Food is unique and delicious, view is gorgeous, staff is friendly, a great place all around!!!

What a great meal, very unique combinations, loved the Caribbean Luau, and my daughter loved the Mahi Island wrap! Great service by Brooke! Awesome view, this place is a must!

Will be back to the Hut. Food portions are big and delicious. Had smoked fish dip and mahi sliders. Service was friendly and quick. The view is amazing anytime of day. Plenty of parking next door.

The service at this place was very slow. I was here on a slow day and my appetizer and food came out the same time and it took about 25 minutes. The food was average nothing really special.

I have been to Sunset Hut. enjoyed the food and beverage… and yes its a small place with limited parking. i have read all of the reviews. some are just down right mean. please understand. its a new eatery. i give it 3 trys before i review. u should too… I am a local here in nokomis. its a very good place.

Food, drinks, wait staff, and atmosphere were wonderful! The Mahi Mahi sandwiches were perfect as were the margaritas and quesadillas!

This is going to be our favorite place to eat and have a drink in Nokomis/​Venice area. Great selection! Oysters were wonderful. Also had the peel and eat shrimp and Philly cheesesteak — yum

Awesome view good service it’s the perfect spot for 5 o’clock there was live entertainment to enjoy small menu but just the right selection for a tiki bar

Beautiful sunset! Service was good. Katherine with a K was great. We ordered steamed mussels that came out cold and one had ice in the shell. She said she would put another order in, but than came back and said she was told to get the cold ones which was reheated and thrown on the same tray. They were ok for reheated frozen steam mussel, I guess. A dozen of shrimp (never ordered them by the dozen) were small, but good. Mahi slider’s and hamburger were good as well. Enjoyed the edamame salad. They had live music on ground level that was nice to hear up stairs and we were able to see our home team baseball game on the bar’s tv. Nice place to watch sunset and friendly staff.

Lived in the area 2 years and tried this place for the first time tonight! Our experience was EXCELLENT! Jeremy was our server and he was fantastic. Had a variety of items off the menu (shrimp cocktail, mahi bites, tzatziki chicken, turkey bacon wrap, edamame salad, tiki slaw) and everything was delicious! Prices were very reasonable too! Food did not take long to come out once it was ordered. Great atmosphere, live music and a beautiful view! Cannot relate to the negative comments posted as our experience could not have been more opposite of what other reviews stated! Will definitely visit this place again! Worth a visit for sure!

Go for gorgeous view but nothing else:(not good! Bad service and food is really subpar. Go for the ambience and watch the sunset here!

The service was great very nice people. I ordered the ahi tuna and it was ok. It had sauce all over it. Really good tuna needs to be dark pink not light pink. I received 5 small pieces of tuna for 17.00 dollars. Experience was fair. We didn’t order dinner we paid and left. It’s not for me.

This is a great place to kick back with a good drink and lots of options for munchies. We enjoyed it so much that we are bringing half-​a-​dozen friends back with us next week.

This place sucks. The service (Casey) was ok to start. It took 45 min to get an APP of nachos out? That’s unacceptable. When I questioned the server she was rude and said «it didn’t take 45 min». Yes, it did. That’s UNACCEPTABLE time for an app. Especially for nachos. Do not go here. It’s terrible and the excuses for the poor service and slow kitchen time are a joke.

This was our first visit. We were surprised there was parking available, as we arrived 15 minutes before sunset. I gave it 2 because it’s not worth the view.
As my companion and I ascended the stairs, a bearded gentleman told us that the two empty booths were reserved.
These prime sunset viewing booths were never occupied during our visit. We were instructed to sit at the end of the bar. These seats face in array of big screen televisions and in order to see the sunset one would need to turn around.
We had one drink and one snack, if we had been treated with more care, when he came to the seating, we would’ve stayed around and had full meals and multiple drinks.
The the cocktail while good was overpriced and served in a 10 ounce plastic beer glass with lots of ice.
The food was just OK. Sam the bartender was very courteous and efficient.
Upon exiting the bar we found the bearded gentleman and another gentleman smoking in the parking lot.
Very, very disappointed. I have been wanting to try this place for months.
If you’re looking for a waterfront establishment, go to Marker 4, The Crows Nest, or even, and I hate to say it Sharky’s.
I might try this place again if management responds to this review and makes changes.

Just went there on a Sunday night at dinner time and it was dead. I have never been there before. I asked for a booth for two and they had three booths open. They first told me they couldn’t seat me in a booth. Then when I spoke to the manager about it, he stated that if he did seat us there, he may have to move us if a larger group of 4 comes in. Really? I said forget it and drove off. That was my first impression of Nokomis Sunset Hut and last time I will go.

The view is great, especially at sunset! You can even arrive by boat! The pulled pork was good, my friend had a burger that she said she liked but they would only cook it well done! but 2 of us ordered different chicken items, which were fatty & inedible! The manager was very nice & did take the chicken items off our bill but I doubt we’ll go back for the food, unless we’re strictly planning on drinking! Parking is very limited and everything was served in plastic, including the utensils. All the employees were very friendly!

Can’t comment on the food, but they serve Mt Gay Eclipse rum and the the sunset beats anything between Venice and Key West. It took a long time for this place to open but I’ll bet by January you will have to know somebody to get in. Great live music, friendly staff and an amazing view.

Mahi Tacos were pretty good and a nice presentation. Kitchen seemed overwhelmed by a small lunch crowd,
Slow service.

Great location and view. Stopped on the for apps & drinks. Mussels were very tasty. Wine served in a plastic cup & the red was hot. Supposed to be 60 degrees and it was too warm. Nachos left a lot to be desired as I could have made better at home and not burnt the cheese.
Did share my opinion with mgr on duty. Will try again in a few months?
