It’s just so good. My husband and I went on a Saturday, around 830. The atmosphere is very lovely! We were greeted right away and got a table!(I think if you want to eat earlier a reservation is recommended!) Our waitress was very friendly and took wonderful care of us! We ordered a bottle of wine and they gave us bread with a very good chimichurri sauce! We started off with the wedge and beet salad, can’t go wrong! My husband got the ribeye and I got the fillet. We ate every bite! It was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor! We can’t wait to come back!

The staff was friendly and very helpful without being fake. I had the Bifi Con Gorgonzola and it was amazing! It was cooked perfectly! And unlike many better restaurants, the portion was generous. The asparagus wrapped in prosciutto was something I’d eat as a main course it was so good. The mashed potatoes which came with the meal gave it great balance without overwhelming! I don’t remember a better experience at a restaurant in recent years.

Amazing!!! This was our second time and by far this is the best steak we have had in this area, nothing compares at all. The food was outstanding the waitstaff incredibly friendly you couldn’t ask for more. Such a hidden gem we love it and can’t wait for our next visit!!!

I had a wonderful outdoor anniversary dinner here. We ordered steak, salmon, and a dessert and everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. I took off a star because the service was good but nothing special, and because the food is probably over-priced. But, for a special occasion I would definitely return.

There were three of us and we are ‘foodies’. We came because we read the review in the Manchester Times. we are always very critical of the noise level and for such a large open area, we were pleasantly surprised. We loved the food and the whole dining experience.

Went here last night with my fiancé and another couple. I want to stress that both my friend and I are vegetarians. So we NEVER eat out at steak houses! I lived in Northampton for 33 years and never even considered eating here because I wrongly assumed that this place was like all the rest. I was happily surprised to see the menu offered SEVERAL vegetarian options. Everything we ate was delicious. The service was good. And as an added bonus there was someone playing live music in the background as we ate. I highly recommend to both meat lovers and veggie eaters!

Have been here a few times and had wonderful meals. Disappointed in sirloin with Gorgonzola topping the other night. A $ 29.00 steak should not be tough with grizzle. Great atmosphere but lackluster service. Asparagus with prosciutto was great as was ravioli appetizer.

Came here while in town for a college golf tournament as it was recommended to us. The filet mignon was delicious and cooked to perfection! Others in my group got the pork chop and really enjoyed it, but weren’t crazy about the mashed sweet potatoes. Service was great, friendly and attentive! Overall a great experience!

My wife and I went for our first dinner date in… a while… and we had a lovely experience. The service was excellent and friendly and the chef was very accommodating to my wife’s food allergies. The atmosphere is cozy inside but we sat outdoors and it was very nice, though the parking garage lights next door did glare a little bit. Regarding the meal, I had a chicken breast with Parmesan and garlic sauce. It was fabulous. The blend of flavored was excellent and the sauce was thick and creamy. My wife had an 18oz steak with prosciutto wrapped asparagus. Also delicious, though the steak was very slightly overdone. Not a problem-just a hair past the medium rare she ordered. Would we go again? You betcha.

Went here for anniversary. Waited for 10 minutes to be sat at a half empty restaurant. Ordered food: two apps and two entrees. Took 20 mins for apps to come. The sausage was flavorful but DRY. The sweetbreads were too damn salty! Spoiled the dish. Couldn’t taste the sweetbreads themselves because of the salt and char from the grill– this is certainly not the«Argentinean way». It was a shame to see sweetbreads mistreated like that. Waited another 30 mins for entrees, as restaurant cleared out. They arrived-one dish had a long piece of hair in it, sticking out like a sore thumb. Sent it back, took another twenty to come out. The other dish was an 18oz steak. So much salt on this I would not feed it to my dog. Ordered medium rare, came rare. Didn’t even match the temp descriptions on their menu! Wife and I couldn’t have dinner together. Had a Malbec and a rose, both were fine. Waitress was great. Was still charged for salmon. That’s not how you make up for hairy salmon and a spoiled dinner experience. Learn from your mistakes.

Best steak in the area, easily in our top 5 and that’s coming from a couple that lives outside of Boston. We had the maize empanadas and the provoleta appetizers — both were delicious, especially the provoleta. For dinner, I had the filet with mostaza sauce — it was to die for! It was cooked perfectly as was the three other dinners ordered that night. For dessert, my husband had the chocolate mousse and I had the crepes. Each reasonably priced given the generous portions. We have come here a couple of times and have always had a wonderful experience. The outdoor seating during the summer is definitely a plus!

