The first time I went to Jacky’s was a nice experience. I was excited about the 3 course $ 20 meal(Mon-Tue only). I went with about 6 other people and everyone was happy with their meals. The scorpion bowl was delicious and so were the desserts. I’ve gone 2 times after that, and I hate to say that the experience has not been the same. The quality of the food is not what you are paying for. I mostly order chicken. I have felt as though the chicken is bland and has a very raw taste to it. The food is also a bit pricey, to not be fully satisfied with your dish, and that is the reason I will not give it another try. The last time we went, our bill was about $ 70 and we both left disappointed and unsatisfied. I truly wish them the best. It’s a gorgeous restaurant, but we have given them 3 tries too many.

The atmosphere and décor are absolutely beautiful. IMO, completely wrong location for this restaurant — they have beautiful glass windows overlooking… wait for it… Mineral Spring Ave? Yea, I don’t know about that — maybe the better idea would’ve been to put those windows in the back of the restaurant overlooking a koi pond? Just my thoughts. Aside from all that, the experience was good. Good, quick and friendly service. Food was good but I’ve had versions that were better at a fraction of the cost. I understand that bc they boast as an upscale smaller version of the downtown Prov location, they can jack up the prices. We ordered 2 soups — wonton and seafood. Both were fine, wonton was a tad bit salty but I liked the thinner wrappers they use vs. the very thick ones Chinese restaurants use. My sister enjoyed her seafood egg drop soup very much — nice fresh flavor. Entrees, we ordered pineapple fried rice and crispy chicken wings. The fried rice is pretty much fried rice with bits of pineapple thrown in. I was expecting a bit of curry flavor — but this was the way they made it. The wings were good and crispy with a hint of heat. For a fraction of the cost — the one literally down the street will suffice anyone’s appetite. I’m not a sushi person but their sushi menu is quite expansive. I wouldn’t mind going back as it is beautiful inside with a private dining area that can accommodate a party of 6 – 8, but for regular dining options, I’d go elsewhere.

I mostly like this place because it’s pretty, and that definitely makes me want to return often.(being über materialistic here, but honest) I really like the atmosphere. It’s alive and trendy with a diverse crowd. The food is well, just fine. Not spectacular, but it will do! Wonton soup — acceptable. This is actually a good thing in my book, because there is nothing worse than bad wonton soup, which, can be found at many places I have learned. So, acceptable is close to good, just without any extra«oomph» Shrimp fried rice– this was my favorite dish. It was fresh and tasty. It could have used just a tiny bit of salt though. General Tso’s — This wasn’t your usual general tso’s, not the crispy fried version we all know, it was more like a boneless skinless chicken breast that sat in sauce. Different, but good. Scorpion bowl was just fine. I’d say this place is great for getting together with friends for a drink, where drinks are the main goal and food is second. I’ve yet to try the sushi, or the place across the street, but otherwise this isn’t much of a «foodie destination». More just a nice place to gather.

If I could a give zero star I would(More bc of manager) She not only visited the table between me once BUTTWICE to asked how was everything And my table ZERO. Visit.you would think a «upscale» restaurant manager would at least approach once or just to greet anything really But def not here… Maybe bc I was a different skin color …(don’t judge a book by its cover) To add service was horrible!!! My wife and I were greeted by the waiter with«hey»… Started of w/apps.my wife had their sushi which wasn’t so bad and I had a kitchen entrée which came out 15 min later Which was lukewarm… Def will not be going back EVER!!! I guess my skin color is not welcome there.

Had the Nime Chow, edamame and house Pad Thai. Everything was very good and the service was fast. I wasn’t able to eat everything. The Pad Thai portion was huge. I would definitely go back again.

Very nice Chinese/sushi restaurant. Sushi is beyond good and atmosphere is modern with lots of glass walls and rooms. When you enter this establishment there are fountains and a glass floor with fish under it just as you enter this place. Extremely clean with friendly help. Bar is impressive. Back to the sushi… They have a sushi bar and the sushi presentations are one of the best I have seen. There are two Jacky’s across from each other, be sure to go to the new large one. Large menu and prices can range from moderate to high. Oh… and the restroom is clean. I can only speak for the men’s room.

