In response to a previous complaint to handles being installed by sight. We had a meeting at «Matt B.» or real name Oriel Shaked’s home with the contractors board this morning. The investigator pulled out his tape measure to realize that the complaint was completely wrong. The handles were EXACTLY straight. Ive had to answer to this complaint many times with current customers. We always use some type of way to measure or template customers handles. Its sad that websites like this have no way of debating what some customers may complain about especially when they somehow become contractors overnight. Anyone is welcome to challenge us anytime they feel the need to. But, I always cross my T’s and dot my I’s when it comes to my business. This has been my life for 10 years and I wont go down to some disgruntled customer who may have not liked me personally. Felt great to be vindicated this morning from these false accusations.

Josh Kiffe did a poor job with our doors. Yes, they open and close properly, but he installed the handles just by sight, so as a result, they’re crooked. Not terribly crooked, but you can see it with your eyes and definitely see it with a spirit level. I tried bringing this to his attention in a polite way and the response was «Ur on ur own»; «itll have to wait a while»; «why is it just being noticed now?»; «Were done here. If iget a free moment ill come by. Have a good night.»
You’re not supposed to install handles just by plain view; you’re supposed to use a template, and if that’s not available, you can use a level with tape and pencil to make your markings. I can’t believe that someone who does professional work would come to a job site without these basic tools.
Another thing I noticed is that the hinges he installed will allow the door to swing fully outward and, in some cases, hit the neighboring drywall. But dare I also request that he install hinges that only go out to a certain angle? I don’t know, maybe I’m «on my own» here as well. These two combined with his attitude towards a customer who paid him in full will make me never use American Cabinet Solutions again. Next time, I’ll purchase the doors on my own and install them myself properly.
