I have been doing my own color, pretty much since I moved back north(Baltimore) from Miami in 2006 — and got pretty spoiled with great color and very cute«girly», short cuts at a reasonable price,(meaning under 30 bucks for a hair cut — under 100 for color). Couldn’t seem to find any meeting of the hair minds … even when I ended-up paying some crazy, over-inflated price at some salon with a pretentious, one-syllable name. I just cannot afford that anyway! While out with friends, I met«Grace» last New Years Eve and found out that she did hair … Grace is a color genius — and I love my hair cut!!! I cannot say enough good things about Grace D., — her level of service, experience, listening skills and good, old — fashioned talent :) She is also a natural people person and clearly cares about her work and knows what she is doing. So if you are reading this review and are wondering about the other bad reviews — it looks like those were a couple of years ago. Set-up and appointment with Grace, and you won’t regret it :) The other stylists that I saw there each time were pleasant, and their customers seemed very pleased with them as well.

I actually started coming to Mastercuts because my stylist transferred there. Her name is Anita and she is a Wizard with the scissors and I don’t trust anyone to do my hair but her I don’t know the other ladies but they seemed nice enough. I went yesterday morning. I usually get a trim every two months and Anita has been doing my hair for years now. I rock a bob sometimes natural and sometimes flat iron but Anita has been maintaining this look for me for years. yesterday when I went to Mastercuts they had just opened so I was in and out.

Worst cut ever after having to wait for girl to hang up the phone. Uneven cut along back. Pathetic! Would NEVER go back.

This is strictly on customer service because I walked out before I was able to get a haircut. Being I customer service and going to a beauty school myself, I understand how valuable my clients and customers are. However, the women that were working today around 5 gave me anything but the impression that I mattered. There was NOONE in the salon getting services done when I walked in. Before I walked in I called ahead asking if they accepted clients without appointment. I work in the mall so I decided the distance and price were spot on for me today. There was one women sitting down in a chair and another leaning on a counter, drinking a coffee, and they were chatting with each other. I stood there for a few minutes growing very impatient because I wasn’t even greeted. The one sitting down was facing my way and could clearly see me standing at the respect ion desk. Finally, after a few minutes of being totally ignored I shook my head, sighed and began to walk out. Before I even hit the door they both looked at me with complete attitude rolling their eyes. I looked back in as I was leaving and they were both laughing! What a pathetic excuse for good customer service. I feel bad for other stylists that work there and value their clients because if someone gets treated that way they aren’t going to be coming back. I will never go back and I wouldn’t recommend. I’ll pay a few extra bucks to be treated nicely. They are the ones losing money and it’s wells deserved.

For the price, it was a great deal($ 15.95). I’m not picky about where I get my hair cut because I know it grows back, and I work in a profession in which it just gets pulled back anyway. Overall, my haircut was good. I walked in without an appointment and was seated right away. I wanted my bangs to be trimmed, but I should have stopped at the haircut. The stylist(starts with a «T») cut it way too short. I could feel her scissors up too high, so I grabbed her hand(she was in the way of the mirror so I couldn’t see where she was cutting). After I instructed her that I wanted them to ride my eyebrows, she proceeded, but it still came out uneven. Then she blew my hair out with a round brush(I did not ask for it, but she insisted). You’d think she had never brushed anyone’s hair, because she was ripping into my scalp with the bristles with each stroke. I tried not to laugh in front of her(it was just so ridiculous). Yes for the value.

First, a confession. I am far more adventurous with my hair than any woman in her right mind should be. Just about once a year I do something extreme to my hair, love it for a brief period, and then spend the rest of the year suffering through HRT&E(that is Hair Repair Trial and Error). For example… this year I could not wait for the leaves to change color so I spontaneously decided to dye my hair the colors of ALL my favorite fall foliage. Yea… sigh. Depending on the damage done, this can be a rather costly annual cycle. Thankfully, I have come to learn that no matter what I do to my hair I can always go to Mastercuts to find sympathy for my hair-related impulses and a stylist who is able to provide professional guidance on how I can look human again. Over the years, I have seen many people come and go at this salon but I have never had a bad experience. I have had my hair cut, colored, and everything in between and I always leave feeling like I got a good hairdo for a good price. So…Mastercuts may just be a another chain salon at your local mall but if you need someone to restore you to normal, or just give you a great cut and/or color without charging you an arm and a leg, this is the place to go!