My favorite thing to do while eating at Caminitos is watch all the people walk in from the street hoping to eat, and then be denied because they don’t have a reservation. Don’t even try to eat here without one. I have eaten here like three times throughout the years with usually no complaints, and left satisfied. The beef is the way to go, don’t be adventurous and try the damn gnocchi like I did, because you’ll be staring at everyone else’s plates, as they enjoy each orgasmic bite of perfectly cooked steak. The moaning at the table made it sound like a porn movie was being filmed on the premise. The steak is always cooked right the way you want it. It’s seasoned and has a unique smoked flavor you won’t find anywhere around. I ordered the meat empanadas for an appetizer, and found them to be extremely dry. The gnocchi was very good, with a rich white cheese sauce over a surprising layer of marinara sauce. Everyone in the party of seven raved and enjoyed their meals. I asked and was told the desserts are homemade. The interior is small and intimate, and might get cramped with a full house. They have a patio, that although was closed, would be great to dine out on when the weather is better. Service was efficient, polite, and engaging. However, I have two complaints. 1. The authenticity of the menu. 2. The prices. The most«Argentinian» thing you’ll find on the menu is the chimmichuri sauce. The menu is described as innovative Argentinian food, which basically means fusion. The prices, be prepared to drop some coin at this place. 9oz filet will run $ 28. Overall, it’s a nice place for a night out.

This is my go to place for steak in Northampton. I particularly enjoy the perfectly prepared skirt steak with sweet potatoes and fresh vegetables. It’s consistently juicy and toothsome. Plus on Sunday its ½ price wine night. Got a great bottle of Catena Vista Flores Malbec last night for $ 17. I don’t see where the less than positive reviews come from. It’s a pleasure every time I go.

The best meal I have had… Maybe ever. I went on a Friday night with reservations. Wonderful small restaurant with not many tables. Great subtle live music. But the highlight– the food. So flavorful with amazing presentation. Cannot wait to go back.

On the weekend of my college graduation, my family decided to take my sister and me out to dinner at Caminito for«Argentinean» steak. My sister had already been to Argentina, we had all previously tried Argentinean steak, and we were all from a Latin background. Maybe our hopes were too high. Perhaps we figured that anything that was as pricey as «El Caminito» would be nothing short of amazing. Yeah, wrong. Argentinean steak is best with its signature chimichurri sauce. My dad and my aunt asked for this sauce and the waitress that was serving us said: «uhhh, what are you saying?» You call yourself an Argentinean steakhouse? Okay… The meat was good — well cooked, good consistency. Was it worth all the money we paid for it? Absolutely not. I have paid ¼ of the price in an authentic Argentinean restaurant in New York. If I’m ever in Northampton, I’m not sure I would make the effort to actually spend all that money on a steak. If you’re really looking for Argentinean, drive out to NYC or Boston.

We have nothing but good things to say about Caminito, and were a bit surprised at the low ratings posted by other users. We have been going there for dinner/special occasions for the past 3 years or so and have never had a bad experience. First, we have found it is always best to make a reservation, especially on the weekends. During the week we have stopped in on a whim and have gotten a table very easily, but the restaurant holds maybe 50 people at the most all at once – it really makes for a great cozy atmosphere which is part of what we love. That being said, we saw diners that did not have reservations made get turned away due to the fact that the restaurant was booked during peak dinner hours. When it comes to service, I can only remember being impatient once in the years we have been going there(and it was waiting for the bill). Our most recent visit found a very friendly host who seated us right away, and a waitress we have had a few times who was also very friendly and on top of her service. She didn’t come over every 5 minutes(which we hate), but she checked in often enough that if we needed something or had a question it was addressed quickly and efficiently. There is also a classical guitarist after 7pm on weekend who helps create a great mood without playing too loudly to disrupt conversation. And now, the food… Amazing is just not enough of a word to describe the food from Caminito. Between the wood-fire grill, fresh ingredients, and simple yet seemingly complex flavor combinations, you never want to stop eating even after you’ve reached your limit of food intake. To start you get warm, soft, pull apart bread with a fresh and spicy chimmichuri sauce. This also pairs well with the Provoleta, a ramekin of grilled provolone cheese drizzled with olive oil and finely diced tomatoes. But the real star of the appetizers is the lobster ravioli… we have had lobster ravioli at other places but this is seriously THE best we have ever had. The rosemary browned butter gives it a slightly smokey flavor which can only be described as heavenly(I would have posted pictures, but our party dove into them before they even hit the table!). Other appetizers we have tried that you won’t be disappointed with are the esparrago con prosciutto, chorizo, and empanadas de carne. We have yet to try the others as often the lobster ravioli takes over our decision-making. Salads are fresh with tasty ingredients. We’ve tried them all, most recently the«wedge» along with the spinach, pear, and beet salad. The homemade dressings are great(especially the buttery-tasting walnut vinaigrette!), and we often get the salads to share. The caesar salad is large enough to share between 2 – 3 people as an appetizer or your entire meal! For entrees, anything from the grill is worth it. Our most recent visit included the bife con gorgonzola and the lomo a la mostaza. Both pieces of meat were cooked exactly how they were ordered, and the flavors from the gorgonzola butter and mustard crème were simply sublime. If you are looking for something other than beef, the salmon a la naranga is a lighter choice with bright flavors and a crisp skin with simple salt and pepper seasoning. Other great entrees we’ve tried include the beef«el gaucho», costilla de puerco, pechuguitas al champignon, milanesa caminito, crepes de espinacha, and noqui. I’m sure that anything else is fantastic, we just haven’t tried them yet. As for dessert, highly recommended are the panqueques and mousse – both are great ways to end the meal with a little bit of sweet. Definitely recommended to anyone willing to try some amazing food – and the sangria is a must!
