What do I say, Smash changed in into a Believer, Milkshake Believer that is. I come here for the caramel shake and stay for the burgers, true story. so far have tried the classic smash, spicy jalapeño baja and the truffle mushroom swiss. And must say there’s a reason folks go crazy over the «Truffle Mushroom Swiss», lets put it this way I don’t think I am going to eat any other burger at Smash anymore, Yuuup that good.
But that shake though god its orgasmically good (don’t add the whip-​cream though)

I’m gonna give it 3 stars because the food is decent. The grilled chicken sandwich is really good. I like the thin fries too. Just don’t go here to eat if you don’t have time to wait. They are extremely slow. If your on a lunch break from work your break will be over by the time you get your food… Sometimes before you even order!!! Otherwise it’s a good place to eat for «fast» food

I am in town on business, having driven down from Boston; staying at a nearby hotel, I wandered into the strip mall containing SmashBurgers — my first time ever eating at this chain. My expectations were ah, so-​so, having eaten at burger joints all over this country. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food, so much so that not only did I order takeout last night, but I returned tonight, getting different items each trip.
First off, signage was good; I’ve seen fast food places like this before: an order aisle where you pick up a menu & review it while waiting in line to order. Simple selection of burgers, some chicken sandwiches, salads & sides. The woman who took my order (same person both nights) was pleasant, articulate & efficient. Once the orders were taken, I never had to wait more than 5 – 6 minutes for it to arrive.
Now, onto the food: last night, I got the New Jersey burger, sweet potato fries & veggie frites. The burger was super juicy & tasty, with a bit of crunch from the fried onions. Much better than I expected. Fries were also good — not dry nor too spicy. And even the string beans & carrot slices were decent — bit oily, but I felt that added to the flavor.
Tonight I had the classic SmashBurger, a Cobb salad, plus the haystack onions. Loved those onions, crispy & full of flavor. Burger was good, but not as tasty as the Jersey one. Salad was better than expected — more than just salad greens, with a fried egg & good portion of real fried bacon. I ate every bit.
This place is definitely on my «must return to» list for future travels in NJ.

Gross here today with drink machines not cleaned. Actually something hanging from the tea dispensers…
Also, it’s ok for people off the street to walk through the dining area soliciting for money without employee intervention?

OK so traveling from DC back to New England we Unilocal for a affordable place to be I can across smash burger-​so we decided to give it a try boy are we surprised and very pleased with our lunch!!! Walking in the store you’re greeted with a friendly smile and a «welcome to smash Burger» welcome, I met Tina at the front register who is very friendly and gave me great suggestions! The food was cooked to order and delicious !!! even the kids portions very well done!
Although they don’t have one of these in New England where I am from –I would come back to this place — the variety along with the selection of food is appreciated! Especially after traveling!

Amazing! I had the New Jersey burger! With smash fries. It’s the best place in town. Loved every bite

I’d been to SmashBurger in East Brunswick one time, this was my second trip to the chain restaurant. I tried out North Brunswick’s location, and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. I just a plain cheese burger, and the burger was the greasiest thing ever. So gross I had to wipe it off with a napkin. I love burgers, so grease isn’t a problem, but this was ridiculous. The other two people in my party also agreed. Also, ordered a «Haagen Daaz Chocolate Milkshake». Well that’s not what we got; instead we received a milkshake with chocolate syrup (Milkshake fans out there KNOW the difference!) Yuuuuuuuuck. Not going back here again.

One of the Better Burger Joints. I usually get the Mushroom burger, Swiss, Fried Egg, Truffle sauce, and Sauteed Onions on an egg bun. Always Delicious. Oh so buttery, while some people think its oil grease. The staff is always extremely polite, and always check on you. TIP: Always keep your previous receipt for a free side! Very professional for a fast food joint, I was going to minus 1 because it is a fast food joint, but decided to keep the star because of their courteous behavior.

Food is excellent, love the idea of them bringing it and cleaning. Place would get five stars if they kept it cleaner, every time I have been in there it has been a mess. Other than that, this chain is picking up and this particular spot prepares its food pretty well.

