Chinese in Northbrook/Glenview can be a hit or miss. This place is a HIT! Good tasting food, great portions for the price and FASTFASTFAST delivery! We have made this out go to Chinese restaurant!

Given the substantial decline of our usual Chinese takeout place, decided to try out Yee’s Garden after getting a menu in the mail. It’s still pretty typical of most any Chinese takeout restaurant. Placed an order, was told it would be ready in 15 minutes(brief aside: does any Chinese takeout place ever quote a time other than 15 minutes?), and walked on over to pick it up(yes, it’s nearby). First, it was nice that my order was actually ready in 15 minutes. Other Chinese places nearby seemed to lack understanding of how long 15 minutes actually was. Food for the most part was good. I had some orange chicken(non-spicy so the whole family can share… I’m the only spicy fan of the house) — and it was really pretty tasty. Wasn’t cloyingly sweet — the orange was there, but not overpowering. I could have gone for the spice though. Jumbo shrimp fried rice was good, didn’t taste oily or anything. Crab Rangoon looked large because of how they were fried, they were ok but nothing spectacular. The only gripe I would have was that the egg rolls were lackluster. Drowning them in a packet of mustard was essential to enjoying that. Since it’s still convenient, we’ll be ordering here again.

I really like this place and they are always polite and nice. After looking at reviews I saw the Christmas eve and christmas reviews. Chill and enjoy. if you cant celebrate christmas then chill. sick of this. dont be so critical’

Now getting close to two hours of waiting past the time our carryout order was supposed to be ready. Understandable that it’s busy in Northbrook on Christmas, but they should have been better prepared.

Lived in NBK for 15 years and recently found this gem!!! Everything, and I’ve tried many things, was fresh, hot, exceeded my expectation! Hard to find good Chinese food in the burbs, I highly recommend.

When Moy’s became Yee’s Garden, I was worried that we wouldn’t have a good carryout place anymore… Wrong. Yee’s Garden is even better. Large menu, large portions, fast pickup. No MSG, no overcooked limp vegetable, everything crispy, tasty and ready on time. Glad it’s here, welcome to the neighborhood.

The food here was just ok. We ordered orange chicken and mongolian beef. Both were nothing to write home about.

I should have listened to the«run-of-the-mill» review. This was the worst, lowest quality Chinese food I’ve had in years. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog, I have too much respect for her.

I’m giving this restaurant one star because zero isn’t an option. This was the first time and the last time that we try this restaurant. We recently moved to the area and based on the favorable Unilocal reviews decided to give this place a try. I placed an order for delivery and was told it would be there within one hour. Placing the order was extremely difficult due to the language barrier and I had to repeat it several times. After one hour and 20 minutes without any food, I called to find out the delivery status and was told they had overlooked it and not prepared the order. I was then told the food would be here in 15 minutes and after calling again 20 minutes later, the food finally arrived almost 2 hours after the initial order. Then when I took it out of the bag, we realized there was no cashew chicken, which was one of the two entrées that we had ordered. I called the restaurant back immediately to complain and was told they would bring it right over as we only live five minutes away. However, 20 minutes later we were done eating and it wasn’t here so I finally called up and told them I was coming in to get a refund. The food was average at best and certainly not waiting worth waiting 2 hours. This place is a disaster!!! I’m certain there are better alternatives in the area and will never be ordering from Yee’s again!

Pretty run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout for this area. So far, have only ordered twice. But I’ll be going back due to being just down the street. I’ll be trying more dishes every time I order from them. Highlights: Portions — very good. Sweet and sour pork — no tiny/fatty/gristly overlooked pieces of pork that you often find everywhere else. Beef chow mein with pan fried Cantonese noodles — hard to find this dish, surprisingly. Noodles could be pan fried more though. Nobody has been able to live up to what Chung’s in Deerbrook made all those years ago. I miss that place. Chicken almond ding — if you mess this up, move to Mars. Misses: Walnut shrimp — too bad. Love this dish from Classic China and Szechwan Kingdom. You could taste/feel the corn starch in the mayo/honey sauce. Crab rangoons — an off taste. Not spoiled or anything but seasoning needs to be tweaked. Egg rolls — not a miss, but nothing to write home about. Miss the huge ones from Golden Crown.

Got the Mongolian beef and wonton soup. I was pleasantly surprised. The beef was higher quality than the usual Chinese place and the wonton soup was the best that I’ve had in a while!

Solid, tasty, and reliable unpretentious standard Chinese takeout — but it will indeed scratch the itch and do the job. Overall a B+, but given the deplorable state of Chinese food in the Northbrook-Deerfield area where everything is a B– to a C-, it makes this little storefront place stand out from the herd a bit.

I give it an OK. I really don’t want to dog this place out, I only ate here once. The sweet and sour shrimp was over battered but large pieces. And the sauces are pretty much routine Chinese carry out you get everywhere else. Give the place a try and judge for yourself.

The restaurant, formerly known as Moy’s, is redecorated and has the same excellent food. The Wonton soup and Kung Pao chicken are fantastic! Service is great. Carryout orders are ready in 15 minutes(unless they get really busy), and they deliver too! Highly recommended. One of the best Chinese take outs on the North Shore!

Great new Chinese spot in northbrook! Delicious Mongolian beef, egg rolls and chicken dishes! All of these are far superior in quality to local chinese restaurants nearby and their prices are unbeatable!
