If you’re craving some decadent custard with added toppings then this is the place to go! I ordered a large Reese’s peanut buttercup & Butterfinger custard with peanut butter sauce on top. And let me tell you, that was EXACTLY what I needed on a 90+ degree day. The store was kind of eclectic/quirky mix of vintage ice cream scoops and ice cream bucket/makers, a few stools to the side, a drive-thru window and not much else. 3 employees and prices that were comparable with other custard places nearby.

I’ve been going to Rusty’s for years now. As much as I like supporting local businesses, I’ve had to stop coming here. I find it very expensive for what you get. They don’t even post their prices on their menu which I find completely crazy! The candy bar toppings are always stale and taste like they’ve been sitting there for the past year. It’s good, but not that good.

Best frozen custard in town. The staff is wonderful as well. I always love the Foreman and they give you so much that I have to get the kiddie size! I have created my own concrete before just with vanilla custard and Oreos. This was also delicious! They even have chalkboard walls that you can write on while you wait for your order(which is only a couple minutes). Thanks Custard Factory! You never disappoint.

Amazing custard with lots of fresh options. This place is a rustys and owned by rusty.(I think the name changed in a divorce). You really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors and the staff is always friendly. My only complaint is there menu has had the prices taped off for quite some time, but we go often enough we know what we are paying.

I ate up the love thing concrete so fast, I can’t even remember it. Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant or it was a hot day(or both), but it’s always great to have a refreshing treat when the temps are up. We went through the drive-thru and it didn’t take very long at all for our order to come out. I like the options to customize your dessert as I opted for chocate chip cookie dough instead of chocolate flakes. Not bad.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been here a few times and never had anything but the best service. I really enjoy all of their frozen custard but I’ve also had the shakes which are equally great. The vanilla is not as tasty as a flavored custard so make note of that. Nonetheless it was very good. Only complaint was once I had a bit too much cherry sauce in my treat and it was just overwhelmingly sweet to the point I couldn’t eat it and tossed about ¾ of it. This is probably one treat I will enjoy year round. Doesn’t matter if there is two inches of snow on the ground, it’s that good. Enjoy!

Great custard. The kids loved it after a disappointing OU football game. The Concretes here are so good!

A college throwback weekend isn’t complete without Rusty’s — now The Custard Factory. I got my usual — chocolate flakes and strawberries. Everything has been renamed, but it’s still there on the menu! It was still as delicious, as I remembered.

This is my favorite place for dessert. I always get a vanilla concrete with M&Ms and caramel, but their pumpkin pie(seasonal) custard is great, too!

Previously known as «Rusty’s frozen custard,» this place is awesome! My wife and I will never go anywhere else in town for dessert if Rusty’s is open, and since they are open until 11pm every day that’s pretty rare! They have tons of already put together concoctions on their menu, but you are free to have whatever mix you can come up with also! Rusty himself is there quite often, but even when he isn’t the mostly college age kids that work there are super super friendly and helpful. Definitely a must have if visiting Norman, and definitely needs to be your regular dessert stop if you live here!

Come to rusty’s during October/November for their limited time only pumpkin custard! I’m in love with the pumpkin pie concrete: pumpkin custard, mixed with pie crust and pecans, topped with whipped cream. My usual favorite is the volcano: vanilla custard mixed with dark chocolate shavings and strawberries. It’s super rich– so the kiddie size is the best bet.

Okay but nothin special. I should say that I like this location better than the one on Main Street. I’ve been to Rusty’s probably somewhere near a dozen times in total, and it is what it is, which is not terribly bad but barely meets the mediocre mark. The lack of competition in the frozen custard market in Norman really shows in Rusty’s, as it’s never been terribly impressive in terms of flavor to me. Likes: They have frozen custard, and it tastes decently good. They have a couple decent concretes on the menu, and they’re an old Norman favorite. Dislikes: General lack of excellent flavor. It’s okay, but I’d gladly drive 10 minutes north to Freddy’s, where they serve better custard and have many more options on the menu(i.e. Chicago style hot dogs, steakburgers, etc.). I couldn’t care less if Freddy’s doesn’t have«real» custard. Rusty’s is also slightly expensive, though not ridiculous, and they often have very slow service. Rusty’s is okay, but Freddy’s is great. Even if you don’t wanna leave town, I’d recommend hitting up Braum’s before you do Rusty’s. I guess I just expect more flavor when I’m spending $ 4.50 for a concrete.

Rusty’s is the jam. Its hard to go wrong here. You just show up or go through their drive through and pick something delicious off the menu. Their prices are awesome and their custard is awesome.

Rusty’s has really great frozen custard. The people who work there are always friendly and accomidating. I love to order the vanilla with strawberries and bananas or the vanilla with snickers but I would bet it’s all great.

Many people rave about the frozen custard here. I’ve never understood the fascination. It’s okay, more velvety than ice cream and thicker than a milkshake, quite rich. But you pay a premium, and I’d rather have gelato. The Alameda location is the original. They also have a location on Main St., near W. 24th.

I’ve been going to Rusty’s since its birth, and I still love it! I always get the chunky monkey(kiddie size, since I’m a whimp when it comes to cold stuff, I have weak teeth) which has brownies and bananas in it. Yummy! Their other concoctions are wonderful too. I think this stuff has fewer calories than ice cream, but that could be a lie. Regardless, it’s quite addictive, and I make a point to visit one of the locations during my visits back to OK. I reviewed this one because I was here last night, and the drive thru guy was really friendly. So four stars for customer service and the custard always being up to snuff at both locations! :)
