Miserable employee vibe. Worse, older man behind counter made my burrito with his bare hands. Gross. I was too intimidated by mean cashier to complain so I silently accepted my bag of food and threw it out as soon as I got home. Just. Really. Gross.

Thanks, Sierra, for feeding my family when I just don’t have it in me to cook or deal with the other Mexican(Southwestern? Tex Mex? Who cares?!) restaurants in the neighborhood. Food here obviously isn’t the«real deal»(eye roll) but take-out from Rio is a hassle, Rincon is just too spicy for my kids and the line at Chipolte is always so long. I can be in and out of Sierra Grille in less than 10 minutes with a dinner that makes everyone happy. And who cares where the employees are from? They are friendly and efficient. I agree that the dishes can be a little bland, but that’s where the salsa bar comes in. I actually don’t mind having the option of adding my own distinct flavor and amount of heat. The pineapple salsa is totally a hit with the little ones! What’s more important to me is that the meats are well cooked and relatively lean, the veggies seem fresh, the restaurant itself is well-maintained and take-out is a breeze. As far as grabbing fast-food goes, I’d much rather bring home some tacos and platters from Sierra than a pizza or bag of burgers and fries.

Friendly staff and a clean place don’t make up for the watered-down, uninspiring food. About the furthest thing from authentic Mexican food. Which isn’t itself a sin, but it had better at least be good! This was just… bland. Boring. Barely tolerable. I took it as a bad sign that their special of the day was a steak and Gorgonzola(?!) burrito. And their spicy sauce is very, very vinegary and tangy. It’s basically Frank’s Red Hot with a little extra spice. Seriously, we are talking buffalo wing sauce here. Very strange. And the tortilla chips are the type that you buy in a bag at the grocery store. Very inauthentic and mainstream, they were like Tostitos or some other crap. Maybe they are forced to cater to the Darien yuppie folks? At any rate go little bit further up the street to Rincon Taqueria. Or even Chipotle would be better.

I would save your money and just go to Chipotle. Or if you’re looking for something authentic, perhaps Rincon Tacqueria. Sierra Grille is overpriced and not that great food-wise. Yes, it comes with a salsa bar which is pretty cool but the tortilla chips aren’t even salty enough. Would not recommend.

I prefer their burritos over Chipotle… I just wish their chips weren’t so hit or miss. Tons of salt and often stale… But it’s free, so I guess I can’t complain too much.

Good, quality food for semi-fast food. Very fresh. Friendly staff. We get the chicken platter, Mexican pizza, and veggie burrito w/chicken. They have a nice salsa bar & good chips. A solid value.

This place is terrible! The food has no flavor at all. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to chipotle! The whole staff looks like illegal immigrants from God knows where. The IRS should check this place out to make sure there paperwork is in order.

Recently went after a decade of not going. I forgot this place even existed, but I’m glad I went. I got the steak and pepper sandwich and enjoyed it very much. For fast food Mexican I’d go again. Their pineapple salsa is good on anything too.

Very fresh ingredients! Servers were friendly and our food was prepared quickly. Chips are good and salsa bar was decent. Also it’s very clean. Outdoor area was very nice too. Three dinners for $ 34 not bad.

I’ve been spoiled after living in CA for several years. So upon my return to lovely CT… I will seriously think again before dining at any Mexican restaurant(in the entire Northeast). And this is after giving Sierra Grille, not one, not two, but three tries. Extremely over-priced. Really… how much do tortillas, rice, beans, salsa, and stale chips truly cost(mind you, a take-out joint)? And believe me… no ambiance whatsoever. Felt like I was on-line at a cafeteria. That’s all cool in poor Mexican villages … but Fairfield County, CT??? On my last(yes, last EVER) visit(unless they are smart enough to comp me a free burrito), I ordered a simple bean and cheese burrito… oh with lettuce & a dallop of sour cream. The burrito cost $ 8+. I asked why so much & the extremely rude lady behind the cash register said bc of the lettuce(all of roughly 10 shreds) and sour cream(maybe a teaspoon amount). Plus tax. Seriously??? And you expect me to return after such horrible customer service, overall experience, and lackluster food. We’re not talking farm-to-table, fresh, organic … this is ‘supposedly’ affordable Mexican. I’ve had better in effing Amsterdam(& wasn’t smoking anything at the time)! All visits were on par with Taco Bell(no joke). In fact, I’d go back to the Bell before Sierra Grille because it’s the same quality food at a fraction of the price. And the staff are actually nicer.