Great spot, wonderful food and it is a beautiful place inside. The staff was great and we had a big enough party for the crystal room which was great! It’s a must try for a foodie!

— most of the décor was beautiful, I really enjoyed the glass floor overlooking the flowing water with coy as well as the wine display, however I personally don’t think fake flowers/plants have any place in a «fancy» restaurant — the waitress got my order wrong twice but she was very nice and she said it was her first week so she gets a pass despite being a bit on the inattentive side(even though she only had two other occupied tables) — I ordered the duck breast entrée(which I already knew I would be disappointed by since they didn’t ask for the temperature.. never a good sign), the sauce was essentially the duck sauce you’d get at any chinese take out place and the duck itself was far more over cooked than any duck should ever be; dry and devoid of flavor — my god mother had ordered the peking duck appetizer which upon further inspection was actually just the rest of the duck from my duck breast.. . nothing like what actual peking duck is supposed to taste or look like — the highlight of my meal was the bowl of brown rice, cooked perfectly that came with my entrée — my god father’s walnut shrimp was a pleasantly huge portion but it also looked as though it came with an entire jar of mayonnaise

Have a reservation for Providence Restaurant Weeks, Got there and been told not part of the program. The guy who can’t even speak english seated and told us his boss owned 5 restaurants and the one that join the program is in downtown Providence. But with his attitude we decide to go find more welcome places.

Went here for a pre xmas celebration. Now I’m probabaly not the best person to review a chinese food place since I generally don’t eat it. I have to have a craving for it. This happens once every few months. Glad I came here. What a beautiful place. Very classy on the inside and decorated beautifully and tasteful for Christmas. They have a decent sized bar for alcohol and a sushi bar also. I was greeted and seated quickly. I had a meal special which is good only on Certain days of the week. Started off with spring rolls. They were crispy and fresh and stuffed with a lot of veggies. I had general tso chicken and it was fried but lightly and not greasy at all. Could have used a little more heat but I know now to ask for it spicy. The best part was the bomba dessert. It was peach and mango sorbet enrobed in white Chocolate with raspberry and chocolate drizzle. Wow. The only thing I wasn’t too thrilled about was the prices. I think it’s kind of pricey. Glasses of wine nine to ten dollars? It cost us about forty dollars each which seems a lot for what we had. But I would eat there again and not drink.

Good lord it’s gorgeous in here! Super, duper, über pretty. You feel like you’ve escaped to another world! Amazing for a date night without needing to travel far from home. I may need to try again on the sushi since what I ordered didn’t wow me. The spring rolls and crab rangoon were delicious, though. The shrimp pad thai was also pretty awesome and priced reasonably. There is a fixed price deal on Monday and Tuesday nights that I’ll be trying. Many things on the menu looked interesting, so definitely going back for another go at it. Another note: the valet guys in the parking lot are some of the nicest I have ever met — I mean, ever!

This is the more upscale version of Galaxie on the same road(Mineral Spring). The décor and prices reflect this. The first two stars are for ambiance and service. The third star is for part of the food. And I’ll explain why. The first few times my family and I went, the food was impeccable. It came to the point where we were ordering our usuals — nim chow, seafood egg drop soup, pad thai(variety) and chinese eggplant in garlic sauce. Each dish was truly fresh and delicious. The first two are still up to par. The last two times, pad thai’s noodles were overcooked and the meat was mostly fatty pork and chicken — there were maybe 2 or 3 shrimps. The chinese eggplant, which used to be my absolute favorite, was at first cooked with a perfect crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. For some reason, the past two times, the eggplant has been downright mushy. Not appetizing at all. We even tried to change things up — we ordered the watercress along with the clams with blackbean sauce. The watercress was chewy and tough, as if it were old. The clams were extremely salty and tough as well — we thought that maybe the salt was concentrated on one area, but that was not the case. We are not the type of people to send something back, but I wish we had. I don’t think we will be returning any time soon.

