Aaron’s is a carnivores dream. In my opinion, their goods are better than anything you can get in the supermarket… and not by a little bit either! It’s better by leaps and bounds. Not only are the cold cuts and meats fresh and delicious, they also have close to 10 kinds of jerky and dried meat. They even Landjager’s, which are really hard to find. Oh yeah, they also have spectacular stacks of double smoked bacon. This is one of the best food shopping spots I’ve found in the area to date. Really great.

Truth be told, I don’t eat that much meat, but when I do I like it to come from Aaron’s. Hormone and antibiotic free, never frozen, and possessing a freshness so pronounced that it was likely on the hoof and chewing its cud at breakfast. Just look at the display cases. Everything emanates a glow of goodness. From ground beef, to sausage, to steak of every cut, Aaron’s Country Fresh Meats is the epitome of Truth in Advertising. Country. Fresh. Meats. No bull — oney! In the Newtown Farmers’ Market. Open Thursday — Saturday, only.

When you have moved around, as much as I have, finding a new butcher is one of many tasks. I have found one in Dan Madrigale’s Deli & Meats and in Ely’s Pork Products, which is a farm that raises their own animals for the purpose of consumption. . I have always been happy with the products that I have purchased from each of these places. Move over Dan and Ely, Aaron’s has won me over in a big way. Located inside the Newtown Farmer’s Market they have quite the selection in a very large section of the market., they also have a huge clientele. The glass enclosed cases seem to go on forever and even turn the corner with specialty meats. The meat market and deli started with beautiful cold cuts, shaved or thinly slice ham, if you are looking for something out of the ordinary, chances are they have it. Five kinds of slab bacon, including the black pepper crusted which is wonderful, especially on a BLT or a Club sandwich. Homemade hot dogs, some are flavored, nine different homemade sausages, of which we bought two kinds plus a kielbasi and I will never buy them in a grocery store again. Ground dark meat turkey, lamb, ham, their own meatloaf mix and the best ground beef I have ever made a burger from. It all has to be in the way they feed their animals, corn fed I do believe, this week I will remember to ask. Thick cut steaks, leg of lamb, boneless or not, prime rib to pot roasts, veal, chicken, chops of veal, lamb or pork. They even have ready to bake stuffed pork chops. When I first started shopping here I thought their prices were a bit high, but after tasting the awesome quality of the meats we have bought so far, they are a steal. The market is open Thursday though Saturday. All products are hormone and antibiotic free. So this little piggy went to Aaron’s Country Meat Market and this little piggy will also have prime rib roast beef along with some yorkshire pudding and this little piggy went whee whee whee all the way home!
