Swan Thai is a good find for us if you want to spend a quite evening. It doesn’t get crowded like Sanamluang but we like to come here and we like their food. It’s family owned and usually family style dining for us where we usually share the Tom Kha Ghai Soup(Coconut milk and Curry), Tangy Pork spareribs, Pork Kapao or Crispy pork, Panang Curry with beef, Pad Thai or sometimes Pad See Ew and occasionally the Spicy Catfish, the ground pork and roasted rice larb or the Crying tiger grilled marinated sliced beef and the marinated tender grilled pork in thai sauce. We’ve always been offered the Pork Hocks and the Hoy Jor Crab Cakes but someone in our party will always say no. There’s hardly ever a crowd just one or two tables aside from yours. I don’t want everybody to come here since it’s our hidden gem of a place.

Add Swan Thai to the list of delicious delivery food in my area. Friendly, fast delivery serving up some of the more appetizing Thai food I’ve had in a long time. There are a lot of authentic dishes worth trying here. I recommend the Duck Egg Ka Pao if your feeling adventurous. If your just looking for a great dish without all the guess work, you can’t go wrong with their Pad Thai. Is there anything better than a good fresh dish of chicken Pad Thai? I really don’t think so, you be the judge.

Stumbled in on this gem on a Saturday afternoon. You can’t beat the $ 6.95 lunch special. There are about 6 – 8 different options to choose from(teriyaki chicken, chicken and garlic, chicken pad thai, and cashew nut chicken to list a few… Also you can sub any of them out with shrimp for an additional $ 2) and they all come with a healthy/tasty, light soup and an egg roll. Portions are very plentiful as well. Oh and they also serve a delicious fruit infused water no extra charge… You won’t leave here hungry or dissatisfied.

Food had great flavor. Only disappointment was the fact when I received my food. The styrofoam bowl was crushed and my yellow curry ended up all over the bag, making it impossible to eat.

If I could give them no stars I would. Walked in with a bit of a hangover, so I wanted get rid of it with a spicy seafood soup. But I walked out with more of a hangover. Didn’t wanna charge 2 separate cards. What’s going on here??? I will never walk into this hell hole again!!!

I’d give them zero stars if I could, I found a hair on my food and they didn’t even want to give me a refund back. I didn’t really liked anything I ordered tbh just mad I wasted my money ! If your on the app ordering food stay away !

Pork was unrecognizable. Crab and cream cheese wontons were 100% cream cheese. Won’t be returning.

I highly recommend this place I personally think it’s the best one around here. It has a homemade taste and the price is perfect on the amount of food you get. not like other thai places they suck when it’s down to serving a good amount of food for the price that you paid and taste horrible. This place won’t let you down :)

I will give this place a higher or lower rating once I actually eat the food. But I did give it a good once-over to check it out. It seems to be family run — a Thai family that loves Thailand and has many pictures on the walls of the king and of colorful locations in Thailand. The dad(or grandfather) has a thick accent but the son(or grandson) sounds totally American — so this is not an FOB family — yet they still have grandma cooking in the kitchen — her old family recipes. The menu is extensive — maybe to extensive to focus on those few amazing dishes. But they do a lot of take-out and they also deliver(as far at the Red Line stop in North Hollywood). I will try the delivery soon — and then update this review.

Surprisingly this place isn’t as good as it used to be. I brought some friends from SF to visit and I was slightly disappointed. Giving a 3 star because of my loyalty. Maybe the cook had a bad day or off cook day. Usually they have good food. The Swam fish is usually killer but this last trip failed to impress. So did their papaya/mango and shrimp paste fried rice – did not impress during my last visit

YUM! All our food order was really tasty! From something as small as the egg rolls to the spicy seafood soup with some steam rice… YUM! DEFINITELY A KEEPER!

