I dont know what they did or if they changed owners… but their pizza is very good now. Pizza and sauce is very tasty. I ordered the turkey wrap twice – both times very flavorful. I heard someone from work tell me they slice their own deli meat. Even If they do not, it sure does taste that way.

I stumbled upon this pizza joint during my recent excursion to Norwich. I wasn’t sure what to expect when parking in front of the small repurposed fire station, but I’m glad I walked in! This place definitely has character and they are true to their name. With the exposed red brick and firefighter paraphernalia, you can feel the history of the building which the owners preserved. It’s a very casual restaurant that serves mostly take-out orders, but if you appreciate the history be sure to read some of the many plaques and badges hanging on their walls! I had no idea what I wanted to order, but luckily the staff is extremely friendly and helpful if you ask for their suggestions. I ended up getting the chicken parmigiana sub which was excellent. You can order a small(6 inch) or large(12 inch), but the small was just right for lunch. Make sure you ask for the bread double toasted! Otherwise it gets soggy with the tomato sauce. Also, you can order with sautéed onions/peppers/mushrooms which definitely adds to the flavor and deliciousness. They serve it with an extra side of their award-winning marinara sauce, which you won’t be able to get enough of. $ 6 later, I left feeling quite satisfied with my lunch pit stop. Next time I’m around, I’d like to try their pizza and see if it’s as tasty as their hot subs! Also, it is BYOB. So you can bring drinks if you do decide to dine-in. And they do offer gluten free pizzas, calzones, and breadsticks!

Ordered from this place for the first time and let me say I WILLNEVERORDERHEREAGAIN. Ordered a JUMBO buffalo chicken pizza. Came 1.5 Hrs later, COLD and it is a LARGE pizza. I call and of course the BITCH of a woman who answers the phone as the MANAGER argues with me that the pizza is in fact a jumbo. Now I know pizza like anyone else who orders one. A large is a large is a large. Just because you call it a jumbo doesnt make it one. So as I tell her the pizza is cold and tastes like it came frozen and reheated she yells at me some more and screams that I am wrong and to never call there again. WELLNOSHITSHERLOCK! Do not order from this horrible place. The driver brought my money back and even apologized to me for her behavior, stating that it is hard to work there because she has no customer service skills and is rude.

Great gluten free options when you want pizza or calzones! Sometimes gets orders wrong delivering on busy nights. But otherwise a good takeout spot. Not a great place to sit down in, but good food and friendly service.

Engine 6 Pizza is an establishment that makes up what it lacks in class with excellent food. If you are ordering for delivery this is the pizza place for you. I stopped in with a few friends, the interior is quaintly decorated with firefighter appear and memorabilia, but is not necessarily«clean». We all ordered different calzones, each absolutely delicious in their own way. I am especially fond of the bread and ricotta cheese they use. If you are in the area and looking for some quality food, this is the place for you.

Your food is good but a piece of advice don’t make fun of your customers in front of other customers.

Great friendly staff. Pizza is excellent. Several gluten-free selections. Service is quick. We’ve dined in twice have not done delivery. We don’t live close enough for delivery but make the journey because it is worth it.

They make their own gluten free crust from scratch and it is, with no exaggeration, the best gluten free crust I’ve ever had. You must try the loaded potato pizza. Must I say. MUST.

One of the best pizza places around! If you go to dine in, the décor in there is great and looking at the old firefighting pictures and patches from the local departments on their wall is fun! The pizza is delicious, the grinders are some of the best, and they are able to accommodate people with all kinds of food allergies. The staff is friendly and especially helpful for those who do have food allergies so their experience can be a great one as well!

Ordered delivery from Engine No. 6 tonight at 10:15PM, had it by 11PM. Boy was it good. Chicken parm grinder, tomato basil garlic pizza, buffalo spicy tenders. Off the charts, and the delivery guy was nice too. It’s nice to get such good quality this late at night in Norwich. Had a long day moving and it really made my day that this food rocked.

By far our favorite pizza place in CT! Their buffalo chicken with blue cheese base is amazing! We’ve tried quite a few of the others as well(chicken bacon ranch, taco, bacon cheeseburger and the plain cheese) and they were great, the buffalo is just our favorite. I know people have had problems with their delivery. We always pick up at the restaurant so I have nothing to add on that end. The staff is always super friendly and remembers us when we come in! The inside is really cute with a few tables to sit at.

Everything I’ve tried from here has been delicious. You can tell the food has been prepared with care. My issue and reason for the lack of stars with engine 6 is that every time they add all these strange miscellaneous charges and a 3 $ delivery charge. Then they charge prepared meals tax on that delivery fee(which is illegal). Then you have to tip the driver. I asked the driver one time if they get the delivery charge. I was told«I don’t know what they do with that» It winds up getting very pricey for a sub and pizza shop. After two large subs and an appetizer plus delivery fees and tipping the driver, you’ll be paying 37 – 40 $. Depending on what strange inconsistent charges they decide to tack on. I hope they correct this problem and stop nickel and diming customers because the food is awesome.

The delivery driver was mad chill and was genuinely chill to work with. All of the components of the pizza were good — the sauce, the crust, the cheese. I have ordered a few times and everytime their mozzarella sticks get here soggy… can we do perhaps not styrofoam for their transportation? I think this would really help. The marinara sauce is good too. I like supporting the local guys as much as possible.

The only item I order from here is the gluten free pizza and it is easily the best I’ve ever had! It’s expensive, but definitely worth it.

Awesome pizza! I moved away a year ago and still want Engine 6 when I want pizza. Only complaints is it’s a bit pricy for take out pizza and the location seemed odd. I would never see it until we were about it pass it, and the drive way is all torn up(unless they’ve fixed it). I’m pretty sure they have a discount or something free for military.

I love their calzones(, the wings are great and the pizza is yummy, too. The delivery time is really long, though, so plan accordingly.

My wife & I gave this place a shot because she is gluten free & they have a GF option on much of their food. She was blown away and I loved my gluten filled calzone! Very friendly people, serving up tasty pizza, calzones, & pastas! You will not be disappointed!

Had the bread sticks and the Engine 6 Special pizza, both gluten free(I have to eat wheat free due to allergies, not celiac). We were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Both were nice and bready without being too much. My wife is a big bread fan and even she really liked it. Besides being GF, the pizza was top notch. The sauce was just right, not too sweet or savory and was just the right amount. The toppings were delicious. We finished with GF deserts which were awesome. They have a big selection of GF deserts. The staff were very nice and attentive without being annoying. The place is pretty intimate, only a few tables, in an old fire house, which was very cool. Overall it was a very nice dinner and is our new pizza place. We’ll definitely be going back.