Really lovely space. The inside and outside is very attractive and well set up. We went for an early dinner so the place was pretty empty, I imagine it gets pretty packed at night. We ordered a few tempura appetizers that were pretty good if not typically prepared. The sushi was very good. The Mr. Mango roll was very tasty and fresh. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, coming to check on us many times during the meal. We will be coming back for more yummy sushi, definitely!

Big funky cool space. Food is presented superbly and excellent quality! Perfect for an adult dining experience.(Please!, leave kids home — or go to Chucky Cheese*…). Live music at night. Pricey — worth it Food Sushi — great! Wings — awesome!!! Dumplings — OK w/sesame dipping sauce *not a fan of this new«trend» of bring infants/toddlers into restaurants in the evening! A+ on that Jacky!

This is a beautiful building with a swanky interior. A friend and I decided to try it for dinner at 630pm on Friday night. After standing at the hostess station for 7 minutes before having to ask someone if we could have a table for dinner, the 4 women behind the counter appeared to have very little idea where a table might be open. The hostess then asked us if we had reservations, which we did not. She then grunted a less than excited«oh» and continued ignoring us while trying to figure out what to do with us. She then handed another hostess two menus and she just walked away without saying anything to us then started waving at us from the ramp upstairs to follow her. We ended up sitting at the upstairs bar, with a bar tender who seemed like she wanted to be there just about as much as the pack of hostesses. After ordering a smaller then average martini($ 14 holy crap) she took our food order then basically ignored us the remainder of the night until she brought the bill. The food was ok, same as all the other Jackie’s galaxies in RI, however portion size and menu selection were much smaller then the other locations. If you’re trying to take a girl out to impress her at a swanky place, this may be a good choice. But as far as atmosphere and service go, this place is a real bust. I do not recommend it

This is a HUGE step up from the old, tired Jacky’s location on Mineral Spring! The building itself is beautiful without being too gaudy, and the atmosphere combined with excellent service and delicious sushi makes for a great evening. The night started off a little slow, but we had already anticipated that since it was the grand opening night. We ended up with a really awesome, friendly waitress that had already worked at another Jacky’s so she was very on top of things and really knew the menu well. There were so many delicious cocktails that it was hard to choose what we wanted. My boyfriend and I shared the scorpion bowl — a classic, and our friends got some fruity martinis. The watermelon martini was a bit too sweet for my taste, but my friend really liked it and it was very sneaky with the booze behind the«jolly rancher» taste. Another friend got the pomegranate martini, which was a nice balance of sweet and strong. I saw a few different lychee drinks on the menu that I will have to try next time! Apps were just as great. The yellowtail jalapeño is definitely the best I’ve ever had. The spicy sauce is just as amazing as Waterplace, but the fish cuts were thick, juicy and so, so tender. My boyfriend wanted to try the tempura, so we ordered the sweet potato which was perfectly fried and delicious. Our friends ordered the beef teriyaki, which were tender, juicy and well seasoned. They also got an order of the honey BBQ boneless spare ribs, which were delicious beyond our expectations. The pork added to the tender and juicy theme of the evening, and the sauce was fantastic with nice hints of both sweet and savory. When entrees arrived we were just as pleased. My friend got the teriyaki salmon, which was a very generous portion served with rice and fresh vegetables, and topped with a delicious teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. The rest of us shared an avocado roll, a torpedo roll, a Godzilla roll, and a rock n’ roll, all of which were well put together and made with delicious, fresh cuts of fish. They were all so good that I couldn’t pick a favorite! We didn’t think we had room for dessert, but they sounded so good that we had to go for it. Our waitress suggested the«exotic bomba» which is three different sorbets covered in a white chocolate shell. It was amazing; no other words to describe it. I was also thrilled to have a safe dessert for my boyfriend that can’t have cow’s milk! My friends shared a cheesecake topped with caramel and raspberry sauce and loved it as well. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but the prices are fairly reasonable as long as you don’t go overboard(like we did)! They also have a $ 20 dinner special on Monday and Tuesday, and a special lunch menu that is extremely reasonable. Can’t wait to go back!
