I asked fot egg and cheese. It came with some discusting processed cheese slapped on top of the eggs not mixed in. They were cold and congealed and it took forever to get them. Terrible experience. Cheese eggs are NOT hard to make.

The atmosphere and the food is better than most diners! My last time going I had a rude waitress who had an inappropriate remark… when I told the manager, he didn’t seem to care. Probably won’t go back for awhile, if at all. Overall, good quality of services for a diner.

I came in because of the extreme wait next door at Pep Boys, and me and my crush got lunch. The OMEGA has lunch specials that come with a soup(not including the French onion). I ordered a grilled chicken over a garden salad with the lentil soup. I wanted more soup it was that good. The salad came out as a chicken Cesar salad(by mistake) which was pretty good I must say for a diner salad. My crushes salad looked pretty stellar as she got the tuna salad over the garden salad. I would definitely recommend the salads here. However, they didn’t come around to refill the tiny water cups until after I was done eating. I did notice that many people ordered the matzo ball soup maybe next time.

I seek out the Omega Diner when I am on Route 1 in Jersey. There are a ton of places to go for lunch, but why go chain when you can go classic American Diner! They have everything you can think of on the menu, meatloaf, burgers, club sandwiches, but also have quite a few Greek items, such as the gyro i went with today!

I was a first time here yesterday when I attended a Breakfast meeting and Business Networking event. It was a nice networking and the food here is not the greatest and the price is just right. Overall, had a nice experience in this diner even though it was quite a drive for me.

I must say I stopped here because it was right off Rte 1. When I parked i checked Unilocal and saw it was only 3 stars after a decent amount of reviewers. I almost left but was too lazy. I’m glad I didn’t. Our server was great and the food was perfect. My friend got the pastrami sandwich which was great I snuck a piece, and my veggie omelet was perfect. I also highly recommend their rice pudding! Will be back!

This place use to be good but I don’t know what happen. The Alfredo on the pasta tasted really strange and just made me lose my appetite. I couldn’t even finish it and just left it there. It was a little pricey for the quality of the food. I regret eating here and I’m never coming back.

I come here every day for breakfast. The staff is fantastic, the omelettes are superior, and there are three television screens. I have noticed that the check seems to be a different amount every time, but that just adds hominess to the place. They take care of me early in the morning. I don’t have to say anything. I LOVETHISPLACE!

Great place for breakfast. My husband and I eat here all the time, however I’m considering trying another diner, as omega is beginning to be on the pricey side. They just recently changed their menu and I’m paying $ 10 more Han I normally pay for the same meal.

I ordered some to go food from Omega this past weekend. I got a sausage breakfast and my husband got a club sandwich, no tomato and a side of thousand island. When we got home, my breakfast had no sausage and my husband’s sandwich had tomato and no thousand island. No problem, people make mistakes. I called the diner to see if we could get something figured out, and asked to speak to the manager. Oh great, the manager says she’s the one that took my order. This woman proceeds to tell me that I did not ask for no tomato or a side of thousand island. I double check with my husband just to make sure that I hadn’t gone insane in the past half hour, and he assured me that he listened to me order what we had decided on ordering. I tell her again that I did in fact ask for these things. She continued to argue, saying that I hadn’t. I asked her if she would then be willing to send a refund for the sausage that was missing from my breakfast, and she said no. If I wanted anything, I would have to drive back to the diner myself and get it. Obviously, I was already home, angry, and didn’t feel like getting into an altercation with this woman in person over sausage. I declined. I’ve eaten at this diner before, and the food is mediocre at best. The customer service, however, is atrocious. There a million diners in Jersey with better food, and much, much nicer management. If you decide to go here, good luck. I hope for your sake no one in the restaurant makes a mistake.

Having dinner at Omega is often a crapshoot. But since my most recent was so exceptional, I decided to update the review I wrote 2 ½ years ago. Came here with the little guy, who was craving their matzoh ball soup. I ordered one of the dinner specials, which came with soup, salad, and dessert. I asked the server, who has waited on us a few times before, if I could pay to change the soup to a bowl instead of a cup. No prob. He was happy digging into those two gigantic, fluffy balls. I also gave him an adult-sized portion of my salad, and still had enough left to fill me up, even before my entrée came. And then he ordered an egg and fries, and lapped that up, too. The chicken dish I ordered had some of the most tender bird I’ve ever tasted. It came over what seemed like a pound of linguine, and it was light on the sauce, just the way I ordered it. Meaty fresh mushrooms rounded out the trio. I took enough of that home to have another whole meal. It tasted even better the next night. I also took home the rice pudding I chose for dessert. I’ve had it before and it’s always very good, but this time it was completely devoid of the cinnamon it usually has. It was easy enough to add, though. The wonderful waitress didn’t even charge for upsizing the soup, for which she was rewarded. I hope Omega can sustain the feel-good experience we had this time.

