Great food and a bang for your buck. Service is kind of eh… especially during lunch when you’re in a rush.

Inedible. Warm sour sushi. Greasy noodles. Rolls are just rice with deep fried batter. The meats are old and chewy. The vegetables are soggy and old. Worse restaurant I’ve ever been to. Do yourself a favor and go to volcano if U want AYCE sushi.

I thought the food was great… can’t beat fresh sushi. My server was on top of our drinks and checked on us constantly. However the kitchen waiters are absolutely horrendous. They come to the table and talk so low you can’t hear a word and then get mad when you ask them to repeat themselves. Please speak up.

I order in from this restaurant frequently and I am always very happy with the food. In my opinion, this is the best.

Let me start with my family comes here quite a bit. Always a minimum of at least five us but normally more than that. Today just my husband and I came in for dinner at 545. We are still currently sitting here as it has taken longer then normal for our food replenishment to arrive. When we came in there were few tables with customers now that the volume has picked up it’s as if the service has gotten worse from where it started. We waited almost 10 minutes for someone to even greet us at the table to start. The quality of food isn’t an issue but service truly has been. For the amount of employees that are seen on the floor, things should be moving a bit faster, or so I thought. Please only come to this establishment if you have the time to wait and/or waste. Disappointed in the service we have received today :/

I went to Sushi King in Norfolk, VA twice on 15 May 2016. Once with a friend during lunch, and once with my husband for dinner. Both times, the services and food were good. Upon checking my credit statement though, Sushi King had charged me 3 times; twice were my totals including the tip, and then once for the total without a tip. I gave the transaction a few days to see if it fell off my account as an accidental charge, but once it posted, I went back to Sushi King to resolve the issue. The manager took my credit information from me to compare to her records, then came back without my information. She continued to try and talk in circles, without giving me my information back and tried to act like the fact that she was trying to keep it wasn’t concerning. She was extremely rude, and I had to yell at her before she would finally give me back my credit information. She refused to reimburse me for the extra charge. In the midst of all of this, she also said that this had happened to other people that week, and she would not refund them their money as well. I’m writing this review to inform others, because I am concerned that they are committing fraud.

Food was good, service was horrible. I have been to Sushi King in Hampton so I figured we would try the one in Norfolk while shopping one day. The food was good. The sushi rolls were fresh. We had a couple appetizers that were delicious as well. But our service was horrid. Our server had a very unpleasant demeanor from the moment we sat down. She did not refill our beverages nor did she check back frequently to determine if we wanted to order additional sushi. It was an extremely slow meal and I was frustrated beyond belief prior to leaving.

Went here a couple weeks ago, the sushi was great but the service was less than satisfactory. Our waitress smelled very strongly of cigarettes & often would disappear, nowhere to be seen. At one point we set a timer on the phone to see how long from her last visit to our table to the next and it took 33 minutes. That wouldn’t be so bad if the whole design of this all you can eat restaurant wasn’t based off of ordering continuously. The fact that our waitress was so slow & the wait time between orders was so long that it took us about two hours to complete our meal.

My wife and I dined at Sushi King prior to attending an event in downtown Norfolk. The food was decent. The service ok. The price not terrible. The décor was what you might expect from a sushi restaurant. Although, the bar was quite trendy. We agreed that it was the type of place we would go to for after hours cocktails. My complaint is what my credit card was ultimately charged. The total meal cost was $ 33.75. I left a $ 6.25 tip for a nice even $ 40 total. My credit card was billed for $ 40.50. Granted $.50 is no big deal. However, I expect my credit card to reflect my intention, rather than what the restaurant decides to plug in.

They are so lucky I have to write a review. me and my family decided we wanted some sushi and last time we went their hibachi was great and the sushi was fresh but today this soup was cold, the fried rice tasted like booked brown rice. When we tried to talk to our waitress to get a different order of fried rice she decided to get the manager, over and over we were trying to explain to the manager that the fried rice was not good and we wanted to take it all back and get a new order the manager decided she wanted to argue with us and say this is our fried rice and we couldn’t take it back. Long story short they were rude and inconsiderate and did not tend to our needs as customers I will not be returning. Ever.

