This is a wonderful place! The food is delicious and organic. The coffee is probably the best I’ve had in Boston. The really special thing about the shop is that the owner really loves what she does. You are greeted with such a warm and inviting smile that you feel right at home and know you will be receiving great service. Broken grounds is an amazing addition to the neighborhood!

Fabulous new coffee, juice/smoothie, delicious food spot in Newton Highlands. Couldn’t be friendlier, and a true startup in every sense of the word. The owner/founder appears to be living her dream. Dark roast coffee was superb, pastry was delicious. A perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up as I had to bang out a few work emails while out and about.

Great coffee, especially if you’re a real coffee drinker who intends to drink it black. Café offers all manner of wraps, baked goods(including gluten-free) and smoothies. Have dietary restrictions? Try Broken Grounds Café.

Where to begin… Walking into this small, cute shop you are instantly greeted with a smile and a friendly«hello! What can I get for you?» and if you’re an early morning person it’s a good way to start your day. I’m big on ambience, which is something I wouldn’t expect a coffee/juice shop to really have, but surprisingly this place gives off a friendly, warm vibe and makes you feel welcomed. Not to mention the big windows across the walls let in tons of natural sunlight and warmth, and the resident Betta fish Miko in the sunny corner is cool to look at… Just don’t tap his bowl. I’m big on fresh juices and smoothies so this place is heaven for me. There is a wide selection to choose from, and I can tell you from experience(I’ve tried every single one of them) they are all delicious. The Green Dream is my go to. If you’re not into juices they also have a wide variety of coffees and lattes that make the generic coffee places look less appealing. Today I tried the Milky Way Latte and it was a life changer. So you’re here on an empty stomach? Not to worry, the breakfast burrito will 100% fill you up and get you going for the rest of your day. You don’t like eggs? Well there are plenty of flavors of quinoa or acai bowls to choose from. I recommend the Litty’s acai bowl, it has bananas and cocoa nibs, great for that sweat tooth. There’s also a wide selection on pastries and a little birdie told me that they might have gluten free treats soon! Lastly, even if you don’t care about earthy crunchy juices or vegan eating and just want your coffee and to get on with you’re day, coming here supports a local business and is good for the neighborhood economy. The owner Amelia, has poured her heart and soul into making Broken Grounds an inviting neighborhood oasis for the coffee and juice lover, and it really shows!!! Come to Broken Grounds, get a great coffee or juice, and support you’re local business and have a great day!!!

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Top shelf coffee, salads, bowls, pastries, smoothies, and other offerings abound, and the owner and staff share a wonderful attitude and demeanor. I make a point of passing by even if it means taking the long way home, and encourage everyone else to do the same. Local, authentic, and excellent are the best words to describe Broken Grounds. Well done and keep it up!

Found my new favorite spot! There definitely are not enough spots for truly organic, clean eating, healthy food/juices here, and so glad I found it. Everything is vegetarian, they have dairy and almond milk, and yummy, strong coffee. Bonus: they have a rewards program for juice and coffee :)

A nice little perch on the corner of Walnut and Floral, brightly lit by plenty of windows where you can enjoy a quick bite and watch the passers-by. Coffee and service are excellent. My egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel was hot and fresh, and the other items on the extensive menu all look tasty as well. Prices are not cheap as everything available is of high quality and well prepared, you get what you pay for! Look for this new spot to be a neighborhood favorite.

This is a lovely little café unlike the others nearby. Stellar menu. The bowls and juices are amazing! Every time I’m in she has a parade of customers(good sign!) and is so friendly. She knows most of them by name, too. I’ll be coming here more often! Already been here two days in a row, haha. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Quaint little café with a fresh and exciting menu. Great place to sit and work on your computer or read a book. I ordered the sweet beet juice and it was the perfect amount of sweet. Absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be coming here for breakfast this weekend.

So happy with the new owner, menu and service!!! Especially glad they have added hot breakfast sandwiches(I recommend the egg sandwich with hot cherry peppers and avocado!) A welcoming atmosphere and always friendly service!