Several times we’ve ordered something for pick up, and they usually get it wrong and leave out items. The most recent time they forgot to give us one of our meals, we went all the way back to pick it up, and this time it was the wrong order(a simple bacon egg and cheese sandwich). Two incidents for one breakfast. In another recent visit, A Friend asked for no feta on her salad(because she was pregnant and under strict orders from her doctor not to eat cheese or else her baby could die) and she told the waiter this, and they STILL brought her a salad with Feta. The owner of this establishment is very sweet and hardworking but the same can not be said about the staff.

This diner is more of a 3.5 for me. The food is average, but their breakfast specials are a great value! They’re the typical specials you would expect, like scrambled eggs, omelette or pancakes and they include coffee or tea and juice. They also have interesting specials on the board in the front, but those do not include anything extra. It’s nice that they offer grits as an option on the side rather than home fries. I rarely come to this diner for lunch or dinner so I can’t speak to the quality or value. Service is average to below average. If you are looking for a true«Jersey Diner» this isn’t the spot, but if you’re looking for breakfast at a value check it out!

Every few years I find myself at the Omega Diner, often because we have a big party with individuals who cannot agree on a single cuisine for a meal. That’s fine, because Omega has a little of everything, and it very much the traditional diner in every sense… including the so-so experience that’s far too common at places that try to please everyone. My party of 7 showed up for a meal, each of us thinking breakfast for dinner would be a good idea(where else but a diner and I-Hop can you get breakfast for dinner? Not many). Several at the table were breaking the Yom Kippur fast, so break-fast seemed appropriate. Almost all of us ordered hash browns, and everyone with hash browns asked for them to be «extra crispy.» None of us got crispy hash browns and, when we pointed that out, the waitress said the kitchen was very busy and must have missed the request. I looked around and all we needed was a tumbleweed to roll past – the place was not busy. Oh well, that’s one of the many reasons ketchup is one of the world’s greatest inventions. My Florentine Omelette was rubbery and I found only one lump of feta cheese even though it was a simple eggs, spinach, and feta cheese item. I didn’t think feta = caviar. My wife ordered the veggie omelette which the menu said does not come with tomato – something she can’t eat – but there they were: chunks of tomato. Come on people, it’s eggs and a few ingredients – I can do this half-asleep in my pajamas. The one saving grace was the bread pudding. It was phenomenal. Custardy with just the right amount of sweetness. That pastry, as well as the good company that kept me laughing through the evening, saved this review from the dreaded one star.

I went here on a Saturday morning. This was another typical NJ diner. It was not that crowded, but the service was mediocre at best. Members of my party wanted additional coffee, but she never came with those cups. The food did come out in a timely matter though. I ordered the Florentine omelet($ 6.49). There was also a side of potatoes and I went with the wheat bread. The omelet was very dry and bland. There was a good amount of spinach and feta cheese in the omelet, but I just found it very plain and dry. The potatoes were good. I liked the peppers that were mixed in with the potatoes. Will I go back? I might.

Just a classic diner with a wonderful, never-ending menu! The food is average, but i do enjoy their lunch and dinner specials! They are worth it, but I usually share one with a friend and order another side dish because the portion is BIG! The service is quite decent! I’ve been here a few times with a friend, and I’ve also been here with large parties, in which we would dine in their private room. It’s very nice of them to accommodate with us. Generally, the service is attentive, friendly, and good.

I just left the Omega Diner from dinner with my family. There was so much wrong with this diner. Let me begin with the diner itself. It is freezing inside and every feels dirty and sticky. The restrooms were also in a state of uncleanness that is hard to describe. On to the food. The cheese steak was tasteless and had a consistency similar to rubber. The chicken parm was salty with a thick layer barely melted provolone cheese. The chicken fingers for my son were fine because they were flavorless. There was nothing that was positive about this experience and will not return.