DONOTCOMEHERE! Save the money and go to a more authentic restaurant like Don Carmelos. Let’s start off. 1. Food is way over priced. For paying almost 10 bucks you will still not be full from one burrito. 2.Tortilla chips taste like plastic. 3.Staff is very rude and offensive. They have sexually harassed my wife on 2 occasions by gawking and yesterday they had an older gentlemen working behind the counter mumbling in Spanish very provocative things to my wife. I reported this and will be contacting corporate and updating my review on the outcome. 4.Music is horrible stereotypical ranchero music. 5.Facilities are filthy. BEWARNED!

Where’s the authentic TexMex? They have Hispanic folks working here and they play Ranchero music but I suspect these guys are from Puerto Rico. I’m from Arizona and been to hundreds of Tex-Mex places. This is NOT the real deal. Sadly Gringo Yankees don’t know the difference. My personal peeve since moving here. On the plus side it’s a clean place and decent menu and good tortilla chips. Salsa is nothing special. My advice — skip it and go to Sr. Salsas in Westport.

I love this pace! The chicken tacos! The pico! The ranch! Fresh, yummy. I don’t know what people expect from a very small causal chain restaurant, but I am forever hooked.

Legit flavor and an even more legit salsa bar. I’m talking SoCal legit. Now they may not offer a California or even a Carnitas burrito, but what they do put out is delicious. I’ve had all versions of their tacos and their nachos. The tacos are delicious and they don’t skimp on the meat. My only suggestion would be to double up on the shell. The single shell cannot hold all the meat and toppings. The nachos are piled high with house-fried chips. Again, the salsa bar is a must when adding flavor to this monster. The chips are what I can’t get over though. Perfectly fried and seasoned. They are just as good standing alone dipped in salsa or pico de gallo. I’ll be there tomorrow for sure…

Cafeteria-style and line ‘em up. c’mon, it’s a local chain, and for that it aint bad, but it can’t compare to some of the locally owned taqueria’s in Snorewalk.(there’s a decent truck at US-1 and Main Ave) But, hey, at least it’s better then the«world’s greatest restaurant» as Judge Dread called the home of the gallon sodas – which to me is just known aptly as TB.

Décor is a little campy. But this place is meant for fast food. I would take it to go if I were you. We had steak burritos. Really tasty. Found the salsa bar lacking in flavor and spice though. The spicy salsa tasted like ketchup. Ick. Would come back, but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Average food. Under seasoned for the most part. Chicken seems stewed rather than grilled or flat topped. Am I insulted by that? No. For the price point I would expect no more or less Where Sierra does shine is the amazing SPEED with which they execute orders. By the time you close your wallet they are already calling your number for pickup. You can tell the owner made it his sole mission to make this rapid take out experience what Sierra grille is about. Overall, food is average. Service is expected and steady. Price is very reasonable. I wish I could give half a star more because three is too little yet four is too generous.

I have come here for lunch a couple of times. I have gotten the shrimp taco salad(not sure if that’s the exact name, but you get the idea), shrimp tacos, rice and beans, anddd… i am not sure what else. I like shrimp, if you can’t tell. Their salad was really good. Very fresh, a good mixture of ingredients. It was awhile ago, so I definitely cannot remember everything but I was pretty satisfied. I got two shrimp tacos and rice and«refried» beans yesterday. I put refried in quotes beause they were just red kidney beans. They were not the paste that comes to mind when you think of cooked, mashed up beans that have been refried. And they were pretty bland. The dshrimp in my tacos were cooked well and had some good flavor/spicing on them. They came with ranch sauce… which I don’t really understand, but whatever. I did not put that on them. Aside from that everything was pretty tasty. Their salsas are very good. I especially like their green one, it has good heat. they gave me a ton of chips to dip in them, which made me a happy camper. Overall, though, it has this fast food, McDonald’s-esque feel to the place that I am not crazy about. The interior could definitely use an update. I usually don’t care about that sort of thing, but it definitely doesn’t help. Also, being located behind a liquor store and not right off the post road is a bit of a strange location.

Not the best or authentic Mexican, but fresh, affordable, and flavorful especially for the area. Better than Rubio’s and FreshMex, but similar concept with an open salsa bar: Pineapple salsa, pico de gallo, mild/medium/hot salsa, hot sauce, onions, limes, lemons. Chicken burrito is a bit dry but works with salsas. Shrimp burrito is very good, with a decent amount of shrimp and orange/kiwi/papaya salsa which brings a nice flavor to it. Steak quesadilla is very cheesy(white cheese) and the tortilla has the perfect slight crispness. Food is also quickly prepared. Parking spots are narrow but plentiful. Fountain drinks $ 1.69. A family sitting near us spilled their drink, and the employees were quick to clean up and maintained a good attitude.
