Eve’s is a non descript shop in the corner of a strip mall on the edge of Norristown. Step inside though and it feels like you have walked back in time to Zep central. I had the small zep which is served on a hamburger like bun, with thick cut meat, onion, and tomato, with oil and oregano. I would prefer a crustier roll such as what is served with the medium and large zep’s. Drink choices are all bottles and the business only takes cash. Will return.

Excellent neighborhood place to eat. You get a lot for what you pay for. Good food, great atmosphere, friendly service in owners, I would highly recommend to anybody wants to go have a good meal to go here.

Amazing sandwiches! Ordered sandwich trays for a birthday party! All of guests that grew up in Norristown were thrilled! We all had an Eve’s memory /story to share from our childhood !

I live around the corner so This place is really convenient for a quick lunch. I did not think the Italian zep idea was very innovative since I always order my Italian hoagies with lots of onions. I’ve also gotten cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak. Maybe it was just that day but the meat wasn’t flavored well and they slice the meat really thick so when you take a bite, it all falls out. I do really like their onion rings!

If you happen to get to Eve’s when your luck is with you, you can expect an awesome steak sandwich. But, it’s the luck of the draw and this time I lost. My steak sandwich was not good at all. The meat seemed dried out. I asked for fried onions but got very few. The over all taste was just not up to par. What a big disappointment. I may give it a try in about 6 months with hopes I’ll get lucky again. For now, I’m going elsewhere.

Been going to eves since they were at the old location over 10 years ago. No longer in the area but still make it there a few times a year. Cheesesteak zep is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Over 10 years and the only other thing I eat is the tuna hoagies, which I like to pack for bike and ski trips.

Best cheesesteak in PA in my book. The Zeps are always great. We usually buy one of each and share ½ and we enjoy both in one sitting. He staff is always nice and the place is always clean. The rolls are always fresh along with the meats. We can’t help but stop by every time we are in town.

Couple things to mention, portions are huge! You definitely get your money’s worth here. Everyone is all about the Italian zep, surprisingly as I am Italian, I’m not a huge fan. However I hear they’re the best. I’m hooked to the cheeseburgers. It’s on a long roll and two beef patties. Again ridiculous portions. The onion rings are boss also!

Usually get my Zeps at Lois. Heard much about Eves and was in area tonight. Heresmy advice, if you have time, go in town to Lou’s. If no time, go a block down to primo’s. My first hint of a problem was the kid bitching about the company as he was making them. Tuna zep was all bread and stale at that. The Eves special zep had crap meat on it. Very poor quality sandwiches. I will Never go back. there again.

The Zep and the Cheesesteak Zep are both delicious. Even the medium sandwiches are massive, so order accordingly. The meat is always perfectly seasoned and the ingredients taste very fresh. Highly recommended.

The sandwiches here are always good. The older ladies who make them are so nice. The nasty young girl who answers the phone and slams it down telling you to hold is horrible. Whenever you order she tells you 20 mins. Ok no problem, but the last time I ordered and it will be the LAST time I got there 10 min into my 20 min wait time. No problem I was fine with waiting for my sandwich to be made. The middles aged blonde who I would suspect to be the nasty 20 something’s mom says with an attitude, «your pretty early we said 20 min!» Ok maybe I can just pay and wait it’s not a big deal I said. Then the two of them just started mumbling stuff under their breath. I can’t say for sure they were talking about me but when you get that vibe often your right. They really need an overhaul on the front if house staff. The sandwiches are very good though. I just refuse to pay someone who is constantly rude.

A three star review and even a four star review are not shocking for this place, but I have to give them five stars. I truly think this is my favorite tuna sandwich… I’ve had better tuna and I’ve had better sandwiches, but the way they prepare their zeps is special. Eve’s Lunch only sell Zeps, which is a pretty large roll with no lettuce. The slices of tomato and onion are really thick. More like they slice the onion and put the entire onion patty on your sandwich. With their special seasoning sprinkle added, it just doesn’t get better to me. I’ve eaten the tuna at almost every restaurant that has it and Eve’s is at the top or possibly even the top. I think it’s the roll that puts this over the top, because everything else is just so basic. This place is cash only. I’ve tried the cheesesteaks and I didn’t think it was very good. Too much roll for me. Probably not even in the top 20 for cheesesteaks in my opinion. The other zeps are great too. I was so nervous the first time I ate the sandwich, because I love lettuce, but it really wasn’t missing. The onion added the crunch I was looking for.