This was the first time i visited this location. We had a groupon and I heard good things. There was plenty of parking in the parking garage behind the restaurant. When you first walk in it is very pretty. The atmosphere is so quaint. We were sat down next to a beautiful indoor stream. The ceiling had a fake night starry sky. The food is all you can eat. I have to say it was delicious. I tried a king roll which is my new favorite roll! The staff was polite and the food came out super quick. They have all konds of rolls, sushi, and entrees. My experience was very good and I will definitely be going back.

I remember when this sushi spot was named something else. It’s been that long since I’ve been here. Needless to say I was a little skeptical about all you can eat sushi for 19 bucks. I was happy and my skepticism was proven wrong and I’m upset that it took me so long to go to this place I won’t say it was the best sushi I’ve ever had but it was pretty good. All sushi spots are not created the same. The service was excellent. They will keep your glass filled with soda, water or whatever you’re drinking for obvious reasons. They had a nice little salad bar that complimented the sushi very well. I had about 3 different types of rolls. Maybe 4 I can’t remember. I also ordered the chicken teriyaki without rice. Just remember you have to pretty much finish what’s on your plate or you will be charged they don’t want you to waste food which makes sense so order as you go. You know what you can and cannot eat so don’t order seven different sushi rolls because you will get charged. Family friendly during the day.

ALLYOUCANEATSUSHI!!! I’m instantly a fan! You can order ANYTHING you want from the menu… as many times as you what… for the same price. Say whaaaat? No cheesy buffet here, it’s all freshly prepared and brought out to you in small portions so that you get the option to try a wide variety of things. Hands down, my favorite roll was the Volcano Roll with deep fried sashmi and crabmeat topped with eel sauce, spicy mayo and chili sauce. Totally worth it. I really enjoyed everything I tried here and if there were one in Charlotte I’d absolutely make it my regular sushi hang out!

I went here last night for dinner! My husband and I are new to the area and had purchased a Groupon! I was very happy to find a local AYCE sushi joint! My first thought about Sushi King was that I love the retro feel! The water feature and flashy lights give Sushi King a new age ambiance!(Perfect for a date night!) Now… the price!!! You really can’t go wrong for $ 18 with AYCE sushi! Most definitely worth every penny. We ordered a wide variety of nigiri and rolls! We will definitely be back soon!

I like this location a lot more than the Centerville one. It looks a lot nicer and it didn’t take as long for me to get my food. Honestly, I never expect much coming here. The quality of food is usually lacking, but I was surprised to see more items on the menu(like teriyaki tofu). I got a salad but a lot of the lettuce was soggy. My cucumber rolls were good and I enjoyed my vegetable tempura. I decided on the hibachi vegetable plate and was served a bunch of chopped, sautéed onions and a few pieces of broccoli and carrots. It tasted good, but more variety of vegetables would have been nice. This location has soft serve ice cream, but the bowl I got it in was dirty. I was kind of afraid to leave it due to their constant need to remind you that you’re charged for the food you don’t eat. I was prepared to state my reasons, luckily no one asked. The service was decent. Our waitress was quiet and checked in a few times. Overall my visit was just okay.

First time visit wth a friend. He had a Groupon which gave us a two-for-one all-you-can-eat special. Great location with lots of parking. Not that busy but it was a Thursday night. Very nice interior with ample seating and well laid out design. While this place has the same name as other locations in Hampton Roads the menu and options are different. The Chesapeake location doesn’t except Groupon’s either. We started off with the salad bar and they had the usual options: Kani salad, edamame, asparagus, and a very nice salmon bowl. The sushi was very fresh and flavorful. The specialty rolls were well prepared and presented beautifully. They had just the right amount of sauce which is something that a lot of places tend to go overboard on. If you’re going too try anything go for the volcano roll. Superb! One thing that I wish they offered is half-size rolls. That way you can try multiple things without getting a full specialty role. We finished with steak hibachi and beef yokosoba. The hibachi was fantastic, cooked just as we ordered and the vegetables were tender-crisp. The yokosoba was OK but not something I would order again. Bottom line, if you’re in downtown Norfolk and want to decent all-you-can-eat sushi feast… This is sure bet. The only complaint I have is that the booths aren’t mounted to the floor and if they see somebody behind you they flex and move which can be quite annoying.

