t skimp on portions here! I couldn’t believe how much delicious food we got for the price. We’ve spent more at Taco Bell and got a lot less! I came to Newport looking for some great seafood but found one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever ate at! Amazing!

This place is great for late night eats or simple eating. By simple I mean you’re hungry enough to eat a burrito the size of your face but don’t dont really feel like going to a fancy Mexican restaurant. If you want giant portions, yummy horchata, and a super casual environment(with cheap prices) this is the place to go! I ordered the Special #4(Chimichanga) and seriously it was the size of a newborn baby, no joke. But a delicious one at that. Three good hot sauces and dollar refills don’t hurt either.

Super Oscar’s was pretty good. Maybe the best Mexican food we’ve found here in the area. The style is «order at the counter» and«get it on paper plates»… Semi-self serve. The restaurant is large and clean and the staff was very friendly. My food could have been hotter temperature-wise but it was tasty. My fried had the burrito and loved it. The chips were piping hot with delicious pico de gallo salsa. 5 stars!

Super Oscars has become my go-to place for a quick, cheap meal. They make these burritos that are a foot long and probably weight a half pound. They’re all meat and they’re five bucks. My favorite is the carne asada but yesterday I tried the steak, egg and cheese breakfast burrito and it was awesome! Still mostly steak but just enough egg and cheese to make it taste like a steak filled chile relleno when eaten with the mild green sauce. Yummmmmmmmy! They’re always incredibly friendly at the drive-through and pretty quick but not fast food quick because they actually have to MAKE your food. The meat has some bits of fat and gristle in it because you’re actually getting meat, not some processed preformed meat product. This is the real deal. The sauces are good — mild or spicy — and they give you plenty. There’s no reason to eat fast food with Super Oscars in town!
