Rita’s Italian Ice

Service is incredibly slow here. This was my first time ever to a Rita’s and I ordered a vanilla ice cream/​custard. The girl took 5 minutes to get it AND she got my order wrong… she gave me vanilla and chocolate. I didn’t bother saying anything, but still??? There’s nothing else I can say about this establishment. I mean it’s an ordinary shaved ice, custard place, nothing too special. They could work a little faster in my opinion, but other than that the place is alright. It’s right near a pizzeria so people like to walk over and grab dessert before going home. They have a pretty decent sized parking lot which is nice and they have a cement ledge where people could sit and chat while having their dessert.

So disappointed with the hospitality of Rita’s this afternoon. I took my kids there after school and my son wanted an ice cream sandwich from picture display they show above the order windows. Well, the cashier informed us we can only have a four pack. I went ahead and ordered that since he wanted one along with the rest of my order. My son took one bite and spit it out. We return to the window and asked the cashier if we can replace the icecream sandwiches with one lesser priced item since he will not be eating the rest. She got pissy and called her manager. After waiting some time, she reemerged and took the package of sandwiches and told us we can only order one waterice. Well my son wanted a blendini. She said that wasn’t happening! I should have gotten her name. She explained that her manger said the remaining items cannot be resold! Completely not the point! Where is RITA’s hospitality!!! That incident made me not want to return ever! I had to pay full price for a blendini! Can’t believe you treat your costomers like this!!!

This is my Ritas and it is goooooood. I am a huge fan. It is a great convenient location that you can stop at either heading to your vacation or heading home (or vice versa for me.) They have good stuff, stop by and support a good local business.

— Just like all Ritas, they have Italian Water Ice, Misto shakes and Gelatos. Its simple, its what they do and they do it well.
— The staff is always polite and fast and smiling which is a great bonus.
«The Meh»
— This location also has pretzels on occasion but they are just ok…
— This Rita”s is seasonal.
«The Bad»
— The parking lot is funky and an afterthought that was carved out of a larger parking lot. Soooo, that means that you can get in easily if you are heading off of the island. If you are headed towards Margate though you will need to make an illegal left turn which is the most annoying thing ever that folks have not figured out how to get here. The parking lot does have a «back door» and you can easily make it there by going a little out of your way but making some turns…