Philly has their big cheesesteak pseudo rivalry between Pat’s and Geno’s which is silly because they both suck. Here in Norristown they have the big Zep rivalry between Eve’s and Lou’s which is silly because they’re both awesome. I know it’s blasphemous but I enjoy both spots equally for their zeps. Sometimes I’m the mood for the old timey lunch counter feel of Lou’s(slightly diluted since they were forced to ban smoking) and sometimes I don’t feel like dealing with the main street headache. Either way. nice thick onions, tomatoes, salami, some oil and spices. and that huge Conshy roll. perfection. Thanks for continuing to exist. one point docked for cash only /atm

Something about waiting for french fries after you have paid and an employee sits down to eat a full plate of fresh fries. Quite annoyed

Just had the most pathetic steak sandwich, more like a bread sandwich from here. If you go here, best to get a zep and that’s about it. Go to pudges for a real steak sandwich if you want one. Oh and try smiling to your customers, it helps.

Norristown famous sandwich. named after the zeppelin. So famous they’ll soon serve Zeps at citizen bank park. So I had to try them, luckily my wife works in norristown and she introduced me to Eva’s. I tried«Eve’s Zep», onions, tomatoes, provolone, salami, pepper spread and a soft Italian roll. Just like an Italian hoagie except no lettuce. The tomato was fresh and a thick cut, the pepper spread was very strong and spicey. Wouldn’t mind coming back to try the other diffrent Zeps. Only complaint is it’s cash only, be prepared.

The medium turkey Zep was a monster! Bread was fresh and delicious, sandwich was stuffed and the staff was delightful.

Apparently, there’s a real Hatfield and Mccoy situation in Norristown between fans of Eve’s and fans of Lou’s. I visited Eve’s for the first time recently after having Lou’s take out numerous times. The zep was excellent and ill be back for it soon. I read other reviews before visiting and the thing that stood out was the comment about how the staff at eve’s was soooo much friendlier than the staff at Lou’s. I’ve never been to Lou’s(my mom’s always picked them up and brought them to my house) but if they are more rude than Eve’s, I don’t think I want to go there. The staff at Eve’s seemed indifferent to my presence. And there’s a very uncustomer friendly policy of cash only with some bullshit ATM there so you basically have to pay a $ 3 surcharge for your zep if you don’t have cash. So half-assed. Any way… great zep and pepper spread and ill be back for another, with cash of course. UPDATE: on my most recent visit, the woman at the counter was both friendly and polite and in a genuine way, not a «I read some reviews that said we’re rude so now I have to be nice» way. So good job! I hope it continues. Either way, I’ll be back. These Zeps are this fat kid’s dream come true.

This place is the best sandwich shop around bar none. I’ve been eating them since I was transferred to the Blue Bell Unisys almost 15 years ago. Yeah I know when it’s busy they tend to be quick with their replies but hey they are just trying to get the orders out. If you go after the rush they are the sweetest people. I agree as far as zeps go they have no competition. I love taking out of town guests for sandwiches. I pick up a couple of zeps and a tomato pie from around the corner. They have both never failed me…

Found myself in the area recently. using the Unilocal app, I realized that I happened to be only a mile from Eve’s at the time. A friend has often talked them up to me as a great sandwich place, so I went for it. Of course, being from Delco, I haven’t had many Zeps in my life. I have had one trip to Lou’s in my life, which I enjoyed. So I know what a Zep tastes like. I am not unfamiliar. Overall, I liked the friendliness of the staff who treated us well. I am more of a fan of the ambiance at Lou’s because I like that old counter look, but it was nice to see a clean open space like Eve’s has. The important part… these Zeps are tremendous. Loved the roll, perfect amount of meat and cheese, and I don’t often eat tomatoes but these were so fresh that I left them on there. Excellent sandwich all around. I loved the fries as I am a big fan of thick steak fries. The wife highly enjoyed her cheeseburger and onion rings. I do wish they had a few more things on their menu. Lou’s seems to offer more in general. But that can be a good thing or a bad thing. No question Eve’s is of high quality, and is as fine a purveyor of Zeps as there is out there.
