I had a good dinner, probably a 3.5 star dinner, but definitely not a 4 star dinner at O on a Saturday night. We arrived at 7 and the place was hopping, at least 85% full. Several additional tables came in while we were eating, so the place was doing a brisk business the entire time we were there. Service was good throughout our evening, but not great. I’ve certainly had worse, but we had to wait more that once on water refills and for our check to be taken. I don’t blame the server, I think they had her at too many tables. To start, we split the Asian sampler, the calamari, and the crispy ahi wontons. The sampler was a decent value for $ 14, you get two of the following: crab rangoon, crispy spring rolls, chicken satay, potstickers, and salt and pepper shrimp. My favorite item on the sampler was the crab rangoon, it had a lot of flavorful filling and was fried well. All of the items on the sampler were good though, I would order this again. The calamari is sliced into long strips and fried crispy. This was a nice change over the typical fried discs you get when you order calamari. The dish wasn’t over-fried, and comes with a nice dipping sauce. My favorite appetizer overall was probably the ahi wontons. For $ 5 you get 2 pieces to an order, so sharing with a group of 3(like we had) was a bit difficult, but not impossible. There is plenty of fish, it’s good quality, and the accompaniments(seaweed salad, eel sauce, mayo) played well. The wonton was perfectly fried and was a nice vesssel for all this stuff. Absolute re-order. After the appetizer round, we were looking forward to our entrees. This is where the wheels kind of came off, and the reason I am giving O 3 stars instead of 4. The entrees were average and inconsistent. I had the crispy firecracker with beef and garlic fried rice. I got no taste of garlic in the rice, so it’s possible I was just given normal fried rice. If I was given garlic fried rice, it needs a lot more seasoning. The server asked how hot each of us wanted our entrees on a scale of 0 – 5. I ordered a 4 and only found heat in a couple of bites. I didn’t want my mouth set ablaze by ordering a 5, but I definitely wanted some heat. Also, I hardly had any vegetables in my entrée, and the menu description states it includes onions and bell peppers. I had some, but not many. Regarding the spice level, my buddy ordered his meal(the bulgogi) at a 4 as well, and he was sweating his entrée was so hot. There was no consistency in the seasoning, which was frustrating. All three of us were not impressed with our entrees. O has a great reputation in Norman, and rightfully so. We need more menus like this in town, and the food was made with what appeared to be quality ingredients. The interior has a nice bar, lots of comfortable seating(although the pillows at our table were more in the way than they were providing any comfort), and a nice atmosphere. I will definitely return. But, I will try something different, and request additional heat in my dish. Hopefully I can bump O up a star with a future update.

They make the best sushi in town. If I’m not having sushi, the Tai beef noodle soup is hard to resist and I always start with an octopus and sea weed salad.

This was a welcomed surprise during our trip to Norman. I relaxed when I stepped foot inside, felt welcomed, and at home. Delicious food, great presentation, and impeccable service. I will be back.

Sadly the experience was not good. Salad Excellent. Tom yum soup Excellent. Stir fry w shrimp served cold with hard tasteless brown rice. When returned to me it had been reheated poorly and served on same plate which was slightly warmed like from a heat lamp. Asked manager about it — he said it was reheated in a wok and walked off. I’m sitting at bar where register is. Have been here over an hour. He has been out several times, chatting with other patrons and has neither spoken nor asked how my meal was. The check reflects additional up charges that weren’t explained. I will pay, tip my server and depart with seriously negative, nay awful commentary regarding this negligent, below average dining experience.

The waiter was in training but the service was great! Most of my food was good. I like that they customize the level of spice on my dish. The«house» salad was lame. Just out of a bag from Sam’s, otherwise I’d give a five star.

From take out to dine in, O is our favorite. We eat our weight in sushi and osoba noodles everytime!

Love this place! One of our favorites… inside has a super cool pacific rim vibe. Service has always been great. Great sushi bar, cocktails and wok dishes.

My better half and I have been in love with O for years now. Its very convenient and when we want to make a quick run for sushi or dine it we most always go here. Food has never let me down and we are avid sushi lovers. Service has been great and we have really created a friendship with most the employees working there. Always great service and we have never been disappointed.

Really great waitstaff helps diners ignore the Steven Segal décor. Fast, friendly and inexpensive. The Asian sampler plate is fun to share although the crab rangoons are much like a crabby Toaster Strudel. My Heaven Roll sushi really hit the spot for this whitest of the non-ethnic ladies. The Soba noodles — which the menu claims are a diners’ favorite — was a miss for me because of weird cinnamon aftertaste.

Your meal is made to order– including sushi so they warn of a wait but we got our food in a timely manner. The philly roll was delicious! I love the crispy orange chicken– I can usually make 3 meals out of it. The curry is really tasty too! Levi was our server yesterday and did a fantastic job– he was quick, attentive, and friendly.

