Elite Level instruction and a great atmosphere are the main reasons why I chose Sitan Gym. I have been training at Sitan for 8 months and consider myself fortunate to have access to traditional Muay Thai training. The Instructors: What separates Sitan from other gyms is that you get to learn and train alongside active professional Championship contenders. Head Coach Eddie Martinez possess a wealth of knowledge gained through his many years of training in Thailand. Additionally, assistant Coaches are always available to consult with questions. Each class is structured to maintain a level of intensity that will help you grow both physically and mentally. Sitan also periodically offers seminars on advanced Muay Thai technique, nutrition, and strength/conditioning. The Atmosphere: You will not find egos at this gym. The coaching staff at Sitan foster a collaborative environment for students of all levels and abilities to learn. The students are supportive of each other during technique drills and are always quick to motivate you to push through the workout. The Coaches instill respect for the art of Muay Thai, and respect for your fellow students. You can focus on refining your technique instead of having to worry about being injured by a careless student. Lastly, Coaches are able to tailor the instruction to your skill level in the event that you miss your designated time slot on the schedule. In summary, if you are looking for a team environment where you can learn traditional Muay Thai from Elite level instructors, this is the place for you.

Really good small, close-knit, bare bones Muay Thai gym which is what all Muay Thai gyms should be. Coach Eddie is good with nuances in your technique and keeps everyone moving. The students are some of the friendliest of any Muay Thai gym I’ve ever encountered, and were very welcoming of me as an outsider. The only real reason I didn’t sign up on the spot was that they don’t have a shower in the facilities. Yes, I’m the same guy that 10 seconds ago said MT gyms should be no-frills but I’m old and lame and work odd hours so I’d have to go straight from the noon-time classes to work. Technique and work ethic wise I would definitely recommend Sitan for both beginners and experienced Thai fighters.

Awesome gym, great trainers, fun people. I did thai boxing in Germany and Switzerland and really can recommend Sitan Gym. So if you want to lose some weight or just clear your head after a shitty work day, this gym is for you. Don’t wait, start today. You won’t regret it.

Excellent muay thai gym! Training is suited for all experience levels and ages, with plenty of attention from coach Eddie. Sitan is hands down the best muay thai gym in all of CT.

I used to do Muay Thai at Plus One Defense in Hartford a few years back. I loved it but had to stop going once I moved to the New Haven area. For years I’ve been searching for a place with legitimate, traditional Muay Thai classes. So many places claim they teach«Muay Thai» but what they actually teach is cardio kickboxing ORMMA with some stand up. I’ve checked out a few places but usually left very disappointed. Sitan is the real deal and Eddie is a fantastic coach. He pushes his students but also took note of my past injuries and has been helpful in modifying what I do. Eddie uses all the traditional terms and warmups I learned up at Plus One, but what Eddie brings to his lessons is something even better: he is still fighting in pro fights. I think this makes a real difference, he’s on top of his game and he’s passionate about the sport having his students do their best.