Sick in bed right now with the worst food poisoning I have ever had. The only thing I ate yesterday was the Papaya Salad with crab and crab fried wontons. The salad had no crab to be found, but crab scraps of shell. I should’ve taken that as a sign, but like i said, I hadn’t eaten all day. Sure enough– 4 am rolls around and I’m hugging the toilet for hours. I’m even considering a hospital visit because I’ve never had food poisoning this severe. I placed a call to the restaurant and told the receptionist that I truly didn’t care about getting my money back, I just don’t want anyone else to get sick. The woman got extremely defensive, said I was yelling at her, and called me a liar. I’ll never come here again and I hope this is a solid warning to others.

By far my favorite place to enjoy a well prepared and inexpensive Thai meal. The staff is always very welcoming and make you feel at home. They also deliver in the local area very fast and easy. Although the place is small the food has big taste. Anything from the menu will not disappoint you. It feels like you are at home and welcoming atmosphere. I go there quite often

I tried this place randomly yesterday since I was craving Thai food and it happened to be close by. It was nothing special, there are definitely way better Thai places around. The Thai iced tea was pretty bland, it didn’t taste as sweet as the Thai iced tea at other restaurants. I ordered chicken Pad Thai to go and they had my order ready in 2 minutes… literally. I was a little wary of this. It made me wonder if they just had the food sitting in the back and simply microwaved it and shoved it into a to-go box when I placed my order. The pad thai was also pretty bland. I had to add salt and lots of red chili sauce just to give it more flavor. I saw all the good reviews for this place, so I was surprised that the food I ordered was so bland. I do not recommend this place.

Terrible. I came here for lunch I’m new to the area. I ordered the bbq chicken lunch special. My chicken was cold. Literally. Like it had been refrigerated so I don’t even know how many days old it was. The fried rice and soup were the best parts of the meal and even then we’re only mediocre.

I’ve been living in LA county for about Two years and this has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a restaurant. First of all, I ordered the chicken satay lunch through 24 food. The lunch includes chicken satay and rice. after about 15 minutes the guy called me and said that there’s no rice with the chicken satay lunch. I told him that I order it with rice through the website. He said it’s expired and I can’t get and if i want it i have to pay extra 2.18 $ but I told him that I order it like this and I’m eligible for what I exactly ordered. He said do want to puy or not? and he was so rood. So I kinda hated the restaurant and I asked to cancel the order because I was pissed off by his attitude and costumer service. When I asked him if I’m getting my money back he said you have to contact the website. I then, thought I might never get the refund from them. So i decided to get the food without the rice with the price of the rice meal. He showed up 20 mint later and gave me the food. He said 2.18 please! i said why! he said the rice. I said i told you just bring it with no rice so he said fine give it to me! Second of all, I also ordered the Yellow Curry chicken. And it was literally The worst Yellow Curry chicken. It basically was a potato Curry with almost no chicken. I was digging and mixing the curry with my spoon to see the Chicken. and nothing was there. Run away from This Run

DONOTEATHERE. I don’t know what they do to their food… but I went here for the 2nd time and got the SAMERESULT. The runs next morning and I threw up as well, I am CONVINCED I get food poisoning from this place THEFOODISNOTFRESH. I had their Sweet n Sour Dish w/Pineapple… the steamed rice and pineapple were the ONLY things that tasted«normal». Everything else was questionable. I am never coming back here again I don’t give a damn if the owner offers a free meal. There are much better thai places in the same area as this one. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

My vegetarian green curry had literally zero veggies in it. Loaded with bamboo shoots and 2 slivers of carrot. It was way too creamy/pale from not having any curry paste in it. I ordered it «Thai hot» and it was mild at best. Milky bamboo-shoot soup. Very disappointing.

My favorite dish at Swan Thai is, by far, their ka prao with preserved duck egg. It’s savory and spicy and aromatic, with really fun contrasting textures, everything I love about Thai food in one dish. And it’s so hard to find something that’s that off the beaten path of Thai restaurants outside of Thai Town. Love it. And I love that Swan has an entrée size tom yum with noodles and fish and pork balls and ground pork – and it’s a great tom yum recipe, too. Good luck agreeing to share it. I also love that Swan offers som tum with raw blue or salt crab. There’s a little less crab, and the dressing is a little sweeter and not as funky as some others that offer it in the area, but it’s still better than most! Really easy online ordering(with free Thai tea or fried wontons if you order enough), quick delivery, and good packaging.

