I took my boys shoe shopping today(not as much fun as shoe shopping with the girls, by the way) and we ended up at Finish Line inside 12 Oaks Mall. My oldest son really wanted a specific pair of Nike shoes, so he asked if we could stop in there to take a look. The store was not busy and there were two employees working. When we located the shoe that he wanted to try on, I asked the employee who was not helping the other customers to help us. I asked if he could measure my son’s foot to be sure what size to get. The entire time I felt like this guy helping us really wanted to put forth the least amount of effort possible. I measured my son’s foot after he brought us the device. He brought us one shoe a size bigger than the size for which we asked. I bent down, put the shoe on my son and tried to figure out if they fit properly or not. I asked the salesman if he could bend down and feel the tip of the shoe to tell me if they were too big or not. In the middle of the whole thing the one employee says something to the other one about a new shoe that Finish Line will be getting in stock. They start having a conversation between themselves about how they are going to be able to buy the shoe with their employee discount. Now I understand that I was not at Nordstrom, however, the shoes are not inexpensive at Finish Line. A little tiny bit of customer service would have been nice. I did buy the shoes(mostly to avoid a meltdown), but I will not go back there again. I will spend my $ 100 bucks somewhere else.
