Subway

This Subway has been a go to for my son and I for over a year with it’s location across the street from ODU’s campus. So this review is not only for this visit, but over 30 stops at this location. For the most part it’s clientele is college students. Several of the staff are college students as well. The place is always spic and span, but not a looker when is come to the dining room. The parking lot is tiny and often parking is an issue. However, with much of their business being foot traffic it does not affect them. On most days the parking lot looks pretty good and free from debris.
What I always felt disturbing is the staff rarely engages the customers and just goes about their job often not even looking up. On this particular day it was much the same with almost no eye contact from the male sandwich maker. The saving grace in the place is the manager who is always jovial and usually at the cash register. He is Indian and speaks with a heavy accent, but is very, very nice.
The sandwich of choice for my son is a Subway Melt. He never complains and says it’s good. I usually do not eat at the early time we are in the area, but he needs to with preparing to get in the pool for a 2 hour practice.
The place is fine, just would not be my first choice in the Subway chain. It’s at par, but not above and would not be my first pick of Subways that I usually frequent in VB. They have a great location and do very well, but service is lacking. No matter… this shop is pretty much gold.

Since I work across the street, I’ve been here several times. Every time I’ve been the service hasn’t been anything to write home about, but today it was horrible.
When I asked for a small amount of mayonaise the girl behind the counter put three huge beads of mayonaise on my small sandwich. I was flabbergasted. Then when I asked for mustard she said they were out. How is Subway completely out of mustard (any type) at 11 a.m.
Flabbergasted, she then gave me the nastiest look like I should have known they were out of mustard. Seriously?
Lastly the lady that runs the cash register is not helpful and never looks at you while she takes your money. And I hate the way she says «What kinnnndddddd?»
I’m never going there again.

Pretty much a regular subway. One of the better fast-​food places that is close to ODU.
