Good, quick Chinese food, and so far the best«regular» wonton soup I’ve had since moving to the Newton area. General Tso’s is tasty but not as spicy as I expected it to be, which is mildly disappointing. The option to add soup to a dinner plate, which has the option of rice and a side is nice. The shu Mai is pretty yummy, good flavor and a good portion for two to split. Only thing really that could be improved is the cost of delivery, which yes it is a convenience thing but with a minimal purchase of $ 15, then an additional $ 3 for delivery plus tax and tip, adds up fast!

Great service, extremely friendly. Food is okay, it could be better but good for on the run. Quick delivery and reasonably priced. Defiantly not my first pick for Asian cuisine

Been going here for years. The best salt pepper shrimp, until the other night. New owners or chef, but the salt and pepper shrimp actually needed salt. Mushy beef, too salty. I’m totally bummed. Can’t see going back.

Very mediocre food, but at a decent price. There are definitely much better and tastier options for the same price though. The lo-mein is very very dry and has almost no flavor. Food is very oily but still tastes ok. They do have some great specials that come with lots of food. Definitely more of a takeout kind of place.

Good traditional Chinese cusine, in my limited experience. Pricing is fair, and delivery relatively timely.

This is a nice little place, with plentiful portions of tasty food and friendly service. I was surprised to see that a previous reviewer had a poor experience with service, when we visited the hostess was dotting on us like a sweet auntie. She was very busy with take-out and delivery orders, but still checked in with us and was very friendly when she brought over food, asking if everything was ok. The food is classic sub-urban-American Chinese menu, with over 100 main and side dishes. Anything that I could think of should be on that menu was there. Makes for a very comforting, inexpensive dinner, with plenty leftovers for another meal.

Honestly, mediocre Chinese food. It’s a bit cheaper than the rest of the places but once they add the delivery charge there is no difference. Did not look at my note asking for chopsticks. After charging a 3 $ delivery fee on a sub 20 $ order they expected an additional tip. The delivery man argued that the 3 $ fee was for gas(I live about 2 miles away) and that I should give him 20% more. I declined and he told me to never order from them again. I won’t.

It’s a good place if u want some Chinese food. I try this place only once and so far happy with a food. Great combination plate and awesome price for the amount if food u getting. I got pork fried rice with beef and mushroom and crab Rangoon. It was very good. Really love Rangoon wish they would give me more them two as it was delicious. I was enjoying beef with mushrooms and it also had some onions and green piece. Sweet and sour sauce was delicious really enjoy that! General Gaus Chicken was very good. Right amount of spices. Vegetable Lo Mein was ok. Nothing special. I would definitely try this place ok as iit didn’t made my stomach upset which happens a lot with this type of food.

Ordered from here online. This place was just Average. Nothing special here. Their Chicken fingers & boneless ribs were good. I ordered their Beef & Mushroom Combo plate. Not very good. Fried rice was bland & flat. Their Beef & Mushroom Entrée was nothing more than pieces of beef & slices of mushroom cooked in soy sauce. A salty liquid mess. Next time I’ll pass on this place.

I wanted this place to be great takeout but it’s not. It’s just OK. We tried it twice. Pros: Take out service is friendly Take out food comes out very fast. Cons: Sauces are poor. Mooshi vegetables had a burnt taste. Brown Rice was old. It looks like it was boxed up a few days before so it was ready to go. I would not eat in the restaurant seating. Still looking for a good Chinese place in Newton…

I don’t usually love fast food Chinese, but this place is definitely the exception. Awesome food. Their pork fried rice is great, as is their sesame chicken. It’s always hot and fresh when we go pick it up, and their scallion pancakes don’t get soggy as quickly as ones from other places I’ve been to. Definitely my go-to place for quick, delish Chinese food.

if you are looking for fast, standard, good chinese food, fortune panda is exactly that. everything was good, and exactly what i wanted from a takeout chinese restaurant. even better, it did not leave me with the typical chinese-food hangover. for appetizers, we got crab rangoon, spring rolls. the spring rolls were perfect — crisp, moist, and not too big or small. the crab rangoon were also great. the sweet and sour sauce was amazing — i could not stop eating it long after the appetizers were gone. it was sweet with a nice pineapple flavor. i was really happy to see that they offered«the light side» part of the menu, where all the options are steamed and served with your choice of sauce on the side. choices include chicken, shrimp, tofu, and scallops with a great mix of vegetables including mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, onions, peppers, and pea pods. i chose the chicken, with the spicy garlic sauce on the side which was really good. my boyfriend ordered the shrimp lo mein, which i did not try but he really liked it. a friend also ordered the sesame chicken, which was very good. syrupy as expected, but not too sweet and the chicken was of decent quality. like i said before, fortune panda hits the spot for fast, good chinese takeout.

Let me start by saying the food is really good here. Fairly priced, and a good portion. The service is another story. If you sit down here, expect the bare minimum of service. The woman who plays hostess, takeout person and waitress is consistently cranky and always has a kind of attitude about her. I shouldn’t have to ask for water, and I certainly shouldn’t have to ask three times for it. God forbid you don’t get what you ordered, because the fault will somehow be yours. Good food. Horrible customer service.

Helen has run this restaurant for years and we get take out frequently here because of proximity, consistency, and value. The food is always good, they are always prompt and reliable. I’d love to see a few more authentic dishes added to the menu, but, that would be a stretch because of the local palette. Drop in and say hi to Helen, she’ll do a nice job for you on your order.

Really great food for great prices. It’s better when I sit down and eat in. The restaurant may be small but the food is always fresh, steamy hot, and delicious. I’ve been to this restaurant for years and I know the owner pretty well by now. The owner, Helen, is very friendly, kind, and happy to help me with anything I want to order. My favorite is the General Gau’s chicken, chow foon, house fried rice, and the sweet and sour pork. Highly recommended!

Pick Up Your Dinner — Just What You Expect Reliable, reasonably priced, ample portions of ‘Chinese’ food. Try the chicken with black bean sauce, beef chow foon, sesame chicken, or beef with broccoli. Be sure to ask for plain rice! We get pick up, not delivery.

This place blows. I went there 4 times in 6 weeks to see if their service would improve. Every time I got all veggies and small hints of meat. I was paying $ 8 – 10 for plates of veggies basically. They’re so cheap with their chopsticks and forturne cookies. I spend $ 20 – 35 each time and need about 5 chopsticks and cookies for everyone in my group but they give me the extra stuff reluctantly. Never going there again.