Swan, another in the constellation of Thai restaurants on or near Sherman Way south of the huge Wat Thai Buddhist Temple complex on Coldwater Canyon. It’s smaller in scale like Sri Siam which is even further south. It is definitely not a place for a large group gathering so there is only one waiter and another man who sits at a table who goes & does the deliveries. No alcohol is served which makes sense for a small, modest restaurant. I ordered the fried Chicken wings coated in panko/Japanese style breadcrumbs. The wing is stuffed with ground pork, glass noodles, finely chopped onions, cabbage, carrots accented by Nampla fish sauce, black pepper, garlic. This filling was way more meaty than most to create a satisfying appetizer. Accompanied by a viscous, thick sugar sauce inflected w/a bit of red chile, vinegar, & Nampla for a meatier Umami. For more piquancy in the sauce, add more powdered red chile or pureed chile sauce. This stuffed fried chicken wing was better than the one at Red Corner Asia which I thought was the best there was since the demise of Jaoka on Hollywood Blvd. Pad Thai ingredients were the standard Tagliatelle-like flat rice noodle, bean sprouts, green onions, bit of cilantro, generous amount of crushed roasted peanuts, slice of lime to add a gastrique to this rather sweet pasta dish. The taste difference at Swan was a greater addition of sweet, tart Tamarind paste which made for a fruiter, even jammier taste than most other Thai restaurants. To offset the sweetness, I got vinegar from the pickled serrano chile & sprinkled it on the Pad Thai as well as chopping the serrano chiles & mixing it into the pasta. Thai Acacia Curry is a more unusual dish not found on many Thai menus in LA. I chose the fish since the waiter mentioned the fish was Sole and not the dreaded farm raised Tilapia which to me is not only a trash fish, but also possibly full of antibiotics, & dioxin from the inferior feed. The sole was perfectly cooked so it came out moist, soft, flakey retaining a bit of ocean sweetness. The unusual ingredient in the egg omelet was ferny green leaves of the acacia which gave the overall dish a scent of a hint of perfumey sandal wood & dried, grassy hay. The tamarind red curry gave off a good dose of piquant chile derived heat. This curry seems to be for people w/adventurous tastes, and to me, it is an acquired taste. I tried it once, but that may be enough. Not truly bad, but nothing that I would want to eat again. The waiter noticing that I liked trying out unusual dishes asked me if I ever had tried Durian fruit. I have seen it at Southeast Asian markets looking like a spikey, brown colored football, but have never dared to eat this supposedly odoriferous fruit. It’s supposed to be so smelly that hotels having closed ventilation systems ban the eating of the fruit. The durian fruit turned out to be frozen & cooked with coconut milk. It still retained a faint scent of when natural gas from a range leaks out, but its wildness was tamed. The base of the dessert is like cooked Mochi/Japanese sweet sticky rice & drowned in a thick coconut milk sauce. A nice way to end the meal on a sweet note. Ordered Thai Ice Tea since it is full of condensed sweet milk & strong brewed brown Thai tea which is great in quenching the chile heat in between bites of the Acacia Curry. Service by the waiter was good, and the Thai food here is slightly better than average. 3+ Unilocal stars.

I’ve yet to find something on the menu that I haven’t enjoyed. The tangy spare ribs are my favorite appetizer thus far. We’ve had some of the soups on cold days and have been satisfied with the flavors and amount. The service has been quick as has the turnaround of food.

DONOTUSE A CREDITCARDONTHEIRWEBSITE I recently had two credit cards stolen, both were cards I hardly ever used because the site did not use a secure checkout https. This was 2 separate transactions with 2 separate credit cards. Sure enough, both cards had fraudulent activity weeks after the purchase. I’ll still eat here because they have the best Pad Thai around, but please fix your website!