I was a little annoyed that when ordering the full dinner(eggplant parmigiana) there were no vegetarian soups available. I was more annoyed that when I had asked«Are any of the soups vegetarian?»(the soup of the day was not listed) I was told«The matzoh ball soup» by our very, very young waiter. Me: «Um… but doesn’t that have chicken broth?»(yes, of course it does). I was slightly more annoyed that despite both of us ordering dinners and there being no vegetarian soups, we were not offered anything to replace it. I know it says«No substitutions, please» on the menu, but come on… not a single soup out of five could be made vegetarian(What is this, Texas in 1956?) and you can’t offer something for the two of us? Pickles? Cole slaw? A few fries? Steamed veggies? So, we started off disappointed, and then the salads came. Small, with not much in them. A little green lettuce, a couple of cherry tomatoes, and red onion. No Italian dressing left today(really?) but ranch that tasted nothing like ranch. Tasted more like corn syrup with mayo. At least it was on the side… a TON of it. Should have had oil and vinegar. So we were not having a good meal so far, obviously. Then the eggplant came. AMAZING! Delicious well prepared eggplant, not too much cheese. Great sauce. Baked to heavenly crunchy perfection, and served with al dente penne. The garlic bread/toast was good… not super, but better than most places. All in all much better than I’ve had at almost any«authentic» Italian restaurant. My slender dinner partner inhaled the whole thing, but I had enough to make a quite full lunch the next day. And that garlic bread put in the toaster the next day… yum! So that definitely salvaged the meal. But more to come. Dessert and coffee was included with the full dinner. Unbeknownst to me, bread pudding was a choice. WOW. Oh, my God. Despite being full and not being the type of bread pudding I’m used to, this was about the best non-sponge cake dessert I ever had. It was more like a bread-flan or bread-crème brulée. Soft and with a crunchy glazed top. Simple, unspiced, but amazing in its subtlety. Seriously, this was seriously good sh! t. I often hesitate going back to Omega despite it being near my house, but this dessert alone will keep me coming back. DONOTTAKETHISOFFYOURMENU. YOUNEEDTOHAVEIT24⁄7!!! I was going to keep this 3 stars based on my ongoing experiences at Omega, but thinking about that eggplant and bread pudding, I just have to give it 4 stars. I’ll be back… soon! If they can turn up the game on the salads and soups it will be five stars and I’ll be a regular customer.

Solid three stars, maybe 3 ¼. There are a bazillion diners in NJ, and many of them have the same stuff on the menu, and employ cooks rather than«chefs», so how do we diner-go’ers distinguish them? The décor at the Omega is certainly nicer than many. It’s bright, modern, and comfortable. Service is prompt and friendly.(Thank you, Jeremy.) My visit here was a business breakfast with a colleague on a recent winter morning. We were seated immediately and served promptly. Both of us ordered omelets. Portions here are generous, as we’d expect from an NJ diner. The omelets themselves were tasty, although I guess the eggs were cooked with no spices or salt/pepper, so they were kind of bland. But there was enough feta & spinach in my Florentine omelet to make it satisfying if not delicious. The hash browns were flavorful, but almost cold, so that didn’t win me over. The side order of bacon showed a generous serving of good quality bacon(not the cheap, thin stuff some diners serve). Coffee was fairly strong(as I like it) and kept coming with only minor prompting to our server. Prices are reasonable and about average for a NJ diner in central NJ. Nothing about this place would scare you away from coming here for business or with a friend or date. I imagine most people are stopping here along their way to or from some destination along the Rt1 corridor. With the decent food, and fast service, you’ll probably be satisfied with your decision to stop in.

Very mediocre diner. Everything is either standard or really bad. It’s been around forever, but I tried it once and that’s more than enough. Omega looks like a typical diner on the inside. Old-fashioned booths, a front-desk to pay at and music playing listlessly in the background. Our waitress was rude, and impatient the whole time she was serving us. I get that you don’t want to serve customers at 1am but we’re still customers, right? I didn’t like the overall feel of the place. The menu is typical: sandwiches, entrees and sides. I was surprised by the priciness. I’m used to diners being cheaper than normal sit-down restaurants, but Omega prices everything about the same. My food took a long time to come, even though there was only one other table in the diner and our orders were quite simple. The food is nothing special either. In fact, it didn’t taste like diner-restaurant food, but rather a quick lunch you would pack yourself for school or work. But worse. I was very disappointed with my sandwich. The ingredients weren’t fresh and the bread didn’t seem toasted. They seriously skimp on it too. Measly amount of cheese and 2 small slices of tomato. The food generally doesn’t have a taste, which is weird for late night food. I wouldn’t recommend Omega unless everything else is closed and you NEED a place to eat. But there are much better diners and late-night places within the vicinity with more reasonable prices and much better food. If anything, go to McDonalds.
