We ate there yesterday and it was the worst food I have ordered in a long time. Ordered the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp nachos the shrimp were so small and they had a brown coloring to them. The nachos were the same small shrimp and scallops. My husband ordered draft beer no foam and stale so he ordered a Stella bad taste too. We left and my husband was throwing up all night. Stay away!

This is Dad’s favorite place & he’s lived in the area for almost 25 years! Fresh fish & crab cakes were delicious! We are all from Maine & his favorite is the fish chowdah!(As Mainers say it!)

Fun location on the water near the drawbridge. You see the occasional dolphin or manatee in the key, too. Seafood Chowder is a must. Good grouper as well. They’ve done a lot of updating he last few years so it’s nice inside compared to when I came here as a kid. Still really enjoy it.

I had such high hopes for this place, with it being right next to Pops where we had had such a wonderful experience the night before. When we arrived there were three of us and we were waiting for three more, but were told that they couldn’t seat us until everyone was there. So the three of us took a seat at the bar and were promptly told by the bartender that we couldn’t sit there because somebody else was sitting there who had stepped outside to smoke. So we moved over by the window instead only to have the bartender tell us about three minutes later«oh I guess he’s gonna go ahead and come over here.» This bartender told us how she had recently moved to Florida from Pasadena Maryland, which is near where all of us are from so we thought this might be a common connection and we might get a better attitude and service from her but we were sadly mistaken. Overall she behaved as if working in this bar by the water in Florida was the absolute worst place in the world and the last place she ever wanted to be. She seemed overwhelmed with every request that was made of her service was extremely slow, and she left the bar for long periods to get things to restock with no explanation as to where she was going or when or if she would be back. We finally decided to just order our food at the bar, which was a mistake. What we should have done was gone to the host and ask to be seated outside with just our party of three, but since we were already at the bar we thought we would order there. The food was OK not great but the service was terrible. She acted as if she were really put out to have to serve us anything. When we dared to ask for dessert you would have thought we asked her to cut off her arm. We got a piece of Keylime pie that was actually still frozen and we had to wait for it to thaw out before we could eat it. So if she is any indication of the service you’ll get it and the food that we got is any indication of the rest of the food that you’ll get skip this place and go to pops instead.

Really good food but really bad service. Was there for almost 2 ½ hours and didn’t get my food until the two hour mark.

This is the worst place I’ve ever been to. This was my first visit. It started out Ok. The waiter was a wonderful young man. However as we were waiting for our food a waitress from another table came over and told me to get out of my chair because it belonged to her table and she had switched this chair for another customer. Not only did she want me to get out of the chair but told me to put the chair I was sitting on back to her table. The chair that she gave me back was broken and she basically said too bad. At this point I went inside to speak to the manager/owner? who basically didn’t give a care to say it politely. After I became upset he offered to give me half off my lunch. He said he would talk to Lexis that was her name but he didn’t. So it’s up to you just be careful not to sit in this waitresses chair even if she had changed the chairs herself. Pelican Alley has been a longtime favorite. THEBESTSEAFOODCHOWDERMONEYCANBUY. I didn’t put all of that in capital letters for nothing… it’s THAT good. The view is amazing: pelicans, dolphins, boats, everything you want from Florida. We have had pretty much everything here, a few off meals every one in a while but we’re forgiving because they are great most of the time.

We had a great experience at the Pelican Alley! First time eating there and we were very pleased! Had a great waitress Natalie, she helped us choose some great entrées! I tried the Po Boy wrap, delicious! Will definitely go there again

We love pelican alley! Local joint with great food and strong drinks. We often come by boat and spend the afternoon snacking on the home made onion rings and coconut shrimp while sipping on their toxic(in a good way) rum punch! Live music on the weekends and a new out door deck and patio, it’s a great place to relax and mingle with the local beach bums!

TERRIBLEESTABLISHMENT– poor service, incompetent management, and a lousy bar tender, all equated to a horrific dining experience. My family and I were mistreated and waited over an hour for a take out order of 7 sandwiches. After an hour of waiting, we were then told they ran out of Grouper and could not complete our order. When I tried speaking with management, I was nearly assaulted by another group of trashy patrons. Bad vibes all around. I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Cute place. Food was wonderful. My husband has the seafood chowder. He said it was the best. I had some Chicken dish that was on noodles with a creamy red sauce and chunky tomatoes. It was great. Service was awesome. We are outside watching the boats go by. Prices are excellent for the quality of food.

I had a fish(sorry I can’t remember type) with a sugary sweet mango sauce, overcooked with a side of carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. It’s FL so the 1970’s sides don’t surprise me but the food was unimpressive and lacked taste. I will give a great review to the dark haired bar tender who upon entering immediately greeted us and came out from behind the bar to seat us.

We love Pelican Alley! Their seafood gumbo and seafood nachos are outstanding. Their specials are always fresh. Love the view! Have come here many times and never have been disappointed. Don’t order the Casey Key Rum Punch if you are driving…

Sometimes it’s hard to rate a place because in one way this place would be considered a dive in another would be considered quaint… my husband and I took our 2 boys for a quick bite. We ate outside, the view was amazing… draw bridge, birds, boats etc. The furniture was old and seen better days. Service excellent! Food excellent! My mojito so so… the mint was brown and the drink a bit watered down. We ordered 3 apps and loved them all! The stuffed scallops soprano was amazing. So not fancy at all but great food we will be back!

Perfect bay setting at Pelican Alley tonight. Beautiful view, relaxed beach setting, tasty food, and ends with dancing and live music. What more can I ask for. We enjoyed the best chowder, a tasty broiled grouper sandwich, fried scallops, and a shrimp cocktail. We were hungry! Everything was good and Jordan, our bartender was great. We want to come back in our shorts with a group of friends. What fun! Lots of tables outside to sit and enjoy the music on a Friday night in Nokomis.

Ordered scallops over pasta … it was disgusting(scallops were grey & so over cooked that they were soggy.. the chef never heard of salt & pepper … and the pasta was uncooked and hard). I suspect the scallops & pasta were cooked earlier and then microwaved to reheat them(which certainly isn’t «sauteed» like the menu states). My wife’s salmon was tasteless and cold. We left and had dinner elsewhere!!!

Stopped here after listening to the drum circles on the beach. Take 2 which is the owners’ band that plays was playing that night. Best to get a seat outside for that. Cover songs and they are great entertainers! Tambourines, drum sticks and cow bells on the tables to get the crowd involved. Lots of fun! They want you involved and to get up and dance!!! We did! Food was decent. I had a grouper sandwich with fries. Grouper was good with decent portion. Fries… eh. I wish they were fresh cut. Seafood nachos were pretty good and ample seafood for price. Tops and Bottoms is a staple for my friend. She was slightly disappointed as they used fake crab this time. This is new and gave her a sad face. Beer prices were fair as well. Service was excellent!!! I would definitely go back for Take 2!

Very nice waiter with a great sense of humor. I had a great drink and my O-Loops were freaking awesome! They were sweet inside and perfect light and crispy outside, just like I love them! My Chef Special Chicken Pasta Alfredo was super tasty! The restaurant is located right on the Intracoastal with lots of things to check out décor-wise…kind of fun. My companions loved their meals as well. I think one had the calamari and another had the seafood type pasta.