I’ve never had a bad experience here despite the reviews. I’ve been coming for years with groups and just the family. Happy hour offers some great deals. I love the tempura shrimp /vegetable appetizer. The Cowboy Roll is my favorite(tempura blackened tuna). If you’re alone or a couple, sit at the sushi bar. Strike up a conversation with the sushi chef. They’re conversational if you speak up and you get your food fast even if you don’t.

Good and prompt service. We had the vegetarian rolls, chicken cashew and Osoba noodles. Chicken cashew was flavorful but not spicy. I really liked the Osoba noodles. I had them make it 5 star spicy and absolutely loved it. Will definitely visit again.

My husband and I took our family(7 people) to this restaurant. Food was fabulous! We had 3 California rolls, the heaven roll and 3 salmon rolls, spicy California roll, totaling 8 rolls in all 2 appetizers and 3 desserts. I selected a white wine and my husband and another adult had beers with our meal. We ordered one kids meal. Service was extremely lacking. Not attentive and we had to wave her down for any type of service. To top it off when she brought out our check they had added 20% gratuity to our bill. I guess since we had four kids with us they assumed we wouldn’t tip. We normally tip well above 20% so I guess if you look on the bright side they did save us money. But it’s extremely frustrating(especially when you have bad service) not to be given the option of what you will tip. Also makes me wonder since they knew gratuity would be included in our check they wouldn’t have to worry about waiting on our table. There are plenty of other great sushi places to choose from in the Moore/Norman area. We won’t be going back!

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but they have nice dark wood inside, simple but comfortable décor. The sushi is excellent but I usually go straight for the stir fry options. I’ve had the cashew, ginger, and basil stir fried and they have all quickly become my favorites. The servings are large and filling: a big scoop of rice(garlic rice is the best), and a steaming helping of veggies with chicken is how I get everything. Spice levels are very low compared to other restaurants, so if you like a little heat, get level 4 – 5 or you won’t be able to taste it. Service is almost always good. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The management is also very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Three times we have been to this restaurant in the past two years. I keep forgetting how much I dislike it, which is the only reason I keep coming back. Maybe finally writing a review will keep me from making this mistake again. First the food. I understand it’s“fusion” so it wouldn’t be fair to compare the menu with what I have enjoyed abroad. But in my opinion there are definitely better choices in Norman. The sushi is on par in both quality and price with just about anyone else around. Nothing special there. The décor is nice, as noted in other reviews it used to be a pizza hut. They did pretty well. Service has always been slow here no matter what. Busy or not it seems they revel in making people wait. Ive never had any of the staff act rudely though. There is one particular person there who causes me a great deal of annoyance. He seems to be a food runner/bus boy. Each time we have visited, I have watched him do some very annoying things. This will take a few lines to explain. First off, the kitchen has only one two-way door. It’s obviously due to fitting this restaurant(and bar) into an existing space. So, understandably for safety’s sake the employees need to be exta careful before passing through the door. Well this young man takes it a few steps beyond. He loudly announces his approach to the kitchen and kicks the door open. Imagine listening to this over and over through the course of your meal. Ugh. I have seen him smirking while doing this which tells me he clearly knows his game has been disguised as a necessary measure. What defeats this concept is that I have yet to witness any other employee doing the same. Second…well the door routine and smugness of this individual causes me to focus my attention on him and look for other fault. If that was his goal then he has certainly succeeded. While the sushi chef/cook(I simply don’t know his credentials) so carefully prepares and handles our food while wearing gloves, then why on earth should it be okay for this young man to stick his fingers in our food??? Assuming they are for carryout orders, I have seen him palm sushi rolls to the kitchen on several different occasions… before AND after hadling a dish towel/dirty dishes/etc… Ill stop with that and say that the food overall isnt bad but I have a real problem with paying $ 14 for a plate of bulgogi that is mostly stir-fried vegetables. I can do much better at home. The kid with behavioral isses trumps their food and the prices make even that a losing proposition. Sorry, O Asian Fusion… I gave you several chances. I won’t be back.