How am I just now writing this review?! This place is AMAZING, I only wish I would’ve told everyone sooner. The inside décor is really outstanding, I can’t believe how upscale it looks, especially compared to the other Sushi King locations. Makes you feel like you’re on a Japanese film set or something… The service is excellent! I’ve talked to the manager, Kelvin, multiple times, and he’s so friendly and makes sure we get the best service possible. And the foooooood OMG… The lunch price is really the best deal, esp seeing as the quality is really great. I lived in Japan for 2 years, and this def is the closest miso soup and(steamed) gyoza I’ve had in the states. The sushi always comes out fresh, and that volcano roll… To die for! Sushi King is so much fun. OH and this one has a «salad» bar with some fruit, desserts, and Asian salad mixes all included in your price. I just went yesterday and already can’t wait to go back.

I’m a frequent visitor with my boyfriend and family. For the money and endless options it is definitely worth it. The service is always pretty quick. The only problem is… sometimes you’ll get a server who literally doesn’t speak English. Now, I’m aware that this is a Sushi restaurant and I believe it is family owned so some of the waitresses might not be American.haha. However, this one poor girl didn’t understand anything. I had to point to everything I wanted and she still managed to bring us a few wrong things. I’m an easy going person but if you’re an ass to your servers when you go out, I recommend you skip this place. Save yourself the frustration and them the embarrassment. All in all it’s worth five stars. Everyone here is very attentive and kind.

I’m not sure why people from work keep wanting to go here. What is the thrill of AYCE sushi when the sushi is not that great. I had a Christmas and a Rainbow roll, and while the quality of ingredients was good, there was very little sushi flavor due to the super skimpy amounts of actual fish in there. I felt like I ate a plateful of cucumber and rice. My co-worker was in raptures over her veggie rolls, I guess the profit margin on those is not close to the ones with actual fish. Out waiter appeared to be new and was rather goofy. We had to pay in cash to get out because their credit card machine went down. Hit this place up on 9÷25÷215.

this place has it’s pros and cons Pros: it’s AYCE sushi for $ 18 + cost of drinks(reasonably priced). menu has A LOT of options that aren’t just sushi but many Japanese items(no noodles though) service was actually good Cons: slow with the sushi orders quality of fish is ok at best warm sushi rice? strange overall quality is acceptable over stuffing yourself on ok sushi isn’t that exciting.

When it comes to sushi, it’s usually hard to find a place where quality and price are in perfect harmony; however Sushi King shatters that dilemma. For only $ 20 you can have all the rolls you can handle at excellent quality. You can also get all the entres and sides bought to you as well. Since the food is made to order and prepared in a kitchen, it tastes so much better than what you would find at any Buffett. I love ambiance of the restaurant, the music they play is good, the eclectic furniture is fun to sit in, and they even have a koi pond with a waterfall coming down. The staff is usually very friendly and I have no problem leaving them a generous tip every time I eat here. The only issue I have with this place is that, the desserts are pretty lack luster, but the other food certainly makes up for that. I would definitely come here again and I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers.

Of all the AYCE sushi places in the area, this is probably the best I’ve been to by far. I was a little skeptical at first because I’m not a big fan of the Sushi King in Centerville, but I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I was confused because the menu at this one is pretty different. The whole atmosphere of this restaurant is a lot better. In my opinion, the food even tasted better. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated in a booth when we arrived. Once we were seated, our server quickly came to greet us and take our drink orders. We then went to the salad bar, which was very good and had a lot of variety. Our server was quick to take our order after that and was very attentive. I definitely enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be coming back to this location. I would recommend the place to anyone wanting AYCE sushi.