This is a classic good burger, from a chain.
The burgers are a bit more greasy than five guys, but much better than a fast food chain. Go here when you need a burger fix, but aren’t looking for BK.

Glad we have another option to McDonald for a quick burger. I like the naughty «jersey». Blue cheese, bacon, and onions. mmm

Felt like a great burger and smashburger delivered. The meat was smashed thin, the smash fries were delicious, and ordering online was great for customization.

This is a so so place. The food is pricey for what they offer. You don’t have a choice with the temperature of your burger. Another thing their regular and big burgers are small. I ordered the «big» and got a burger the size of a McDouble burger.
Not really full after the burger so had to buy something else. Their fries are okay! But nothing here popped or was out of the ordinary. Actually everything was below average. We should have went to a real burger place. Now I never said it is bad. I just think for what they charge, offer, and the quality of food. We can find a better place to eat.
Their shakes are decent. Not great, but not bad.
The tables were not clean and I had to clean my own table. It’s 2:20pm on a Sunday and its a mess and barely any customers.
See for yourselves but my advice is we can all do better.

This Smashburger is at one end of the strip mall on southbound US-​1, just past the US-​130 interchange. I went there twice while staying in South Brunswick. I thought the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger was rather unique. The New Jersey Burger wasn’t as great but was still good. The one problem here seems to be that they are slow at bussing the tables, so while there is ample seating space even during the main dinner hours, you may have to stack and remove the baskets yourself. Also, I think prices are pretty high for what you’re getting.

I do love a good burger and Smashburger makes just that. This franchise is modeled much the same as the other «gourmet» burger chains. Their burger isn’t of the double patty variety, which is fashionable at the moment. It’s a larger thinner patty, but very moist and flavorful.
There are a variety of toppings to choose from, as one would expect from a modern burger chain. The menu is also very limited to basically burgers, chicken, and salads. Their grilled chicken sandwiches are excellent. It’s in the same formula as their burger, larger then the bun but thin. I do have to recommend the smash fries, they’re delicious. No ketchup or condiments needed.
If you’re a burger fan, I’d recommend stopping in and giving them a try.

I came to this specific smash burger before when they first opened, and the staff was amazing. But as for today this being my 2^nd time coming here I was hoping to get the same friendly greeting. For the young lady who took my order, she was the only one who seemed to have some kind of emotion and took care of me.
For those who are working in the back of the house seemed to be a little rude and upset with my order. I over heard 2 of the guys complain, «Yo, she had to order the whole damn menu.»
I mean, if you don’t want to make my food, then why are you working there?

I’ve been here twice and I’m sure I’ll come here again! I usually have a sweet or salty tooth but sometimes I have the Unami/​savory tooth for meat! I came here and I was not one but disappointed!
The first time I ordered the truffles mushroom burger with smash fries and the second time i got a bacon cheeseburger with regular fries! The meat of the burger was so juicy and tender! It seemed very fresh! And they claim that they cook each burger upon each order! Yum! The fries are thinly cut and crispy! The smash fries had some seasonings and scallions, which was very good, but I prefer the regular one because I like the ketchup with plain crispy fries!
Upon ordering, we get a numbered sign and the bring the food to us. Then another person comes by later to collect the sign and check on us! Good service!

Great burger. done just right. Perfect cheat day!

In the ever increasing world of burger chains, SmashBurger has entered the ring. I have been to many of the rest, but until now have I missed the best? Well, no not exactly. They serve up a decent burger, with a patty that is more on the thin side, as opposed to Zin Burger, Bobby’s Burger Palace, etc. The fries are also of the thin breed and reminded me of a better version of McDonald’s fries.
The staff is friendly, the food is made to order, and the restaurant is clean. The lack of stars come from the prices. Although the burger was good, I feel like you can get the same quality at Wendy’s for a fraction of the price. I also got the «Big Smash» burger with fries and didn’t exactly feel full after finishing. For nearly $ 10, there are many other burger chains that I would come back to before returning to Smash. I will go as far as saying, that this isn’t a bad place if you are trying to watch «how much» you eat. Otherwise, don’t expect a great bang for your buck.