O has become hit and miss, but when it’s a hit, it’s pretty damn good. Atmosphere: 4 stars Sometime the music is a little loud and with surrounding conversations the restaurant can get a little loud, but otherwise, it’s pretty typical. The restaurant is a remodeled Pizza Hut, and they’ve done a great job at remodeling it. It’s darker inside and with nicer feel. The dining area is pretty open, and fairly small. There is one large table in a corner for groups more private. Benches along the sides with pillows offer a trendy feel. The sushi bar is at the back and you can watch the chefs prepare items from most seats in the dinning area. If you are not into that, there is a TV there to distract you as well. There is a full bar at the front with some TV’s that are viewable from throughout the restaurant as well. Some people think this place is appropriate for kids, but I don’t see it. It’s not really upscale like you need to dress nice, but it seems to attract a younger crowd and couples without kids. Another queue, there is no kids menu! Likely for a reason. On the few occasions I’ve been here with kids who are not happy or well behaved, it clearly bothers other people and the staff doesn’t really know what to do with them. It echos though the whole restaurant and really ruins it. They do have high chairs though for the few who have well behaved kids. Wait Staff: 4 stars Most of the time the wait staff is great. They get the orders right, they bring items out quickly, and make sure you are all set. Menu: 4 stars The menu has lots of creative features, as well as some of your basics. They have stir-frys, curries, noodles and rice, and suchi. They have some unique twists on suchi rolls like the college roll, which seems to be popular. They also have a small selection of desserts. Food: 4 stars When the food is good, it’s great! Typically things are not too salty. Spice is a bit on the mild side compared to a traditional Thai restaurant, but you just need to learn your level here. I’ve had the stir fries, noodles, fried rice, appetizers, and sampled some suchi and desserts, and most of it was really good. The desserts were disappointing, but everything else has been wonderful. Now for when it’s not good… There have been a few times I’ve been where the chicken is awful. It’s been grisly before, and on a number of occasions, the chicken taste and texture has been like it’s been cooked previously and reheated. It gets dry, rubbery, and has that off taste you get from reheating chicken. For a place that’s supposed to make everything fresh, that’s a deal breaker for me. But it’s rare enough that I still come back, because most the time, it’s really good. They make their sauces from scratch as well, and the flavors are pretty good and balanced. My husband loves the sushi and says for the price, it’s great. It’s not stellar, but it’s sushi you can eat often without bankrupting yourself. Price: 4 stars Prices are a tad on the high side, but I think you are paying for the ambiance and better wait staff more than anything else. Compared to my favorite hole-in-the-wall Thai place, it’s more expensive, smaller portions, but better service and nicer atmosphere. And while I say smaller portions, it’s still plenty. I’m a person with an appetite, and I never leave hungry. Overall: 4 stars Yes, you may have a mediocre meal here from time to time, but overall, it’s a good place with many options, and different twists on your usual Asian cuisine. It’s good enough most of the time that I keep coming back for more. Just wish their quality was a little more consistent.

I’m not sure if O Asian Fusion used to actually be better, or if I just thought I liked it better because I was excited about a sushi restaurant so close to where I live. Either way, I’m not a big fan of the sushi at this point. There is a great variety of food but nothing there stands out as really yummy. I do enjoy the chilled out environment and that it’s usually easy to get a table!

A friend introduced me to O this week while I was out visiting her. I love a good Asian restaurant, and I have to say I was pleased with the food and the service at this restaurant. For a former Pizza Hut, they have done a nice job making the inside look far from your childhood favorite pizza place. I ordered the Tom Yum soup for something spicy and salty. It was tasty, and the portion was huge. I can’t imagine what the bowl is like! The spicy garlic stir fry was my choice for dinner. It was a bit hard to decide with so many option on the menu, but this was a customer favorite, so I thought I’d give it a try. The presentation was wonderful. The broccoli was cooked well — still crisp and not soggy. I ordered the plate with chicken, and a spice level of 4. It wasn’t spicy enough for me, but my friend shuddered when I ordered it that spicy. I ordered it with jasmine rice, but I’m not quite sure that it actually was jasmine rice. I typically cook with jasmine rice at home, but this did not have the same texture or the tell-tale scent it usually has. To me it seemed more like goya medium grain rice. They were out of jasmine tea, so instead I opted for oolong. It wasn’t bad, but there were no sweeteners on the table so it wasn’t exactly to my liking. I splurged for dessert. I tried the cheesecake roll, but it wasn’t anything special. Actually the first thought that came to mind, was that it was something from the OK state fair — I’ve been there actually lest you think I’m some New Yorker who doesn’t know what she ‘s talking about. Presentation was good though — bonus points for that. Overall, I had a pleasant experience, but there are things that could be improved upon such as: cleanliness — the center bar/former fountain thing in the middle seemed dirty and sitting next to it I could see stains and what not. The table also looked as if there maybe have been some residue left behind. Our server was great — she was pleasant and attentive. However there seemed to be too many other workers there for the amount of people in the restaurant. This may have been because OU was playing in the sugar bowl that night and everyone was home enjoying the game… not sure. A solid three stars for O. Food was good, and I’d come back again based on that!

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in town. Love the Heaven and Sexy Lady rolls. I also love making my husband order the Sexy Lady over the phone. Speaking of that, we tend to order more take out here than we dine in. Friday and Saturday nights you should expect a crowd. It’s one of the few nicer places to eat on the east side of town and it sees a lot of traffic, especially during football season. I have never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered there and the one time there was a small mistake, the fixed it promptly and gave us free dessert.
