Applebee’s

Terrible service. Told us it would be a 15 – 20 minute wait and it was a half an hour and they seated someone else that came in after us. Also one girl that works there took our credit card number and charged a bunch of fraudulent charges to the card. I think her name was Madi. Not very impressed.

The Shrimp Scampi Linguine was amazing. I am sitting at the bar and had great service. Kaitlin was personable and attentive. I gave it four stars based on other options in Norfolk and what I’d expect from an Appleby’s. The Caesar salad was lacking. Limp lettuce is so disappointing and so easy to avoid.

It’s an Applebee’s. It tastes about the same as any other Applebee’s. The downside is they aren’t very consistent with their food. I usually get the same dish when I go there. It’s my favorite and I don’t branch out when I have a favorite sometimes. The oriental chicken rollup is pretty simple. Each time I get it, there’s a good chance it’s going to be different. Either to dry, the perfect amount of sauce, or dripping with to much. They do have a good sized menu with plenty of options for whatever you are in the mood for. However, the menu keeps changing and I feel like my favorites are always disappearing. Sometimes they can still make them if they have all the ingredients, which is really nice, but not always. There drink menu is decent, I went here on my 21^st birthday, and my mixed drink was awful. The white peach Sangria is amazing though, that has not been messed up yet. I would suggest it, if you like sweet! The service has been up and down. The past few times I have been there the servers we have had have been great and friendly. Not always the case though. The nice thing is it’s not always very busy and usually you can get right in. We went on a Sunday at 12:30, prime church rush hour diners, and we got right in and didn’t have much of a wait on our food. I will continue to go here, partly because it’s one of the few options I have out here for a sit down restaurant, but it’s decently priced and there are a lot of options.

Disappointed the Norfolk Applebee’s no longer offers the Orange Chicken Bowl. Please bring it back!!!

Our service for lunch over the weekend was fantastic, but it’s still just an applebee’s– get’s the job done when you just want to eat anything but fast food while traveling! Like that they did have low-​cal items listed on their menus– at least it makes you feel better about eating out.

The food was adequate. The service however, was terrible.
I was meeting a party who was already inside, seated. I arrived at 7:55 p.m. and was greeted by locked doors and some high school aged employees inside making ‘monkey shines’ at me, pointing at their watches, and mouthing the words” WE’RE CLOSED” at 7:55 p.m. 7:55 p.m. !!! Thankfully, I had a cell phone and called the people inside I was supposed to meet. Eventually, one of the snarky high school aged employees opened the door and tried lecturing me about how Applebee’s closes at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings. (Who closes a restaurant at 8:00 p.m. on the weekend?) I showed him my watch which read 7:55 p.m. He still tried to give me attitude!
Norfolk Applebee’s: If you get some reasonable weekend hours and get rid of the snarky, lazy employees who obviously care more about getting off work in time to play XBOX, text their friends or perfecting their selfies for Facebook, I might be willing to give you another chance. Until then, I will go elsewhere.

Nasty, burnt food. The service was very poor. Drinks were even very low quality. Overpriced for what ya get

My son and I had dinner here. I ordered a sizzling steak but found it a bit dry. My son ordered fried shrimp with fries but didn’t finish and says it was okay. Service was fine, our waitperson is nice and helpful. Gave her 15% tip for that.

Consistent with other Applebee’s. Nothing stood out good or bad. Oriental chicken salad is one of my favs.
