Got the Easter Ham here and only because I had a $ 50 gift card. ½ ham @ $ 8.99 a pound cost about $ 61. So, Easter ham for $ 11! Very tasty and a lot of leftovers. The store had a lot of customer traffic for Easter orders. I would not make the trip just for this store without some kind of incentive. Not worth the time to get here for this ham. Maybe the other foods they serve are just as good, but as I don’t live in the area I can do just as well around NE Philly.

Honey Baked Ham is the non-kosher name for a chain of primarily sandwich places where you can order a combination of sandwich, bread, drink, side and cookie for a prix fix. You can also order a full ham. This one is in the Village of Newtown section anchored by the Pier 1 store. The few times I have been there I have gone with Turkey Breast, Swiss Cheese with lettuce and mustard, Cole Slaw side, Snapple Ice Tea and a Peanut Butter Cookie. It comes in a cute box. They taste good, if not outstanding. The service has been friendly, but when I am there it seems the owner is there alone and doing all the work. This makes for a feeling that he is rushing around, for which he has my sympathy. I have also been a regular of another HBH in the Mercer Mall in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. That shop seems better organized, and the food is somehow more enjoyable. Still, when I need to eat at my desk or want to be in Tyler Park for an hour of nature, HBH offers a great solution.
