We stopped at Jax for the first time this morning for breakfast. It’s nothing to shout about, about 1 step up from Waffle House, just a little pricier. Please note that they don’t take cards at all, it’s cash only. There is an atm at Walgreens nearby if you forget your cash. My husband and I both had eggs with hash browns, bacon and fruit, with a side of pancakes. The food was mediocre at best, but not terrible, and the service was good so that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2. The only thing that threw me off was when I asked the server what ‘scrapple’ was on the menu and not only did she not know but told me it was probably something I would rather not know what it was. This made me uneasy so I decided not to try it. Turns out ‘scrapple’ is scraps of the pork they don’t use that’s blended together and filled with spices. Glad I didn’t get it. My advice if you want an awesome breakfast– spend the extra $ on gas and drive down to Bonita Springs, and go to a place called Skillets.(It’s about the same price to eat there) I’ve eaten breakfast all over the country and its still the best I’ve had. Jax is good if you want something cheap and local.

Best restaurant in town. I have lived in the Naples/Ft. Myers area for 20+ years, and I have yet to find a restaurant as good as Jax. The food is amazing, and the wait staff is phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to take a trip back in time.

This place ROCKS ! At 11 am on a Sunday, there was a line, but it was worth the short wait! Waitresses bustling around so fast — and smiling at the same time. Super service with a smile — that’s from the last century! Watching the cooks through the open window was a step back in time. I had Florentine Eggs, with spinach, bacon, feta cheese, and tomatoes topped with Hollandaise. My hubby had Huevos Rancheros(eggs between tortillas with refried beans, cheese, salsa, onions). Along with our breakfast, came a side! I had warm cinnamon apples(like dessert for breakfast), he had hash browns. All of it DELICIOUS! We will be back! They serve lunch, too– can’t wait to try that menu :-)

Second time here, breakfast last time, lunch this time. Pot roast as good as they claim, delicious Reuben sandwich.

We love it. Their fried chicken is fabulous with real mashed potatoes and gravy. Jax is our favorite place around to eat breakfast too.

Well I have revisited Jax. You still need to pay with cash, no plastic or other forms of imaginary currency. The staff is still top notched. Helpful and delightful. Food is home style, home made, in house… I had fried chicken, real mash potatoes and country gravy. But I must say I was not too thrilled with the biscuit this time. Not sure if it was me or the cook had a off day. Oh yes this is another place that makes it own sweet tea. It was great. So if in the market for good basic american food at a reasonable price drop on in and enjoy.

This place has made a complete turn arouned since they opened… Good job. Food improved 100%. Wait staff could use a little help; Bianca the only one seems to care about great customer service. Only thing drives me crazy and keeps me from coming back on a regular basis is the music. I get it, it’s a themed diner, but try mixing up the tunes and I will be there much more.

Waitress short changed me. After having a family crisis the waitress saw we were emotional and thought she could short change us. Having worked in fraud for the sheriff’s office and having studied magic she really wasn’t very slick. Older waitress probably taking advantage over people for years.

Great, fresh, reasonably priced food! Divine chocolate shakes I must also add. Cheerful atmosphere. Service could be improved, without a doubt. Watched my waitress being very chatty with a co-worker as my food — and others’ –sat waiting for pick up. Hubby and I have eaten the tuna melt sandwich, the Cuban sandwich, the Chicken Caesar wrap, the French fries are DELISH and the aforementioned chocolate shakes. Must stop by here for a quick, real bite to eat. Food worth every penny– service is 3-star. It’s hard to find a down-to-Earth place in the touristy Fort Myers area, but this is it! And as someone in another review mentioned, avoid Stacy as your server if possible.

Extra special breakfast /lunch place! Food goes beyond the normal bacon n eggs. Example; Breakfast Scramble — 2 eggs, spinach, bacon, tomatoes, Havarti cheese on tip of a grilled croissant topped with Jax homemade hollandaise sauce. OMG is that good! AND they have scrapple! Décor is 50’s diner fresh style. Staff is friendly & fast. My new favorite place to eat.

This is a relatively new restaurant. But it’s a great step back in time. Everything from the décor to the service and music is near perfect! It’s very clean and inviting. The food is like homemade. The Pot Roast is excellent, it’s like mom used to make! Shared a piece of coconut crème pie with a friend. From the crust to the topping, it was homemade too!
