Strange experience here. This restaurant seems to have been here for a long time, but I can’t figure out how. Let’s start with the most obvious strange thing: no lobster roll or lobster sandwich on the menu. Next, there are cameras everywhere as if you are in a pawn shop. Two cameras pointing at your face and one overhead displayed behind the register as you order. How much could the register really have? This is a take out only type place. There are two itty bitty tables and 4 chairs along a dirty wall. There is a sign on the wall that says, «No eating.» I get that they want the food to be take away, but it’s so strange to have a no eating sign in a restaurant. No eating, but buy our food, but you’re gross and don’t eat it here. Next strange thing is that there are tchotchkes of a bygone era. Old theater posters, porcelain figurines, those cardboard stands that ask you to stick quarters in them for sick animals, plastic lobsters. Next strange thing is the lottery presence. Near the front door is the kiosk to fill out pick 5, win 6 guess 7 scantran; halfway back to the register is a supermarket style scratchers machine taller than me, and next to the dual security camera there is a flat screen monitor display your winning numbers! The menu is not to be held, but rather can be found under plexi glass at the register, taped to the wall when you first come in, or painted on the wall behind the counter. I don’t think the menu has changed much over the years because the online menu is pretty much what they were offering. Near the lottery kiosk thing is a candy vending machine for energy chocolate, $ 0.50 if you’re into that kind of thing. The food. I got fried #1 it was ok. The breading was the same on everything and I think everything was frozen at some point recently. The cooking area seemed very clean, but the food wasn’t healthy and to be honest I wish I didn’t eat that much fried food. I’m not sure which slice of the market Lobster Claw & Deli is commanding with the very excellent Roxborough Seafood House, Red Lobster in KOP, about five supermarkets and at least 3 sushi restaurants in the area, but I wish them the best!
