I go here often. Daily actually. Sometimes twice daily. They do a good enough job to get me to come back often for short grocery runs. However problems seem to have emerged over the past few months. 1. They began culling there smoke salmon section, cutting the best out and leaving fewer brands. Sorry but what I want is specific, the store brand is gross and cut too thick. The fresh fish section has gone down hill greatly since the summer. For now I’m going to competitor for my fish. I will give it to them, they can get farm raised dover sole in. which is a hard find. There are other things; I recently tried to make a special order from the meat dept and they never called me back even after I followed up for updates in regards to the order. I went to a competitor as I got fed up with them never calling me back. The competitor CALLEDMEBACK! It seems the poor are winning the battle of product. Less high end stuff is being carried and more low end stuff is filling the gap. I suppose to compete with Acme. This is saddening. Lastly…not sure who is in charge of this but certain McCaffrey’s could push for this; the parking lot is a death trap. Speed bumps need to be put in. Where«STOP» is painted on the road there should be stop signs and pedestrian crossing paths. More officers need to patrol the parking lot and actively ticket idiots using it as a speed track. I think I’m going to be curbing my twice a day runs and focusing elsewhere.

I felt like stopping here after seeing it a few times. I did a little tour of the store. It’s kind of like if Wegman’s had a baby. I love the way it looked inside. They offer a lot of organic options. I saw a few things around the I’ve always heard about, but never saw. All their produce looked decent. I didn’t buy anything. I was almost tempted to pick up some honeycrisp apples, but knew I could get ones less waxy looking elsewhere for a better price. The store seems a bit on the pricey side of the spectrum. I could only hope they have good sales!

Updating my review to 4-stars. McAfferey’s has breathed a little life into this location. They’ve spruced up the organic options, and now have a wide range of fresh organic product. Lots of berries, apples, greens, and even mushrooms now. Seafood section is great. Prepared foods is very good. They have some hidden gems, such as frozen organic veggies strewn throughout the store, and a very good dairy aisle. I like their prepared sushi, as well, the employees are very nice. Some of the staff could be a little more sophisticated about the food choices and demeanor toward customers. Some training would work wonders here a la making this closer to a Wegmans or especially Whole Foods experience. McAffery’s is like a local, convenient Wegmans without the breadth of selection but making a good go of things.

It’s a smaller version of wegmans. They have different kinds of food in the café. Great selection in the bakery and throughout the store. Employees are very nice and always helpful!

The store would be better if it were in a different area. too many yuppies and old people. An old man who was pushing a cart with a little girl in it decided I was in his way. Instead of saying«excuse me», the old goat hit me, that’s right rammed the cart into my leg not once, not twice but three times! Wonderful example he’s setting for this kid! People were this way throughout this tiny store-reaching in front of you, never saying«excuse me» or «sorry». This store attracts very ignorant people!

Excellent small market, a touch on the expensive side, but worth the price. You come here to get good produce, for the most part it is local when available, cheese and meats. The cheese counter is fabulous! The staff is friendly and helpful with good suggestions. The deli counter is always a pleasant experience, even if I have to wait. The staff genuinely is friendly so I have a good chat while they cut up my weekly turkey and cheese. Yes, the bakery is phenomenal! I love their breads and rolls. The rotisserie chicken isn’t anything to write home about and I haven’t been over-enthused about their soups. Still, from a selection standpoint I can always find a nice cut of meat, a good cheese, and rockin’ salad fixins for a great week of meals. Yes, if you are going for staples this is going to be anywhere from 1×1.5x what you pay at Acme or Giant if you don’t hit a good sale. Still, I am taking the trade-off for a very good product and consistently excellent service.

This supermarket is the best in town. That is not saying a whole lot though in small town USA. They have decent stuff but like another reviewer said no one level of Whole Foods, Wegmams or Trader Jos which is where I do most of my big shopping along with Costco. This is a supplement store. You go into to get those items that slipped your mind. All in all it’s great for what it is. The store is a wanna-be and carries so ups are items but it’s too small to have nearly the selection that would appeal to those with picky brand preference. What I like… decent salad bar, pretty good fresh bread and bagels, it’s clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They actually on their own ask me if I am finding everything. It’s nice to have customer service.

There are two entries for this supermarket, the other being, «McCaffery’s Supermarket.» Same store. Same experience. Slightly upscale compared to the nearest competition, Acme and Giant, but not up to the quality and gestalt of the Wegman’s, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s of the world. Have to wonder what would happen if one of those retailers came to Ntown, which has been discussed, but not yet evolved into a real plan. This shop has the mandatory Starbucks, and a pretty good produce department. The rest is the same as everyone else. Close your eyes and open them again, and you could be in any generic supermarket in the USA. No better. No worse. At least you know where everything is. Definitely, middle of the road grocery experience.

Good supermarket, but overpriced… There bakery is fabulous!!! I recommend their cookies, cake, and cupcakes. Their cheesecake has an odd consistency and was not very good. Their prepared sandwich are good. I like the one they have for the fall. It’s raisin bread with brie and turkey! The upside to the store is they have local foods that are a grade above what you would find in the average supermarket. As far as the grocery section goes, the store is very overpriced. There are barley any sales. I would shop here more often if the sales we’re better and the prices weren’t so high.

Don’t go to this supermarket if you want to go in, buy a few items and get out quickly. I went to the store at about 6 pm on a Sunday evening to pick up five items. It was the first time I’d ever been at a McCaffrey’s after hearing a lot of good things about them. When I got inside, I found empty spaces where some of the products I wanted should have been. Come on, is it really that hard to keep pre-packaged salads on the shelves? I found substitute items and headed to the cashier to pay. There was one express lane with several people waiting ahead of me. Did the cashiers do anything to speed the line? No, they though that was the perfect time to change cashiers, so we all had to wait while one cashier left and a new cashier took over. Overall, it took entirely too long to pay for five items. To make things worse, the Gala apples I purchased were not even fresh… very soft and mushy. This was the first time I shopped at McCaffrey’s and it will be the last time. I can find a better selection of products and pay much more quickly at Giant.

McCaffrey’s replaced the Genuardis not too long ago. It’s no Wegman’s or Whole Foods, but it’s a close runner-up. They have a great selection of soups, salads, and hot foods at their salad bar area, so it gets busy around lunch time. They also carry a large selection of organic/natural brands of food. I just bought a bar of extra dark 88% cocoa Endangered Species chocolate(my all time fav) yesterday. McCaffrey’s also saved my orchid’s life when it was in desperate need of orchid food.
